- pmcall221, on 10/12/2007, -1/+45At first I thought it was a bit overkill with the automatic weapons. Boy was I wrong! Who knew computer geeks in Nigeria would be so violent?
- achoo5000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+42And I love how they are taking all those monitors for "evidence."
- johal55, on 10/12/2007, -3/+30I love how at 1:24 the scammer gets smacked so hard
- Jowitz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+23Check out this group of people who bait 419 scammers. http://www.419eater.com/
- Saintlink, on 10/12/2007, -1/+23Who says we aren't armed to the teeth here in the United States? :-D
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18The guy bitch slapping the suspect in the cyber cafe and the other guy screaming like a girl when they were driving away from it and the gunfire...that made my day.
- justinmt7, on 10/12/2007, -5/+22Around 1:26 it looks like one of them gets bitch slapped. That's awesome.
- radarx, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18Did anyone watch the end when stones and then bullets were sent toward the confiscators? Seems that these people were some sort of local heroes for stealing money from 'Westerners".
- Saintlink, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17Great news! If other countries in the world started to do this with malware vendors and spammers we could all smile and chuckle.
- sandig, on 10/12/2007, -5/+17Why were they taking the computer monitors? What incriminating information could they hold?
- crilen007, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12You know that the ones firing guns and throwing stones were the criminals right?
- mrpizza, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11no but if youve seen any other raid involving computers, they take everything, even the mouse and keyboard...
and im talking about the US... - Nougat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10http://www.okopipi.org (in development)

There's your counter-spam hacking clans. - ridgelawrence, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13That video made my day.
Digg+ - Dakoman, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12what made my day is that they were all dells
- spkaine, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9I loved when the cop SMACKED that kid!!!
It was loud! Take that! - wbreim, on 10/12/2007, -5/+12I think diggers should unite and for some type of counter-spam hacking clan and go after these people and take control over their machines and do some damage if it takes then one day to get back up and running that's one day less of evil
- Archon810, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8The question is how many of these will pay off to get out of jail? I mean, the country is probably full of corruption and it's easy for millionaires to get out of anything.
- mattvogt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8That's retarded. It's like saying that because you don't know how to replace the transmission in your car you deserve to be screwed on how much it costs.
- MOJIRA, on 05/17/2008, -2/+8I agree with your comments - funny stuff, but I'd like to say:
I don't think Nigera is easily compared to the US (not that you were seriously comparing the two). People are desperate, really desperate. The email scammers aren't nerds, they're desperate people and/or criminals who just figured that they could use computers to get money from rich westerners which to us seems ***** but to them seems like justice when the US government doesn't do ***** for Africa and sends its money into Iraq and supplies other countries like Israel with weapons that eventually lead to wars that the US government claims it must pre-empt to defend itself when really we were all better off before.
Also, I saw this comment on the youtube comments and I thought it was worth pasting:
"PENIX (2 hours ago):
They're all scammers, even the cops. They're going to sell the monitors and pocket the cash."
I think that's right. Simply because, why confiscate the LCD's all you really need the HDD and I'm sure they know that.
It's corruption from desperation. I'm more concerned with rapists and murders and less concerned with middle or upper class morons who think that the email they got is actually legit and they need to pay someone an undisclosed amount.
Note: I'm a US citizen and I love the US so don't jump on my back. - crilen007, on 10/12/2007, -4/+10Dude, they have dells.
- eSonic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6They are part of the equipment used for criminal activities. It's not only confiscated for evidence but also possible damages.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Or to build an awesome home cinema!
- Sukino, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Because there is no crime in the West. .. and idiots such as you.
- nietsnie, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Hobbla: I couldn't agree more! If people are dumb enouhg to lose their money to these people, then they probably should never have had the money in the first place. And as Nigeria is such a poor country, these scammers are the CEO's and Presidents of their city. While in the West these people are often protected by the government, in Nigeria the opposite is happening. (Althouhg the counter argument that the scammers are performing illegal activities, and CEO's in the West who perform illegal activities are also taken down by the government, is also valid). Hmm...
- diargasm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The difference is that crime in the West is not accepted as being justified by the masses.
- falcon707, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3"Stand where you are! And if you move, you get yourself into trouble!"
- shout, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7That's great! that dude gets smacked pretty good!
- distrbnce, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Makes deleting spam seem relatively easy.
- mkp2k4, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3They probably took the monitors so they can hook up all the computers at once - they have enough guys for them to each take one computer and check it
- 4ndr3wk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The show can be downloaded from www.uknova.com if your lucky enough to randomly be given an account.
really interesting to watch, they also bought some hard-drives and visited the original owners basically telling them their lives on that HD
some more background on that story too
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/real_story/4791167.stm - eSonic, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Yeah, unfortunately that's how they're usually seen in theit community. Hence the size of the problem.
- jmann, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Here's an awesome video made by Nigerians about scammers, called "I chop your dollar." It's pretty funny.
http://digg.com/videos_comedy/Nigerian_scammers_make_cheezy_dance_video
I guess poor Nigerians scamming stupid Americans is one way to end global poverty... - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I used to lookup the header info on junk emails ,, it's amazing what servers can be found if you do an old fashioned unix "dig" on the domains too.
Sometimes junk mail comes from hacked pc's as well, and they can be wide open. I was able to telnet into one of them using the "computer name" in the header, turns out it was a pc in a wal mart type of store, had some kindof pricing system in it. - SpacePope, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Why does that first guy that speaks have korean on his vest?
- danjal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Man, there not shooting cause of the raid, but how will they check www.digg.com now!
- PAJK, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Is this whole programme available for download, does anyone know? Seems pretty interesting.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Because the west had no hand in the development of Africa.. you're a ***** moron.
The west has raped and pillaged just about every culture on the face of this earth in the name of either 1) God or 2) the hunt for wealth/natural resources.
These countries have not advanced because of the ***** colonization methods and social orders set up by the west and used during the 1800's. Go read a ***** history book. - gd007, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1dell dimension. that's exactly what i have.
- TTimo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4So those scams are actually run by Nigerians? I don't doubt the idea originated from there, but I thought it was now being done all over the world :-)
- alexrandall, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I was wondering that myself. I could make out "United" but not the 2nd word. Looks like police vest, not military, they might just imported the vest from Korea.
- Frawg, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1All great empires progress due to a titanic overabundance of morality.
- coldhead, on 03/05/2008, -0/+0http://zamarcafe.com
- radarx, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4Gotta love those lax rules about hitting prisoners.
- diargasm, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2China and Korea were once occupied by the Japanese and colonized by them as well, but since they have developed into one of the more powerful economies of the world. Blaming it on Colonization is a poor excuse. South Africa used to be a First World Country, it is now a haven for violence and crime. I agree with Urusai that a lack of discipline contributes to the country's poverty and immorality.
- Volred, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2The police take the monitors, cause there could be fingerprints on the monitors which would tie the computers to certain people, and maybe others who did not work that day.
- CBTF, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Wait, so they dont really want to invest in my country...?
Edit: Lmao, anyone else see the guy in the backround gettin smacked around? - fdelucio, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1In Nigeria they hold hard drives inside the monitors
- Fimus, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3Wow. "These scammers are the Presidents and CEOs of their city [sic]"
I don't understand how some of you can make such blatant statements about Nigeria without any source of information. From what I know, a master's degree is considered to be the minimum one has to acquire to be considered well educated, and many continue on to earn their Ph.Ds in the United States. Many people want to continue their education in the United States - the only people who would support breaking the law like that would be criminals.
The people who were throwing the rocks were criminals.
Please don't make stupid statements. -
