  • morocka, on 09/05/2008, -0/+3have you never read "The Giving Tree" by Shel Silverstein? It is pretty much exactly like that and is considered one of the greatest children's stories of all time.

    Obviously silverstein's version is a bit less graphic, but it is still basically the same story. Boy takes advantage of tree his whole life until finally killing the tree to make a boat then uses the tree stump as a seat when he's an old man. Throughout all the abuse the tree is happy it can be useful.
