- philman467, on 02/05/2008, -5/+45apparently 2girls1cup wasn't staged... it was actually just a hidden camera
- 93TILL503, on 02/05/2008, -4/+28The internet aka the land of broken promises and disappointment.
- yohnstoppable, on 02/05/2008, -0/+15It was proven when it was originally posted, when the guys admitted it was fake. And the guys in the video were wearing items from further in that very dungeon, which proves it was all staged. Even without that, the 33.33 repeating chance of survival comment makes it pretty obvious, anyway.
- inactive, on 02/05/2008, -4/+18what about the bride who cut off all her hair?
- PhantomRogue, on 02/05/2008, -0/+12Doesn't make it any less hilarious.
- inactive, on 02/05/2008, -6/+16I knew of every one of them... guess you don't use the internets enough.
- dualityim, on 02/05/2008, -1/+11Dugg for Michael Scott and Dwight Schrute having a conversation in the comments section.
- jlungu, on 02/05/2008, -3/+12OH GOD I SHOULD HAVE TAKEN DULCOEASE ...
- Gaulven, on 02/05/2008, -0/+7Basically his friends devise a plan while he's away, and Leeory comes back and ruins it all. But that's glossing over all the details.
There are several things to laugh at, actually. First it's obvious that it's staged -- all the characters are sitting around in a neat circle. In reality everyone points their toons towards the object of interest -- the doorway, or the boss mob.
They're also wearing armor from bosses past the one they're fighting towards and there's some humor there in a rather unsubtle "This is obviously staged" way.
The fact that a Paladin wants cloth gear reminds just about everyone of that special somebody they know who wants to itemize their gear in a retarded manner, removing their natural advantages to try to half-ass be a class that they aren't.
The overplanning and overcalculation makes fun of overcontrolling raid and guild leaders who think that thinking about a stupid plan enough will make it work. The plan itself has hillarious flaws (divine intervention). And the area they're walking into is pretty easy, with an easy concept to grasp.
Then Leeroy comes back. Almost everyone in any raiding guild knows someone like Leeroy -- They're AFK a lot of the time, you have to wait for them to come back. Or they come back early and ***** around, and wipe the raid ("I didn't know I wasn't suppose to touch that!"). They need the plan repeated to them. They're constantly out of the loop. Eventually they stop asking to be informed after the fact and just try to fake their way through an encounter, and make a completely stupid mistake that wipes the raid. Leeroy represents the extreme of this persona.
So yeah, if you haven't played WoW, there's practically no reason to watch the video cause you only get the stupid shock value of someone yelling "Leeeeerooyyyyy!" - bfron110, on 02/05/2008, -0/+6that clip has forever ruined my life.... I cant look at things the same... comment buried for reminding me of the clip

- Tiphys, on 02/05/2008, -0/+5...wtf?
- Chirp08, on 02/05/2008, -0/+5but seriously you are awful
- forensicmeteobo, on 02/05/2008, -0/+5Uh... it's not meant to be either 1) a real tutorial or 2) obviously real.
It's satire. No, it's not stupid funny that is what most of the crap on YouTube is these days, it's comedy. - Inquisition, on 02/05/2008, -0/+4Dug you up for being the only Digger I have seen that thanks someone for their post.
Thanks - Gaulven, on 02/05/2008, -0/+4Actually, I learned about using paths to select and draw from the 4th video. I felt I needed paths for something, then went back and watched the video again to see how to use them (it was the little tab I never clicked on before because I suck at Photoshop).
Thought it was pretty funny to use it as a tutorial, but if you don't know the tools he uses... they might as well be a tutorial. In fact presenting material with a good bit of humor might increase retention rates. Most of my favorite professors in classes where I learned a lot were funny or told jokes about the material. Might be on to something there. - inactive, on 02/06/2008, -1/+5Talk about faked videos!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zTX3CZqDyOA - jmaxwell, on 02/05/2008, -0/+4Fake
- ichbeineinrcg, on 02/05/2008, -0/+4Well, you need to stay in more.
- Hoogs, on 02/05/2008, -0/+4Thank you for explaining Gaulven. And yeah, the only part that was amusing to me was when the guy yells "Leeerroy!"
- danarama, on 02/06/2008, -0/+4Leave Britney Alone
- DCJoeDogaswell, on 02/05/2008, -0/+4God I love the block list.
- steveboutin, on 02/05/2008, -2/+6the numa numa video was staged too - that kid knows he's a goofy looking fatass and people love to watch goofy looking fatasses dance to stupid songs.
- yohnstoppable, on 02/05/2008, -0/+4Just feed some meth to a special ed class and you'll get the same type of comments as youtube. A tad more intelligent, but similar
- BoneheadFarker, on 02/05/2008, -0/+4@Hoogs
See what I mean about geeks taking things WAAAAAAAY too seriously? - paidhima, on 02/05/2008, -1/+5Why is it always geeks that take things too seriously? Have you never seen guys at a football game in the middle of the winter with no shirt on, spelling out the name of their team across their chests and painting their faces? Or guys/girls that spend 30 minutes "doing" their hair every time they go out. And those pretentious pricks driving a Lexus, Benz or BMW with retarded MNYMKR vanity plates?
