- pyrohotdog, on 07/19/2009, -12/+70What's with all the skateboarder hating?
Am I the only digger that skateboards (at age 21, take that)?
Pale nerds, put down the control and try it for real. - ChuckDees, on 07/19/2009, -1/+58The people at "cracked" must be rollerbladers.
- povision, on 07/19/2009, -11/+46The only thing this dip-***** writer knows about skateboarding is what he learned from watching Back To The Future.
Eat a bowl of *****. - glowfood, on 07/19/2009, -4/+37Wow Cracked, I'm disappointed.
- matthewkg, on 07/19/2009, -0/+32Don't read on crack.
- MasterBeowulf, on 07/19/2009, -4/+36i'm 24 and i still skateboard almost everyday, its great fun and great exercise.
- CubFan185, on 07/19/2009, -3/+27I don't anymore, but I did for about 10 years when I was younger and it was a lot of fun. Some people just don't like the idea of others enjoying themselves.
- twiztidsinz, on 07/19/2009, -1/+24Sounds like someone pissed in your bowl of ***** this morning....
- B1665r, on 07/19/2009, -2/+23The people at cracked are gay?
- utfreak, on 07/19/2009, -0/+19i still skate. im 21 as well. I expected the article to be somewhat funny but it completely failed at that.
- MofS, on 08/13/2009, -1/+20I don't skateboard so I'm not biased or anything, but who the hell cares what people do with their lives if they have fun (and not hurt anyone)? It's THEIR hobby. Sick of all these "standards" set by society.
- heroesdietrying, on 07/19/2009, -1/+18This article wasn't funny. The only line that even came close was "Skateboarders are the only group in existence to view security guards as an actual threat." Might be the worst article I've ever seen on cracked.
- kuys, on 07/19/2009, -1/+17I would still skate but after 8 years of skating my ankles are destroyed. I have bone fragments floating around in my ankles to this day.
- joshuaer, on 07/19/2009, -0/+16how did you do that? you know take part of the article i just saw and posted it here. This is amazing if it catches on I will never have to click on a link again!
- ticookie, on 07/18/2009, -3/+17So skateboarding isn't cool if you're Tony Hawk? Huh.
- ThatGeek, on 07/19/2009, -0/+14yeah I read that too
- dandaman0345, on 07/19/2009, -3/+16Sir, I believe you are lost....this is Digg
- newman8r, on 07/19/2009, -1/+13yeah cyrix, but just think about how much harder it would have been to do that on a skateboard
- garvus123, on 07/19/2009, -1/+12I'm 21 and I literally just started skating a week ago purely out of boredom. The first day I couldn't even stand on the deck without it rolling away under my feet. Now I can skate back and forth and change direction fairly well. I can't ollie yet, but I think I'm making progress. Basically my point is you can definitely start skating even into your twenties. Don't believe the misconception that it's only for teens.
- Keicharones, on 07/19/2009, -0/+11People think skateboarding is about being a rebel? Yeah right. It is about having fun and hanging out with friends. Who ever wrote this article is pathetic.
"(rising to 100 percent if you include mental age)."
I skateboard maybe 3-4 times per week, and I'm very ready and willing to bet that not only do I have a higher education, am more physically fit, have accomplished more (including reading something I wrote being on Digg..:P) than this joke of a person, but I am also far happier with my life and where I am at.
I've also seen skateboarding save many kids from many ***** life situations, like gangs. This person has no idea what they are talking about, and anyone agreeing is ignorant.
Just keep on hating everything that isn't you, you'll get there someday. - inactive, on 07/19/2009, -10/+21this was really stupid, i'm 20 and i skateboard, dumbest thing on crack i've ever read
- Keicharones, on 07/19/2009, -0/+11Skateboarding is fun. No amount of poorly written flow charts claiming it isn't cool anymore can change that.
- pantoneGhost, on 07/19/2009, -6/+16First. i am an abide skateboarder, so maybe i am biased.
i am 26, and yes, maybe underaged kids skateboard more becuase they have less to worry about,
its hard to skateboard when you have two jobs.
second, for me its not about skate to make money, or join a team,
its about skateboarding.
sad to see this article, i think the author spent to much time
paying attention to under aged boys. - MadHarvey, on 07/19/2009, -0/+9The dude abides
- Stevelizzle, on 07/19/2009, -0/+8How did this make the front page? Oh a Back To The Future reference, sweet.
- algaeturd, on 07/19/2009, -0/+8Cracked has really lost its appeal in the past year. They've gone from occasionally really funny to hardly ever funny.
Such a shame. I'd rather see one funny article from them a month then 30 ***** articles per month. - eanbowman, on 07/19/2009, -3/+11I'm a successful nerd skateboarder and I don't care if it makes me look like a moron. It's fun.
I guess it's the area too. A lot of people my age seem to skateboard. Not a large portion of the population but enough for me to notice.
*shrug*
I'm going to get burried by the Digg mob but hey, it's more fun than walking. You only live once.
Also, not everyone who skateboards does so on a busy sidewalk or otherwise endangers others.
