- socialpyramid, on 11/11/2009, -10/+342Turtles are cool. Crazy stubborn bastards have hung on through millions of years of evolution.
- Mezz43, on 11/11/2009, -13/+332I like turdles
- capyoda, on 11/11/2009, -3/+320TMNT Hiring Committee: That is an impressive resume. You're hired.
- twiztidsinz, on 11/11/2009, -3/+207Leela: Bender, a turtle isn't yourself. Why do you care about it?
Bender: Because I also care deeply about things that remind me of myself, like poor little Shelly here.
Hermes Conrad: What could you possibly have in common with that walking soup mix?
Bender: For one thing, we both have a tough outer shell but live a rich inner life. And also... well, you know.
Leela: You're both alcoholic, whore-mongering, chain-smoking gamblers?
Bender: No, it's just... neither of us can get up when we get knocked on our back.
Fry: What? I've seen you get up off your back tons of times.
Bender: Those times I was slightly on my side. - Joe_rigby, on 11/12/2009, -0/+200When I was at a scout camp in Indiana, there was a leader taking us through the wildlife part -- they had all kinds of different animals in one center.
In the room where they kept turtles, fish, etc, he took a turtle and put it on its back in the center of a table where everyone was sitting. He said, "Now, this turtle will defy everything you've known about turtles for the longest time, and do what every turtle and animal can do!"
Then, almost on cue, the turtle took a big upside down ***** on the table. - reelskamachine, on 11/11/2009, -2/+187There's hope for Bender!
- tnoy, on 11/11/2009, -1/+129and occasionally becomes a soup.
- x2cprincess, on 11/12/2009, -2/+128Nah, it's like the story of the grasshopper and the octopus. All year long, the grasshopper kept burying acorns for winter, while the octopus mooched off his girlfriend and watched TV. But then the winter came, and the grasshopper died, and the octopus ate all his acorns and also he got a racecar. Is any of this getting through to you?
- eddyb123, on 11/11/2009, -7/+132To put this in perspective, I will be equally impressed when humans fly.
- namja23, on 11/11/2009, -7/+122Break dancin turtle!

- Azhnul, on 11/11/2009, -2/+72Not only is this not impossible...it's actually quite ordinary. Turtles right themselves all the time...most have evolved to do so.
- TYDZN, on 11/12/2009, -0/+69Did not expect that ending, that actually mad me laugh out loud!
- AgentRoyIV, on 11/12/2009, -0/+65Interesting, maybe we should test this erectile dysfunction of yours Bender....
- FallingDonkey, on 11/11/2009, -3/+62I was waiting for Mario to stomp that ***** and kick it's shell across the room while a homeless turtle skittered about wearing boxers. Now that would have been impossible.
- SNESChalmers, on 11/12/2009, -0/+43Goddammit, I logged in specifically to make the erectile dysfunction joke
- EVILTHETURTLE, on 11/11/2009, -0/+40***** you.
- StairwayWit, on 11/11/2009, -7/+42Dear lord... a turtle's ONLY weakness is the fact they can't flip over while on their backs, and yet this one DID.
People, its only a matter of time before we are bowing down to our new turtle overlords. - Joghobs, on 11/12/2009, -1/+33*Giant raptor eats your face*

- theword12, on 11/11/2009, -3/+28Meh. I've already seen a turtle do that on Futurama.
- dpknc84, on 11/12/2009, -0/+25Anyone else instantly think of Bender?
http://www.hulu.com/watch/65745/futurama-thrusting ... - HesComing, on 11/12/2009, -1/+23All right! Mezz43, you're a great Zombie!
- jerrdalton, on 11/11/2009, -2/+24I can't believe you're being dugg down for speaking plain truth. I watched this happen a million times when i was a kid. People should get out more.
- jerrdalton, on 11/11/2009, -0/+19All water turtles can do this...snapping turtles, soft-shell, etc. Their necks are very long and strong so they can reach the surface with their nostrils/mouth in order to breathe and without exposing their body to the surface. This makes them especially capable of doing this with no problem. A snapping turtle can reach almost all the way to the back of their shell by stretching their neck out.
