- guregu, on 10/12/2007, -2/+43Actually, he said 1998. You lose.
- shirosamurai, on 10/12/2007, -1/+31Dane Cook is an obnoxious snob compared to Mitch Hedberg. His hyper pseudo-tantrum jokes get pretty old after awhile.
- reddevil3, on 10/12/2007, -2/+29Did somebody just compare Dane Cook and Mitch Hedberg?
- Flawless, on 10/12/2007, -3/+31"All McDonalds commercials end the same way: "prices and participation may vary." I want to open my own McDonalds and not participate in anything. I want to be a stubborn McDonalds owner. "Cheeseburgers? Nope. We got spaghetti!...and blankets! But we are not affiliated with that clown. He attracts too many children."
George Carlin aside, Mitch Hedberg is the funniest comic ever. - tidu, on 10/12/2007, -6/+26Maybe that's the joke? Maybe he's a time-traveler. Safety is not guaranteed.
- jbrevik, on 10/12/2007, -4/+17Dane Cook = Not funny.
- gamabunta, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13I remember him dying the day before April Fool's. Everyone thought it was some kind of sick joke he was playing (ala Andy Kaufman.) After it was posted on his site that it was not a joke his albums sold like wildfire.
R.I.P. man. - elzilcho, on 10/12/2007, -3/+14"Hedberg"
- RIPmitch, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11“An escalator can never break: it can only become stairs. You would never see an Escalator Temporarily Out Of Order sign, just Escalator Temporarily Stairs. Sorry for the convenience.”
For those of you who have not, run out and buy both of his albums. "Mitch All Together" and "Strategic Grill Locations" They are pure comedy gold.
We love you Mitch, RIP. - catmistake, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9"I used to do drugs. I still do, but I used to, too."-M.H.
Mitch was great... when he told jokes... it was like listening to music... funny funny music. - Automatic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Mitch Hedberg
potential lunch winner - eetadic, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12oh.
my.
god.
look above.
or...
watch the video.
he says: "i was here in 1998... they didn't bring me back for 3 years."
1998 + 3 = 2001.
it was filmed in 2001. - eetadic, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9he died about 2 years ago (if i remember correctly).
it was reported to be a heart attack, although mitch was in and out of drug trouble with heroin, and waddyaknow... heroin overdoses can lead to heart failure.
he was awesome though, i saw him 3 times live. great shows. - Jacques67, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11Demetri Martin is a fair comparison...
- redrighthand, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8I very much miss his comedy. It was his dry wit and ability to laugh and his own dumb jokes when they didnt play out that made him an even more entertaining comic.
He only died a few years ago from a heart attack most likely cause from drug abuse. - igraham09, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7hot damn was he funny
- mozzep, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9Yea, if the submitter really has so much respect for him, then the least that could have been done is to spell his name correctly.
- kazaru, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5bunch of mitch
http://www.smithappens.com/video_mitchhedberg.php - n3rrd, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6...lol, man. Mitch is so funny, it's sad that he died. Where the hell did the poster get "80"s from? Submitted a video without even watching it.
- christoscamaro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5That was a big compliment. He's a funny guy, totally my type of humor.
- dvgraphics, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Wikiquote also has a really good list:
http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Mitch_Hedberg
Mitch had the best one-liners ever. - RIPmitch, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6You really don't need to come here and crap all over the thread.
Really, you don't. - bowiestyle, on 10/12/2007, -12/+16"Almost 6 minute long clip of an older show(maybe late 80s)."
He says in his very first joke, "I was here in 1996.... I haven't been here in 3 years"
I'd try the math again. - n3rrd, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4His mother original said it was heart complications, but the wikipedia entry for Mitch mentions that it was due to drugs. His addiction got really out of control leading up to his death.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitch_Hedburg#Death - Four20, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Yes he died on the night of March 31st, the announcement was on April 1st, so everyone thought it was a joke.
Plus the fact the first source was from the Howard Stern Show. . .people thought it just didn't add up.
March 31st is supposed 'Mitch Hedberg Day'.

So I'm not good at match or spelling, I'm a stoner, do I need more of an excuse? - 703_KN33, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5This late 90's early 00's ...definatley not late 80's
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6Always liked that guy . First time I saw him was on Just For laughs.
He over dosed and die, if you guys were wondering. - tito13kfm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3You know that Pepperidge Farm bread, that stuff is fancy. That stuff is wrapped twice. You open it, and it still ain't open. That's why I don't buy it, I don't need another step between me and toast.
I had a bag of Fritos, but these were Texas Grilled Fritos. These Fritos had grill marks on them. Hell yeah. Reminds me of summer time, when we used to fire up the barbeque and throw down some Fritos. I can still see my dad with the apron on. "Better flip that Frito, Dad. You know how I like mine: with grill marks."
Mitch is probably my all time favorite comedian. Sam Kinison, Mitch Hedberg, John Belushi, Andy Kaufman.... All amazing talents who died way too young.
Off topic... In line spell checking freaking ROCKS!! - elroy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2very funny guy. very, VERY high on coke in this clip.
- everfalling, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1died march 29th 2005
- bjkrautk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Last I checked, both of Mitch's albums were available for download at eMusic.
Whoever owns the film rights needs to put "Los Enchiladas" (comedy film with Mitch and Dave Attell, among others) out on DVD. - Eleo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3He died way too early :(
- pentomino, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The most tragic part of the Hedberg story is what the police found on his body.
It was an open roll of Life-Savers, and pineapple was next. - ZenMojo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Agreed. When/how did he die?
- Jaymz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Thank you for the links pixelate, I agree this video definitely was not a good introduction to his work.
- there4iam, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2We all do . . .
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Is it just me or has youtube been extremely slow lately?
- diggduggjoe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2You have to wonder, how someone with such stage fright could do standup? He looked like he was about to ***** his pants most of the time in the videos, yet his material was awesome. Like others here, the escalator joke was perfection.
Was he as hard core with drugs before his success? It makes me wonder, if he would have lived longer, if he sucked. The more success he had the more he would be forced to appear in public. It would be a sick form of hell, the better it gets, the more it hurts. It was hard to watch all the links, as you would pick up on his stress, yet his jokes kicked ass. - diggduggjoe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Maybe he was just a deaf person seeing the leisure suit.
- alexpigment, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2haha. nicely done.
- DrNoDoze, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is pretty good, but definitely not the best mitch out there.
- SadBeef, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1when it first was announced i thought it was an april fools joke :(
- Djerrid, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2There are a lot of great ones in the Wiki.
I think a rotisserie is like a really morbid ferris wheel for chickens. It's a strange piece of machinery... "We will take the chicken, kill it, impale it, and then rotate it. And I'll be darned if I'm not hungry! Because spinning chicken carcasses make my mouth water! I like dizzy chicken. With a side of potatoes of some sort." - pentomino, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I was in Seattle when it happened, and it was also the week that Terry Schiavo and Pope John Paul //e died.
- chrispen, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Sad deal that he died, I saw him about two weeks before he died. Unfortunately the crowd did him no justice but my group of friends and I made up for it.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I ***** love Mitch -- why does God take the funny ones? Why cant Andy Rooney croak? Why Steve Irwin, why not Bill O'Reilly?
- dazzlezak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Saw Mitch live several years ago, in Cincinnati.
He was hilarious.
My wife and I both left feeling better than when we walked in. Isn't that a comedian's goal?
RIP Mitch. - MackPrime, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1good question, where's mencia's lightning bolt
- NextGenXbox, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1One of the best comedians EVER. Too bad he ODed on drugs. - Drugs always seem to take the great ones from us. :(
