Which unfortunately breeds, and grooms, some very vicious predators over years of incarceration. Every fish in the door is considered a valuable piece of property. Jail on the other hand, most guys are still stunned about being there, and most do want to get out and go back to their normal life.
Stats were a few years ago 85% of new prison inmates are raped. This was an estimate of course, since there is no way to gather real stats when most guys deny it and try to forget about it.
Having been a prison guard for a number of years I can tell you from experience that it does happen quite a bit, and it's not just a Hollywood scenario. So be prepared for all the buttsecks you can handle when you get there. :) - Chebyshev, on 10/12/2007, -9/+45what?!?

Besides, why would you want to stop a child molester from getting all the gang raping he can handle? Not a whole lot of incentive to stop it in some situations. One of the reasons I got out. This is America, not a Uzbekistan. Our Constitution prohibits "cruel and unusual punishment" and our current prison system is exactly that if rape is as common as all the statistics say they are.

Plus the guards cannot be everywhere all of the time - hence why some of the prisoners are placed into solitary confinement for their own protection.

Getting flash video off of a site is pretty easy, and then you can play it in a number of different players. There are even a number of programs that will convert the file for you.

Be assured I did my best to do my duty without prejudice. Most of the time I tried to avoid even looking in an inmate's file to see what he was in for to make it easier, but it's hard to miss a guy that shows up with black eyes every other day. I'll make this quick. No. The prison guard's primary responsibility is to ensure the continued legal encarceration of inmates. Everything else is secondary.