That said, this is Cracked. It's for the lulz. :P - Retrospekt, on 07/19/2009, -1/+8Marty McFly. lol.
- Rockyn, on 07/19/2009, -1/+7A big bowl of ***** sounds like the right way to start the day if you ask me.
- inactive, on 07/19/2009, -2/+7but crack is a helluva drug
- Br0wn, on 07/19/2009, -3/+8I'm 21 and been skateboarding since age 10, everyone has their own hobby/sport and if it's something you enjoy doing, go for it.
And stop crying about it being a fashion statement, how many guys wear sport jerseys but cannot/do not play the sport. it also depends on the music the skater listens too, look at all those gangsta skurb retards. - eanbowman, on 07/19/2009, -1/+6I find it's actually more exercise than running or biking.
And it's actually FUN too. I guess all those guys who run on a treadmill staring at a blank white wall, or some girl they'll totally fail to pick up are laughing at me now. :C - eanbowman, on 07/19/2009, -2/+7I like you, sir.
You seem to be a good person. - povision, on 07/19/2009, -0/+5"Perhaps one of the most interesting words in the English language today, is the word *****. Out of all the English words that begin with the letter 'f' ...***** is the only word referred to as 'the f word... It's the one magical word. Just by its sound can describe pain, pleasure, hate and love. *****, as most words in the English language is derived from German ...the word fuieken, which means to strike.
In English, ***** falls into many grammatical categories:
As a transitive verb for instance.. John ***** Shirley.
As an intransitive verb... Shirley *****.
Its meaning is not always sexual, it can be used as...
An adjective such as... John's doing all the ***** work.
As part of an adverb... Shirley talks too ***** much.
As an adverb enhancing an adjective... Shirley is ***** beautiful.
AS A NOUN...I DON'T GIVE A *****.
As part of a word... ***** -or- *****.
And as almost every word in a sentence... ***** the ***** *****.
As you must realize, there aren't too many words with the versatility of *****...such as these examples describing situations such as:
Fraud: I got ***** at the used car lot.
Dismay: ahhh ***** it.
Trouble: I guess I'm really ***** now.
Aggression: Don't ***** with me buddy.
Difficulty: I don't understand this ***** question.
Inquiry: Who the ***** was that?
Dissatisfaction: I don't like what the ***** is going on here.
Incompetence: He's a *****-off.
Dismissal: Why don't you go outside and play hide and go ***** yourself...
I'm sure you can think of many more examples.
With all these multi-purpose applications, how can anyone be offended when you use the word. We say use this unique, flexible word more often in your daily speech.
It will identify the quality of your character immediately.
Say it loudly and proudly: ***** YOU!" - Xplorer, on 07/19/2009, -0/+5You do realize that you are arguing with a cracked.com article right?
- Rockyn, on 07/19/2009, -0/+5It really bothers me when people watch sports on tv but don't play them in real life.
- Tornawdoe, on 07/19/2009, -0/+5Well they are fruitbooters ya' know.
- inactive, on 07/19/2009, -2/+7skateboarding / longboarding is full of win. Sure there are plenty of douchebags and ***** who also skateboard (name anything without its own host of dicks). But for me, its one of the few activities that myself and my friends (27 - 31 years of age) can get together once a week and go out all night till 3 am and have a few laughs.
And you dont have to hang out at skateparks with all the other 14 yr old punks either. Sneaking into golf courses and boarding the smooth, sloping golfcart paths is one such alternate activity. Or bomb hills with your friends shooting roman candles at you is yet another fun activity. - forgedfour, on 07/19/2009, -0/+5you have good and bad people in any social group. you cant say their all a certain way because its just not true.
its called bigotry - rambomcfly, on 07/19/2009, -0/+524 and still skating
- MatchStick, on 07/19/2009, -2/+6What about longboarding? You can't really do tricks on a longboard, I mostly use mine for transportation... although I have come pretty close to getting hit by cars a few times... hmm
- squishiful, on 07/19/2009, -0/+4What if they aren't skating because they think it's cool? What if, now bear with me here, they are skateboarding because it's fun and they're just trying to have a good time, are they still a "douche?"
- CloseYetFar, on 07/19/2009, -0/+4Why is it that everyone comments on how dangerous skateboarding is when it's more likely to be fatally injured in a car accident? Same thing with airplanes. It's more likely to get killed in the car ride to the airport, then on the plane itself. If you really want to avoid natural selection then live in a closet.
- AntiMrBabyman, on 07/19/2009, -1/+5You don't think real skateboarders realize this? Brands like DC are way overrated. I also notice an increasing number of posers coming to the skatepark only to get sponsors.
Whatever happened to skateboarding for stress relief or getting away from it all..... - Ades, on 07/19/2009, -3/+7Im 27.. Skate almost every day
- AntiMrBabyman, on 07/19/2009, -0/+4Then i think the digg community should never look in the mirror...
- NickyJean, on 07/19/2009, -1/+5And then I post a Rodney Mullen video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5p4mNAEo4s - themastersb, on 07/19/2009, -0/+3Pretty sure he qualifies as an *****.
