          I had a friend who corrected me when I said 'all intents and purposes' once. He had actually gone his entire life thinking the phrase was 'all intensive purposes', and correcting everybody every time he heard it being said. Apparently I was the first one to counter-correct him (which he put down to 'rudeness', naturally), but he wouldn't believe me. Apparently his version 'made more sense'. Far be it for me to ruin his delusion.

          Still, one must remember that this is the internet, where everybody is an expert. On everything. Ever.
