hahahah good ol' iTunes - lava, on 10/12/2007, -9/+133None of them highlighted the real differences between mac and pc, only the perception of their users. I don't think those are as effective. I wish they made one like this:
"Hi, PC, what are you doing?"
"Playing Half-Life 2..." - mntalkase, on 10/12/2007, -7/+102PC: "Are you high??"
....
Mac: "Humm? - theone3, on 10/12/2007, -2/+69Unrestricted trading...with other zunes...that are running linux....
- celestial, on 10/12/2007, -5/+60*runs to make website about his cat*
- raptordrew, on 10/12/2007, -10/+59...Who said the original ads were entirely true?
- SoundJudgment, on 10/12/2007, -15/+57Alright!!! Finally some payback.
- Pentagonian, on 10/12/2007, -6/+40it's all there in one of those boring spreadsheets
- Evoguy, on 10/12/2007, -5/+39Not true!? Wait... there's a hint of untruth in these commercials (Answer: no)? Certainly that doesn't happen in the official Apple commercials.. no way.
- shaun1018, on 10/12/2007, -9/+41When they finally get linux on the Zune the real fun will begin. Unrestricted trading, wireless sync, web browsing... I can't wait.
- Evoguy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+31Are you high?
- celestial, on 10/12/2007, -4/+32http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-L-0s-7-Z0
- Frankie4Fingers, on 10/12/2007, -1/+28But these types of funny spoofs have been around a while. These are just spoofs, not actual PC manufacturer's commercials. The problem is, there is not one PC manufacturer, there are many. Apple is just picking on all of them, which is easy to do when you are the one company that sells a product and there are many competitors with no one message.
- monospaced, on 10/12/2007, -18/+45Anyone who knows anything about the Zune knows it doesn't really "share" that well. It squirts, three times in your face, and then makes you pay for it if you want it again.
- NSMike, on 10/12/2007, -5/+31Whoa whoa whoa... You can't use -Mike as your signature. I'm Mike.
- imdwalrus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+25Not a stereotype?
One wheel on a unicycle, one button on an Apple mouse...it makes perfect sense! ;) - manifestdata, on 10/12/2007, -1/+24Look at this nerd. I wonder if he takes the Original Mac ads this seriously, I thought the PC users were supposed to be the tight-asses.
- briguymaine, on 10/12/2007, -2/+25eh boy... I'm a mac user who rides a unicycle (really) ... uh jeez...
- MikeSobe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+21I still like the Apple Switch Parody the best....
http://youtube.com/watch?v=rEvYETWVK6M
'USE IT AS A BOAT ANCHOR' - altjeringa, on 10/12/2007, -3/+21they tried but the linux users insisted that the broadcast network open source all their content before the commercials could be aired. i think they you can get them over irc if you know the right channel.
- Evoguy, on 10/12/2007, -3/+21Wait... let me guess... you think the originals are Hi-larious don't you.
- NSMike, on 10/12/2007, -2/+20Enough about you, what about the videos?
- Evoguy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17Haha at Frankie4Fingers
"Linux doesn't really do anything other then run small servers and run command line stuff."... awesome, just awesome. Take two guesses at what is serving this webpage, and like 80% of the internet...hmmm?
"Open source crap"... not even worth it. - Laokaplow, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16I actually know a guy who is a mac user and rides a unicycle, didn't know it was a stereotype.
- manifestdata, on 10/12/2007, -6/+20bahahaha. You are right, in the girl part, the Mac would totally never hang out with a guy like that...he looks nothing like a baddass like the "Woz".
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+17Is there any about linux? :P
- MikeKnoop, on 10/12/2007, -4/+15While however incredibly lame their "3 play" DRM is, obviously they were referring to the Zune's ABILITY to share songs for free.
-Mike - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13Finally, some truth in the world. Dugg.
- altjeringa, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12because being cool is historically being irresponsible. which means you are broke all the time. it's funny man.... laugh. even my mac was laughing while I watched those!
:) - bysin, on 10/12/2007, -5/+14@Frankie4Fingers
Are you ***** stupid? Have you ever seen linux before? - eplawless, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I'm Spartacus
- daridave, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9in other words:
Macs do what they do real good, but with a PC, you can do much more.
Hey, I love both ... I'm not picking anybody's side... but that is the real story behind it.
Quality versus quantity... though because of price and modding capabilities, I'm on a PC right now. - thecahos1, on 10/12/2007, -6/+13@lava
what it should really say is......
"Hi, MAC, what are you doing?"
"Playing Half-Life 2..."
......natively on a pc........ - NSMike, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Yeah, but that was the last ad campaign that used cleverly bland music with white, formless backdrops.
- foolfromhell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Better Linux one
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rjpn3L3bSJQ&mode=related&search= - mikeazorin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I've been on digg way before any of you.
- sparkrainfir, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4sorry this comment is late. i was up all night making a web-site for my cat.
- vanzan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5lol this is awesome
- TubaTechno, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6no, those spreadsheets that were created in most of the major companies in the US....create with Windows.
- nebben, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Bring back Ellen Feiss! Ellen Feiss
- D3koy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Finally we get to see more ads that are at least showing the other sides...there are still much funnier possibilities for PC...
Like:
You see mac and PC, then dozens of other guys in suits come in, then they take off their suits(to reveal casual clothes) and then they play laser tag...then Hodgeman says "See, PCs can have fun too!" - Pureeviljester, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I love the last one!
Okay...
...for a buck - omababy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5it's funny because it's true
- reddevil3, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6How is it a terrible marketing campaign? Sure, it's false but the fact that this theme has been going on for such a long time means that the ads are highly successful. Plus there's no denying that Macs (and in general Apple) are getting more and more popular.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3that was just plain lame
- adampana7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2You know, i've only been using digg for a few months now, but there's one thing i've noticed: if avid digg users could choose between a threesome with cindy crawford and pamela anderson OR a threesome with kevin rose and steve jobs.........they would sadly go for kevin and steve.
- gModo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4yea the girl one makes no sense to me
all the girls on my campus have macs if thats what your getting at
but i guess the money thing makes sense, if you like gold diggers - Annt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I love my PC... I dont mind Mac... Why the hell does everything have to be a fight between people and our electronics. Mac did start it... but PC isnt helping the situation now. I guess I'll live.
- andergriff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I've always been a Mac person (since 1986), but I loved this. The stereotypes are perfect. At least the PC crowd knows their audience. Excellent casting.
- Evoguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2They are referring to the Zune sharing capabilities genius
