- kingofinternet, on 01/30/2008, -3/+87i had a similar intention to analyze the anatomical structure and physical form of misty from pokemon so i drew her naked.
- Shiftyeyedgoat, on 01/30/2008, -2/+66There goes my childhood.
- inactive, on 01/30/2008, -12/+54now that was ***** cool.
- inactive, on 01/30/2008, -22/+54The show is created by Hyungkoo Lee who says the Animatus series started with the “intention to analyze anatomical structures and physical forms of animation characters, within the hypothesis to visualize their possible anatomical foundation.”
That's a pretty damn pretentious statement. You modeled skeletons for cartoon characters. Don't act like you just solved some complex problem regarding the evolution of a rare species.
Pretentious statement aside, I like these. - kevlarbaboon, on 01/30/2008, -3/+30I ***** knew they were real! Proof!
- Commonwealth, on 01/30/2008, -2/+27After going to art school I realize that very few artists take their own pretentious statements seriously.
- supremespleen, on 01/30/2008, -0/+24I think you are missing the point as well.
- inactive, on 01/30/2008, -1/+23I don't know about the rest of you, but the site tried to popup several uncloseable ads and then take control of my browser. My antivirus stopped it, but either this site has been hacked, or they're asshats trying to take advantage of you. You might want to run a sweep after visiting them.
- irgeorge, on 01/30/2008, -1/+18This is truth. It's really the culture of forcing artists to justify their work ("but is it art?") which has given rise to the trend of pretentious statements, which only serve to alienate people further. Something of a cyclically escalating occurrence... (was that pretentious enough?)
- UwasaWaya, on 01/30/2008, -2/+18Common's right, he probably was waylaid by some interviewer and just said the first thing that came to mind. Better than 'we got stoned, watched a bunch of Loony Toons, and thought it'd be cool to see them all bony'.
- nhowe, on 01/30/2008, -0/+14I signed in just to digg your comment down!!
- perryge, on 01/30/2008, -0/+14Holy ***** it did it to my Safari too, wtf. Do people not realise that using layered popups that get round popup blockers does not increase the chance that your advertising will reach an audience, it just royally pisses off people who have popups blocked for a reason.
- kenyan, on 01/30/2008, -1/+15I was happier when people just said "dugg"..
- HeavyDose, on 01/30/2008, -3/+16Fake... just like the dinosaurs.
- bamassippi, on 01/30/2008, -0/+13No digg -- too much f'ing pop-ups
- DAG333, on 01/30/2008, -2/+15Here are some more pictures of the same thing....
http://waxy.org/random/images/weblog/cartoon_skele ... - qhor, on 01/30/2008, -1/+14Temporarily mirrored:
http://grammarmehate.com/skeletons/ - perryge, on 01/30/2008, -1/+133 ***** popup ads over my Safari with popup blocking enabled. And a ***** window that told me that my 'PC' was infected, and I had to visit 'XPvirus.com' or something to clean my copy of XP of viruses.
I'm on a Mac. Bitches. - inactive, on 01/30/2008, -2/+14I was an architecture major, and I dropped out because I realized the majority of architects DID take their pretentious statements seriously. I can't take that *****. Now I'm in Civil Engineering.
- razorsedge555, on 01/30/2008, -0/+11Wow did you cram the tampon in sideways this morning? What a frigging grouch...
- UndeadZmobie, on 01/30/2008, -0/+11No, you're an idiot.
- louiedog, on 01/30/2008, -0/+10Motion capture is not bad for entertainment, it's a new direction. The death of old school animation would be bad. If you can't enjoy both because you can't get past the way you feel something is supposed to be, I feel sorry for you.
- sharkd, on 01/30/2008, -0/+10Cool content, but buried for egregious use of java-based layer popups.
- danthemanhan, on 01/30/2008, -0/+9man is that ever an invasive ad. dont click the link. not worth it
- bigsquirrely, on 01/30/2008, -1/+10Should have done Marvin the Martian as well
- longzheng, on 01/30/2008, -0/+8I even saw porn popups
- stklaw, on 01/30/2008, -0/+8You mean muzzle?
