As an HBN hater, of course I think you're a dick. Nevertheless, I too wondered about the effectiveness of mixing mock arrogance with self deprecation.Not sure it works. That's a fair point. Kudos. Since Cracked is where I spend most of my work day while I wait on project coordinators, oversight committes and other assorted douchebags I always wished it was in an office-friendly (i.e.: volume-free) format.

Gladstone, you are right that people must just not like to read anymore, because these articles are not getting dugg like HBN was... I like the attention that you pay to your critics as this can only help your career. That whole saying, "there is no failure; only feedback" I think you are getting the right idea here. Congratulations on making it through the depression and the weight-loss, those are both large accomplishments.
As one of your lucky 100 or so critics I can't be all compliments and lovey dovey with you, so I want to add this bit of criticism to about your style. You go so quickly from arrogance to self deprecation that I feel uncomfortable as a reader fully understanding the reality that you are a person with tendencies of depression and that the jokes about being over confident only reflect the absence of any real arrogance. The back side of the criticism is that you should be confident in yourself and your work because I believe you have real talent. This coming from a recently converted Gladstone hater.
