- inactive, on 01/05/2009, -0/+42Well done. I thought he named himself Logan because all the cool names like Andre 3000 and Englebert Humperdink were taken.
- XxbladesfirexX, on 01/05/2009, -0/+37Nice to see some people still repect the comics :-)
- GreatSunJester, on 01/05/2009, -2/+38And if he was Swiss, can you imagine the array of useful implements that would spring out of his hands? Saw blade, scissors, CORKSCREW!
Of course, if he were French, he would be armed with a full set of spring loaded white flags! - ericthegreat, on 01/05/2009, -1/+33Also could be titled "5 things anyone who is into comics knew about Wolverine"
- jamalama, on 01/05/2009, -0/+29#7 After the X-Men won the war against the Brotherhood, he changed his name to Hugh Jackman and sought his fortunes elsewhere
- SwankRock3000, on 01/05/2009, -2/+27The biggest revelation I remember reading was in Wolverine #75.
It was always assumed that his claws were implants that he got when his bones were plated with adamantium , but then he lost the adamantium (magneto ripped it out) and then later when instinctively popped out his claws in battle, there they were; made of bone. - chriscalifornia, on 03/31/2009, -2/+23Why cant people just put it all on one page? It was *this* close to being a perfect article...
Dugg anyway for the wolverine - ericthegreat, on 01/05/2009, -0/+19Multiple reasons.
Advertising and page hits. The more hits, the more ad displays.
Content tracking. You can see how many people actually read the story or just clicked on a link and closed it. This way you can gauge and see if your content is actually grabbing people or if they click and run. Which ties back to advertising as you can tell potential sponsors that people actually read the content and are more likely to pay attention to your flashing, scrolling, marquee ad. - PopcornDave, on 01/05/2009, -0/+18If he was French he'd be Edward Surrenderhands.
- TyrannousDotNet, on 01/05/2009, -4/+21He is Canadian.
- inactive, on 01/05/2009, -0/+17Wolverine was Dudley Do-Right? Damn!
- sorenchr, on 01/05/2009, -4/+20Yeah that's sad
- missjb, on 01/05/2009, -1/+17I don't mind if it's only on 2 pages like this one. when it's on 4-5 i go nuts. franky, this article is just too good anyway.
- lintmonkey, on 01/05/2009, -0/+11That's #1 on the list of Things You Probably Didn't Know But Were Pretty Sure of Anyway.
- johnruk, on 01/05/2009, -1/+12#9 Wolverine is an anagram of Evil Owner
- DevSingh1359, on 01/05/2009, -0/+107. He's the best at what he does.
- petebot, on 01/05/2009, -1/+116. He plays by his own rules.
- dirtymerkin, on 01/05/2009, -1/+11Something else you might not know....According to Grant Morrison, writing in New X-Men, Wolverine has huge genitals. This was revealed in a scene where Wolverine and Sabertooth are taking a leak next to each other in the bathroom of a club, and Sabertooth asks "What have you got that I don't?" Bonus points for anyone who can remember the issue #. I'm too lazy to look it up.
- tattertech, on 01/05/2009, -0/+108. What he does isn't very nice.
- kolop1, on 01/05/2009, -0/+10He was better when he had secrets. The more I found out about him the less interesting he becomes.
- ericthegreat, on 01/05/2009, -0/+10I thought the Logan nod to the grounds keeper was them suggesting that he may be James' real father, not of the other brat kid they eluded to being Wolverine at the beginning of Origins.
- laserdog, on 01/05/2009, -0/+9#6 Once killed a T-Rex:
http://njoo.deviantart.com/art/Wolverine-vs-T-rex- ... - MelekTawus, on 01/05/2009, -0/+9#10 He has suffered from extreme priapism since his powers awakened and has to wear a special molded codpiece under his tights.
- Slique22, on 01/05/2009, -0/+9I'm surprised to see that they missed off the fact that Walverine's claws are actually made of bone. A lot of people I know (who are fans of the films) used to think that they were just given to him when he was experimented on with the adamantium -- rather than being grafted onto the prexisting 'claw' bones, ala the rest of his body.
Dugg nonetheless, though. Good article. - inactive, on 01/06/2009, -0/+9#12 Wolverine once took third place in a Hugh Jackman lookalike contest.
- inactive, on 01/05/2009, -1/+9Ah Aretha
R-E-P-E-C-T never knew what it means to me. - Stupidumb, on 01/05/2009, -1/+9I don't even like Wolverine, but ***** you
- KrazyMon2, on 01/05/2009, -1/+8Dugg not only for Wolverine but because I am wearing my X-Men Wolverine shirt right now.
- blackinthmiddle, on 01/05/2009, -0/+7Yeah, he'd be Edward Scissorhands.
- 1jaxstate1, on 01/05/2009, -0/+6Damn didn't know he was born James. *Sigh*, Thanks mom for throwing away all my comics after I left for college :(
- veriix, on 01/06/2009, -0/+6#11 Though he will deny it to his grave, Wolverine worked in Carter administration for a brief time.
- tgc1, on 01/06/2009, -0/+69. RAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwrrrr!!!! *snikt, snikt*
- vp0ng, on 01/05/2009, -0/+6*haydesigner
you forgot to actually read the post he he replied to while you typed that. - windmarble, on 01/05/2009, -2/+8NICE!
- ericthegreat, on 01/05/2009, -0/+5Yeah, and now the reason he couldn't remember anything is because he came to Prof-X and asked him to block it all. Wonder how long it will be before the ret-con that just like the awesome "Magneto is Xorn" reveal.
Screw you Marvel. - blackinthmiddle, on 01/05/2009, -0/+5Agreed, but the askmen audience is probably not predominantly comic book readers.
- dirtymerkin, on 01/05/2009, -4/+9I want to bury you but you are soooo right about Gambit.
- decepticrat, on 01/05/2009, -1/+6Very nice. Dugg.

/grouch - MarrowMan, on 01/05/2009, -3/+7He is Canadian after all.
- TyrannousDotNet, on 01/05/2009, -1/+5He exclusively used a sword for a while.
- MasterOfSmurfs, on 01/06/2009, -0/+4Is it bad that I already knew all of those?
- jggube, on 01/06/2009, -0/+4combo breakers only work if you can't get buried.
- kinseyincanada, on 01/05/2009, -1/+5effort? its on 2 pages how lazy can you be?
- j0etb, on 01/06/2009, -0/+4#14 Wolverine taught Edward Scissorhands to cut hair
- crsnglb, on 01/06/2009, -0/+3They left that kind of "iffy" in the comic, but I think that Logan may have been James' real father; remember that he broke into James' house in the first place in order to take his mother away with him. The comic made it obvious that Logan and James' mother had had some sort of relationship in the past, especially since Logan always made references to how Howlett didn't know how to treat his wife.
- alexforcefive, on 01/06/2009, -0/+3to be fair, for a two page article it's the exact same number of clicks :p
- dougmc, on 01/05/2009, -0/+3`that Wolverine was a sickly child'
Blah. They probably just added that later, to add irony (though I'm not sure that's the right term) to the character. Sort of like Daphne/The Speedster in `Heroes' -- before her powers let her run super fast, she could barely walk at all.
It's not like it matters one bit to the character now.
Similarly, I haven't read up on him, but it wouldn't surprise me if Angel (the dude with wings) turned out to be afraid of heights before his wings came in (usually the mutant powers manifested at puberty ...) It wouldn't surprise me his origin story didn't say that either -- if they do it too often, it becomes a cliche -- and it's probably pretty close to that already. -