- shagg187, on 01/30/2008, -0/+7Cool pics. Buried for the amount of ridiculous pop-ups (In before "ZOMG U DONT HAVE POPUP BLOCKERS!").
- stklaw, on 01/30/2008, -0/+7Nonetheless interesting though.
- EvilDr.X, on 01/30/2008, -0/+7That's exactly why I switched from Digital Media to Computer Science. I couldn't take any more of these "artists" and their precious, precious *****.
- Moosebri, on 01/30/2008, -0/+7Those are great! Truth be known, I think it would have been cool to see lots more too. Popeye! The size of that mans chin would translate really well for this exhibit. Stewie Griffin would be hilarious too!
- holmcross, on 01/30/2008, -1/+7Agreed. Buried.
- papastout, on 01/30/2008, -2/+8Study: still life in 'toon
What about Droopy, what did all that sag do to his maxilla... - unfilterthought, on 01/30/2008, -1/+7How is it pretentious? He's doing exactly what he said....
Artists statements are a pain in the ass to make. "I just wanna make pretty pictures" turns into "I wanted to create pictorial images with pleasing visual compositions." - Steyr47, on 01/30/2008, -0/+6They were real?!?! NOOO!
I'll never see them on TV again except in reruns. :( - razorsedge555, on 01/30/2008, -1/+7We need a vivisection of Big Bird now, and possibly an xray of Bert and Ernie entwined in post coital bliss.
- qhor, on 01/30/2008, -0/+5It looks like they added most of this nasty script stuff, when they "fixed" their server (it was down for a long time due to the digg effect). My mirror, as posted above, is clean of all these scripts, etc. [ http://grammarmehate.com/skeletons/ ] -- though, by the time anyone reads this, it'll probably be too late for them...
- Rippleeffect, on 01/30/2008, -1/+6I wouldn't mind seeing animations of the skelotons.
- Terr01, on 01/30/2008, -0/+5Yeah, that's BS talk, and I recognize it's characteristics from my several of my own projects in the past..
Yes, call him on it, but don't blame the guy: He's probably under some pressure to make it sound pragmatic and academic. - ElbertF, on 01/30/2008, -0/+4Big ass-eyes.
- BagginsBoy, on 01/30/2008, -3/+7WTF is up with this site, and how did so many people digg it with all the F'n popups. It started Java and then crashed Firefox.
- shakbhaji, on 01/30/2008, -1/+5I was kinda hoping for a "Goofy" skeleton. I've never understood how his "beak" is so huge.
Also Stewie. - zglows, on 01/30/2008, -0/+4it is a ripp off of this site http://uaddit.com/discussions/showthread.php?t=704
this site posted the same thing 3 days ago - inactive, on 01/30/2008, -0/+4A subtle way of saying 'OLD'
- inactive, on 01/30/2008, -0/+3If you would have spelled Wile E. Coyote correctly I would have dugg up :/
- Rodalli, on 01/30/2008, -0/+3I couldn't agree with this more. I'm finishing up a fine arts degree in sculpture and one of the most annoying things is being expected to talk about my work in "artspeak" (i.e., as pretentiously as possible). Why can't these people leave me alone? In the words of the great Prof. Mark Zucker, "It's art, baby!"
- catfish182, on 01/30/2008, -0/+3true, It doesnt make it as much as some but i do remember this at least 4 times.
On the other hand it is very interesting no matter how many times seen - h4mx0r, on 01/30/2008, -1/+4this is really creepy, you have to admit.
- jwwbear, on 01/30/2008, -2/+5Yeah, same here. My Firefox locked up when one of those ads popped up...
- bxblox, on 01/30/2008, -0/+3haha i laughed hard at this thread because i did both architecture and digital media before switching to computer science. Architecture has to be at the top of the pretentious scale. (im a freelance graphic artist now though)
