- t3hCyborg, on 10/11/2007, -1/+75I don't know about "voluptuous" as it looked more like a child with bunny ears to me... Still though, that is pretty insane.
- spect3r, on 10/11/2007, -4/+68And here is the DIGG logo in HTML
http://www.downwithrobots.com/uploads/store/digglogo.html - jmgoody311, on 10/11/2007, -10/+52worst. music. ever.

- Dokument, on 10/11/2007, -3/+26Pssh, that was actual speed.
- ahawks, on 10/11/2007, -2/+21Wow, I actually prefer the look of the html digg logo to the original
- Apreche, on 10/11/2007, -1/+16He could have done it faster if he used vi.
- EvaMonkey01, on 10/11/2007, -0/+13SWEET JEEBUS!!
That guy has a little too much time on his hands - spect3r, on 10/11/2007, -1/+13There are plenty of BMP to HTML programs out there - so I wonder if he worked backwards using it :P. The code is somewhat organized, I suppose.
Here is an example (Beware - your browser will hate you!!!)
http://www.daansystems.com/freestuff/bmp2tab.html
And here is a BMP to HTML converter:
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Graphic/Image-Convertors/Bitmap-to-Html-table-convertor.shtml - excesssaibot, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7I'm sure he was using some sort of script to create the coloured cells. It was just too mechanical.
- spearce, on 10/11/2007, -3/+9so this is what geeks do instead of meeting girls and having sex.
- TuxedoMax, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6here's the direct link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELZAU0Ohfdk
- CodyZ, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5"Perhaps more astonishing than the asinine level of detail necessary to code something like this in Notepad is the up-their-own-ass dorks in the Videosift comments complaining that it's not standards compliant CSS."
dugg for that. - swingsetacid, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5@widman:
AFAIK, gabber (gabba) is really fast house music (like > 200 bpm). I'm pretty sure it's German / Dutch / somesortofEuro based . . . wait. ah, nevermind. wikipedia is smarter than me:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gabber - mrmacky, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Dugg for being completely awesome :)
Although, It begs the question, does this go against the rule that tables should not be used for website layout, a picture isn't exactly "tabular data".... or is it.
I wonder how long it takes to render the page - LexisNexis, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Why are you on digg?
- milkmage, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5source or it didn't happen
- wbreim, on 10/11/2007, -4/+8it looked like a ragnaroak character, RO anyone?
- thorb, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5I may or may not have just pooped.
- 8177, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4To whomever it may concern
I, who shall forever be remembered as 8177, no longer exist. After viewing "Anime Character 'Drawn' In HTML Tests Limits of Sanity" I went completely ***** insane and burned my house down. Soon after my head exploded form audio from said video. - MaTT2011, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4ummmm............Voluptuous ??? WTF???
Is anyone else noticing that this "voluptuous" anime bunny chick looks less "voluptuous" and more .... child like???
Its kind of creepy that they would use that word to describe the image...... - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4I would digg him down but I'd feel weird doing it. It would seem like I'm opposed to such a thing.
- Kyrgizion, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4My head 'asplode!
- SteaminTmann, on 10/11/2007, -3/+6yea that's great...... but can he do it with divs?
- Zreitan, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3i think anyone whos done HTML and used tables has pondered doing this.... but ive never been crazy enough to try it!
- vspazv, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2He was using IE... Will it render correctly in Firefox?
- sisko, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2First, let me preface with my opinion that I think it definitely _could_ be legitimate...
But I do want to bring up the possibility that the center part of the video (high speed section where you don't see the mouse cursor) could've been accomplished by splicing in a segment that was really played in reverse. In other words, if he had started with a near-complete result and then began deleting lines, playing that segment backwards creates an illusion of creation. As there are already many free applications that convert images to ASCII, I do not think it'd be too difficult to take that a step further and have the image already deconstructed into pure HTML. Stick that reversed portion inbetween the normal-mode beginning and ending...
Anyway, just a thought, as it's hard to see the details with a grainy youtube vid. - MichaelStanton, on 10/11/2007, -3/+5How dare you mock HTML-tan!
- heavyal, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Dugg because it WAS insane, but that's not voluptuous by any means. Now someone needs to take it to the next level and ANIMATE it!
- SpaceDreamer, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1link to the html page that we see in the video, please?
- Laqrhead, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1That reminds me of coding pictures on an Apple II in elementary school. Very tedious.
- widman, on 10/11/2007, -3/+4I did, it was a basement party in London last year... The music changed in a sort of random pattern on different speeds with completely different styles, from bad pop on 45rpm to multiple psy trance (hyped) vs. reggae backwards (I think.) They changed at every 30 seconds average, but it seemed when something was really annoying everyone it would stay on for a whole minute.
Somehow there was a pack of 20 teenagers kind of dancing to it.
I swear this was real. London might be ahead on many things, but I hope this isn't one.
A friend said it could be Gabba Gabba, but I think it had nothing to do. - thcobbs, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2I'd like to see how long it took to render that page on my browser with his html file.
- dralezero, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Yea it was a little weird at first it was obviously by hand, even the copy pasting. But then as it was drawing out it looked like he was constantly pasting without copying so I didn't see how it was making different colors and cells if he was pasting repeatedly. So it does look like a script printing the code into the notepad editor.
- chompu, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3She's not a ragnarok online or an anime character.

In case anyone is interested you can download trial versions of the games here

- Optimaximal, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1That would likely involve blink tags... everytime someone uses blink tags, god kills a catgirl...
