Scuttlebutt has it that the pole was there first, and the developers built the house around it. - Lucas123, on 07/11/2009, -4/+383I'd like to think it's a house placement fail.
- Xaevier, on 07/11/2009, -5/+244Well on the bright side they don't have to worry about people using their drive way to make U-turns.
- texodore, on 07/11/2009, -5/+178Is this appearing on the digg homepage the equivalent of a slow news day? Because this is dumb.
- das7282, on 07/11/2009, -12/+152I'm getting so sick of the word "FAIL". It was dumb when people first started using it and it's even dumber now.
- benroy, on 07/11/2009, -17/+136Looks like the driveway has a boner.
- robert99a, on 07/11/2009, -66/+183fake
- hawkeyeracer, on 07/11/2009, -1/+87I thought it was fake too. Thanks for confirming
- Contradictions, on 07/11/2009, -4/+68How do you make a U-turn on a straight driveway? A T-turn might be possible, but it wouldn't be a U unless they drove over your lawn too.
- victorguttmann, on 07/11/2009, -1/+57"Mr. Mayor we need to eminent domain about 4 square feet on Elm Street."
- ceruleanocte, on 07/11/2009, -0/+50so google is in on this prank too huh?
- h4beba, on 07/11/2009, -1/+50I guess you could say it has wood.
- jimminy, on 07/11/2009, -2/+44Perhaps the telephone pole is just going home after a hard day's work.
- scotchw, on 07/11/2009, -0/+39Go take pics for us!
- eejbm, on 07/11/2009, -0/+36that's just up the road from me!
- thegallery, on 07/11/2009, -0/+35Did you know about it before? Is it something people talk about in the neighborhood?
- demonthises, on 07/11/2009, -0/+34Actually, it's not fake. See LuckyASN's comment.
http://digg.com/comedy/Telephone_Pole_Placement_FA ... - bdubatdi, on 07/11/2009, -3/+34FW:FW:FW:FW:FW:FW:SOOOOOO FUNNY
- CaviMike, on 07/11/2009, -0/+29If that was my house there would be a basketball hoop on that pole and one on the garage. How many people can play full court b-ball in their driveway? Hell yeah! I say house placement WIN!
- Kaegro, on 07/11/2009, -2/+30whats so wrong with that?
- RoanokeRich, on 07/11/2009, -6/+33I'm surprised it took 7 comments before someone called "fake"
- inquebiss, on 07/11/2009, -2/+27buried for down voted
- Kaegro, on 07/11/2009, -0/+23Great comment. Shows that you cant take everything you see on the internet for its face value. errrrr
- intekra, on 07/11/2009, -0/+22I wonder if they park their cars across the street? do a 180 turn in the street view and take a look... WTF?
- Royish, on 07/11/2009, -1/+22I see two parking spots... if you own two motorcycles.
- misternils, on 07/11/2009, -4/+22COMMENT FAIL
No just kidding I have always hated it too. Especially when people say it in real life. I mean, for gods sake. - urdogfarted, on 07/11/2009, -1/+19Call me a pervert, but....
- Foiz5000, on 07/11/2009, -1/+17Duh you guys, that driveway is clearly a roundabout
- Pother, on 07/11/2009, -1/+17(After reviewing the Google Maps Streetview link posted above by LuckyASN...)
So the developer squeezed one last last house in...
1.) Why didn't they just angle the driveway to the left?
2.) There's only 3 wires, and lots of distance between poles, can't see why the power company couldn't move this pole (replace) it to the right of it at the corner of the lot, and insert another at a lot corner down the street to the left. Yeah, yeah,... cost, resources, schedules... maybe in a couple years.
3.) Look across the street... different styles of driveways seem to fit right in on this boulevard. - techdever, on 07/11/2009, -5/+21dildo
- mclupus, on 07/11/2009, -1/+16So old
- fightingforair, on 07/11/2009, -1/+16Perhaps it's a city placement fail.
- banditboydavid, on 07/11/2009, -0/+15Good job. It's nice to see people do their homework and dig into something a little deeper. I thought it was fake but I'm kinda glad to be wrong this time.
- inactive, on 07/11/2009, -0/+15This is in Australia, silly. Admittedly in Rockhampton, but I guess most parts of Australia have roads these days. Except Tasmania. We don't talk about Tasmania anymore.
- MtheoryX, on 07/11/2009, -0/+13dugg for scuttlebutt
- kelmaster1, on 07/11/2009, -3/+15technically in most cities the space from sidewalk to street is city property, and most cities don't own powerlines...
- Spire3660, on 07/11/2009, -2/+14LOL, why would you ever park on the street if you had a driveway other then to move them out out play some ball? My cars not the gretst, but I still wouldnt park it on the street if i had options.
- long10horns, on 07/11/2009, -2/+13dido
- gasherthegrey, on 07/11/2009, -0/+11you spelled ***** wrong, its actually "marcb83"
- sarcasteak, on 07/11/2009, -0/+101)Buy
2)Cut down the tree
3) ???
4) Profit - Splack, on 07/11/2009, -0/+10I like the pubes patch around the pole
- NewBrunswickMan, on 07/12/2009, -4/+14definitely shopped, look how tall the thing is
- klipseracer, on 07/11/2009, -0/+10guys, this isn't a bad driveway at all, unless you are parking a trailer or something. Its certainly better than where the neigbors across the street are parking... in the dirt.
- RedS0x, on 07/11/2009, -1/+11Another: http://digg.com/u17vqN
- inactive, on 07/11/2009, -0/+10I thought it was called a K turn?
- shapedy, on 07/11/2009, -0/+10It seems as though many people dugg it.
- SveedeshCheef, on 07/11/2009, -0/+10Excellent point.
- jmferris, on 07/11/2009, -0/+10...and old as hell.
- ricemonster, on 07/11/2009, -10/+19< Meh
- lead2thehead, on 07/11/2009, -3/+12Looks like the pole was there first and the driveway was built around it.