I just don't get how people talk about geeks as if every single one is a basement-dwelling troll. - elshizzo, on 02/05/2008, -0/+4So the angry german kid was an act all along....the internets must be dissapointed
- bonk2k, on 02/06/2008, -0/+3Watching the Angry German Kid video with the subtitles and knowing that it was a fake actually makes it a lot funnier to me. That kid's comedic acting is impressive.
- GreenGrassyNoel, on 02/05/2008, -0/+2I have only seen the Pauly Shore one.
- Gaulven, on 02/05/2008, -0/+2It's true that crushing objects of desire is fun and funny but that doesn't really come into play.
The video's obviously staged so nothing is crushed (unfortunately). It makes fun of WoW and all the ***** that people put up with to play the group-required content of that game. - BoneheadFarker, on 02/05/2008, -1/+3Geeks who take things WAAAAAAAY too seriously are funny when their object of desire is crushed. That's it. It's the same feeling you get when you watch a LARPer falling over his cardboard sword and ruining his hand-crafted leather armour, or a Trekkie having his vintage tricorder smashed in the parking lot of the convention center. The Germans knew this concept...
- anselm83, on 02/05/2008, -2/+4Hey cool, a story spread out over 3 pages. Damn, that's so convenient.
- trusttimothy, on 02/07/2008, -0/+2If you watch the other (presumably unknown outside of germany) it is clear, that it is not real. E.g. his "real gangsta" clips: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gtW9pXma-JE -- He does not think he is a "real gangsta" but making fun of all these hiphop asshats.
- doshindude, on 02/06/2008, -0/+2Anyone else think "Viral Videos" are retarded? I don't even like to read or hear the term "Viral Video," it sounds so noobish......
- steveboutin, on 02/05/2008, -1/+3"leeeeeeroy jenkins" was the only one i've seen, and i knew it was staged before i even watched it.
- Varz, on 02/06/2008, -0/+2Counter Strike hacker video
"If you want traffic, try recording yourself performing some kind of unjust destruction of valuable property."
Unjust my ass if I was there and I knew someone was hacking I would at least push their computer of the desk, those wankers deserve it. They ***** up the game for everyone else. - mmmmmbiscuits, on 02/06/2008, -1/+3A CLASSIC!! Palestinian propaganda flicks have worse continuity than "Manos The Hands of Fate" yet the world media laps it up.
- Fhwqhgads, on 02/05/2008, -12/+13I think they took the Fox news anchor's statement out of context. I don't think he meant he hoped the lady got hurt.
More likely he hoped they weren't broadcasting falsified footage. ..... although this is fox news we're talking about here - BoneheadFarker, on 02/05/2008, -0/+1I thought it was funny because a bunch of geeks (seemingly) spent a lot of time planning and preparing, only for it to be ruined by someone just playing the damn game and having fun. And when he said "At least I ain't chicken..." at the end.
- donna1234, on 07/16/2008, -0/+1The last few years have seen the rise of the staged viral video

http://www.zzzn.org - 2shae, on 02/05/2008, -0/+1The only one I know is the "Waitress falls threw window"
The rest I've never even heard about. - GhostyBoy, on 02/05/2008, -1/+2I liked the Fox news bashing and the fact that they referred to MSM as the Old Media, all in the context of how unreliable the internet is. This article actually has some merit.
- scoottie, on 02/05/2008, -1/+1i actually saw a similar thing like #6 happen at a quakecon once
- BoneheadFarker, on 02/06/2008, -0/+0The guys that stand outside during a football game with no shirt on, painted up like freaks, and acting insane are generally middle aged fat guys and college frat boys. Coincidentally this demographic makes up a large portion of the geek population too.
The girls that spend hours in front of a mirror before they go out, those are the ones I like to look at. Not take home, because that's way too high maintenance. I have no comment about men who spend hours in front of the mirror.
The pretentious pricks driving a Lexus, Benz or BMW with retarded MNYMKR vanity plates...they have money, since they could afford all that. So generally that means they're getting laid on a regular basis. It's fun to laugh at them, but they don't invoke that same sense that geeks do.
Not all geeks are basement-dwelling trolls. Some are. Well...many are. But not all. I'm in a second-story apartment...that's clearly above ground. And I plan on getting a house one day. Anyways, geeks are just more fun to laugh at...apparently... - wukillabee, on 02/05/2008, -8/+7wheres Chris Angell and David Blaine?
- sloppyjoes7, on 02/05/2008, -7/+6This article was written by David Wong: the Snopes of comedy writers.
Glad Cracked.com hired him. - Darkswarm, on 02/08/2008, -1/+0I go on the Internet quite enough and I have only seen Leeroy Jenkins and the Angry German Kid. Do you really think that, just because you have seen these clips, that everyone else has? I'm sure I can think of a few videos that I've seen many times that you have never heard of that would be better than some of these anyway. Please open your closed mind.
- Tiler, on 02/05/2008, -5/+3Say it ain't so, Leeroy! My reality is crumbling.
