- 10001110101, on 10/12/2007, -3/+91LMAO! I love how he doesn't put his goggles on until midway through the experiment. I can picture the director standing off camera mouthing the words, "Goggles! You're not practicing safe science!"
- statik99, on 11/03/2009, -1/+78What I wanna know is will a BlendTec blender blend a BlendTec blender...
- dirtyharry, on 10/12/2007, -1/+71You'd think after seeing a dozen of these videos on digg that I'd be tired of them by now... You'd think, but you'd be wrong.
- Scynet, on 10/12/2007, -1/+41The goggles....they do nothing!
- koontzorama, on 10/12/2007, -1/+39The universe would explode and life as we know it would end.
- HamsterOfDeath, on 10/12/2007, -0/+37Look up the other BlendTec videos and be amazed.
- bashar129, on 10/12/2007, -1/+32I wonder when they will blend parts of other blenders.
- BevansDesign, on 10/12/2007, -2/+31I know where to go if I ever need a blender that can make me a delicious hockey puck shake.
- mcnasby, on 10/12/2007, -2/+25Genius advertisements. More companies need to embrace the digital age like BlendTec has done.
- Jolene, on 10/12/2007, -2/+23What do you mean "Don't try this at home"?! Isn't that what these blenders are for? I want a hockey puck smoothie before the big game science dammit!
- MOJIRA, on 05/17/2008, -2/+22Yeah, Letterman's producers should just replace that segment with this guy.
That blender is insane, and the LCD readout on it awesome. I can't imagine ever buying one unless I was loaded, bored and wanted to try to blend something ridiculous.
Also maybe good for blending human extremities into a nice pulp? Feed it to the sharks.. the perfect murder.. *
*don't try this at home. - Dustyb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17Smart advertising if I do say so myself.
- 1021, on 10/12/2007, -4/+20Good PR. Reminds me of Will it Float segments on Letterman.
- Jolene, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16Suggestion sent in.
- teamgwho, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16that's pucking awesome!
i like how when the whole thing starts shaking and they flash the words "DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME" he has to hang on for dear life. It's one step removed from "JANE! Stop this crazy thing!"
they need to use this on myhthbuster and try to find something it can't blend. I mean, you just know Adam has one of these in his apartment. - seaner, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14It looks as though those pucks are blue. Blue pucks are half the weight of a regular black one and not as tough. Although I'm sure the blender could easily blend real pucks.
- fletchowns, on 10/12/2007, -5/+18Go educate yourself
http://science.enotes.com/how-products-encyclopedia/hockey-puck - flameboy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13every time i see a new one of these I wonder how much their sales must have increased since they started appearing on youtube.
It seems like everyone wants one of these blenders. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13I'm trying to visualize somebody from Maytag putting a hundred hockey pucks in a dryer.
- statik99, on 11/03/2009, -1/+12I agree. I saw this and thought "not another" but damn I always end up digging these. I'm always amazed what blends. This guy needs to be on Letterman.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Two years of constant use by a Starbucks is not a bad life span.
- zip22, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10they were 115 grams each. you can clearly see them labeled at the end of the video here
http://www.willitblend.com/videos.aspx?type=unsafe&video=pucks
according to wikipedia, "One of the most common is a blue, 4 oz. puck that is used for training younger players who are not yet able to use a standard puck." 4 oz = 113.3g - expectinrain, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10YouTube was made for videos like this. What the hell did any of us do with our time before these type of things came available? Did you ever wonder what you would be doing if there was no internet?
- ThreeDee912, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Could it blend diamonds?
- mrfreeziexp, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Tom Dickson = my hero.
- zentro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Yes, blue pucks are kids' pucks. The black ones are heavier but they don't contain any metal.
- asurroca, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Damn, what model is this? Because the BlendTec blenders we use at work (Starbucks) have to be replaced or repaired like every two few years, meaning several thousand Frappuccinos are enough to K.O. a BlendTec blender.
So, this model is obviously considerably more heavy-duty than the BlendTecs used by Starbucks and basically every company that makes blended drinks. Who do they market these do? The Mafia? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I'd like to see him blend a box of blasting caps...
- Dpack1, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10Monkey Island springs to mind....
How many blenders would a BlendTec blend if a BlendTec could blend blenders? - chiklit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8If only all infomercials were this cool...
- Kemo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I just watched several of these vids..
That has to be the baddest blender I have EVER seen in my entire ***** life!!!!
The ***** smoothie button is a killer! Hahahahahahaa!!!!! - david76, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8I'm so glad they decided against the Hockey Puck Blended Creme at Starbucks. It would've been really noisy.
- ringo380, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I keep seeing a clip of him blending a bunch of light-bulbs in the Blendtec intro, but I can't find a video of him doing that. Anyone know where I find this?
- jaredvolkl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Most genius advertising campaign ever. I want one just so I can do this!
- spiffyfitz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Blendtec reminds me of infomercials for knives where "It cuts straight through a shoe! and watch these complimentary scissors cut through this penny with ease! A $25 value, yours FREE!"
If I had an apartment I'd own a Blendtec. - zzz@tkz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8There goes another 400$ blender.
- coldphoenix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Yes...but then I realize there's a whole world out there.
- thepompano, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Yeah, it'll blend.
- cambrown99, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6This may be the most ingenius use of viral marketing ever.
- haveacigar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6now i know how to get rid of all those dead bodies in my garage...
- elenadragon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6My husband and I bought one of these blenders after seeing the videos (their lowest end model). It was expensive, but makes great smoothies. We put just ice in there once, and it came out like a snow cone, very fine. It also has modes for stuff like batter and dips. It's easy to use and easy to clean... I don't regret buying it.
- PvtJenkins, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Yes sir!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0oVaEbRiqug - neuropsychguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5It isn't necessarily more heavy-duty. Who knows if the blenders are still good after they blend whatever junk they're putting in there.
- markdr123, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8Maybe, just maybe, they were 345 grams each?
- MaddDog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4>Did you ever wonder what you would be doing if there was no internet?
No. - InvertedDonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3whats the lab coat for? is he a scientist? i dont think blending random things qualifies you as a scientist. Sorry blend-man, im calling your bluff.
- Bob042, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3WOW, that blender is loud on the highest setting. Look at the end of that video for the rake.
- gdm9000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3What I want to see is - Will it blend... a BlendTec blender?
- Aliasing, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3These would be the best viral marketing videos ever if their blenders didn't cost $600.
- Morsetlis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2And you didn't try to blend hockey pucks?!
