Though it's not namebrand some of their flavors actually much tastier and higher quality than any of the more expensive options. You need to try Moose Tracks, which comes in a mint, chocolate, or vanilla base. I generally opt for the mint and vanilla versions because it offers a satisfying contrast to the fudgy bits within the medium.

    There is also a local brand here called Tillamook and their ice cream is of the most premium content I have come across. It is often on sale and when it is I pick up a half-dozen boxes of the creamed gold to last me till the end of the week. My particular favorite taste-bud orgasm inducing Tillamook flavor is their chocolate peanutbutter orgy.

    Tonight I mixed the mint 'Private Selection' Moose Tracks with the fresh Tillamook Choco Peanutbutter and snipped a few banana slices on top for a momentous success of a dessert. As of right now I am picking up a spoon and diving in, as I gently reach the smooth tip of the head to my eager lips and caress the drool-worthy cream into the crevices of my mouth.
