- Wonkanobi, on 10/12/2007, -2/+79Maybe we haven't found any WMDs in Iraq because we neglected to check the bakeries
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+64LOL "dangerous levels"
you would have to eat some dozens (if not more) of bags that size to for THC to reach "dangerous levels". There has never been a single reported case of a human cannabinoid overdose, intentional or otherwise.
WMDs? seriously? I guess the War on Terror and the War on Drugs are all just one big battle now. Why do we keep declaring war on abstract concepts? We should just go ahead declare a "War on Evil" and skip all the lily-footing around what they really want to say.
And I would be incredibly surprised if the whole benedryl thing was actually true. "still speculation" just means they still want the spin but failed to come up with proof; they had time for a cannabinoid test... - inthenews, on 10/12/2007, -3/+43This story sucks. The FEDS in Dallas are winning the war on terror by busting pot users. Give me a ***** break. End the war on the drugs now and go fight some real, substantial war on terror! Leave innocent people alone.
- Dested, on 10/12/2007, -0/+40"Some how got the thc into the mixture"
SOME HOW!? THOSE GENIUSES! - TopherT, on 10/12/2007, -1/+39Pot muffins made well enough that you don't actually notice the marijuana flavor? Someone's got talent.
- kindrobot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+29 On a positive note, the cafeteria broke sales records for snack foods.
- orientis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+25That's exactly what I thought!
They somehow extracted the THC and put it in the muffins, which were then somehow cooked in what authorities are calling 'an oven'. They were then delivered from the cooking location to another location, possibly using a criminal method known as 'transportation'. - jonathantneal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+23Weapons of Mass Delicatessen
- solohan, on 10/12/2007, -3/+25They are deploying the Joint Terrorism Task Force, awesome
- crazyman, on 10/12/2007, -3/+24Best Senior Prank ever
- bebop717, on 10/12/2007, -0/+21the teachers were sickā¦and by sick we mean ordering pizza and playing wii.
- mistermanoli, on 10/12/2007, -0/+20this one time i tried to overdose on pot.. and i had the time of my life..
- Greyhaven7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+20MY GOD NO! "...There may have been Benadryl in those muffins"! Sweet merciful crap, what kind of animal is this guy!
- tonich03, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18It doesn't suck! It's hysterical! Weapons of mass destruction? That had me laugh out loud. This is crazy.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16hmm.. benadryl and thc. i just did that.
its pretty cool. more mellow than the usual. chicks look hotter. maybe i'm just horney. - Scheissen, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18The conservatives need to take off their tinfoil hats.
- nipuL, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15Since when does a slow cooker and a pound of butter make you a terrorist mastermind?
- fubes2000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14OMG! Them terrists have Muffins of Mass Destruction! Soon there will be catastrophic shortages of Doritos and Cheezits!
CIVILIZATION IS ON THE BRINK OF MELLOW DESTRUCTION! - bashnu, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14Finally some one did it. Cliche teen dream.
It is called a prank. I would prefer to see the teachers "in action". Atleast it was not LSD. and by the way you make space cakes with hashish. (essence of marijuana)
Alert the feds immediately. - Greyhaven7, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16I don't think "tripping" is the correct descriptive term when someone is "on" marijuana. High, baked, blazed, etc... yes... but "tripping" is usually reserved for LSD, DMT, "shrooms", and other more psychoactive substances.
- sany22, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11scenario: laced muffins are eaten by teachers
1976: students come along and smoke, big party occurs
2006: joint terrorism task force called in on account of "sickening muffins" being a WMD.
and lol @ them explaining that THC is in marijuana... - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10@pands:
I totally agree. Giving somebody *any* drug without their knowledge or consent is morally reprehensible. The kids that did this should definately be punished. BUT what is appalling to me is how the media is hyping this up as "Terrorism"; this is essentially no different from slipping laxatives in the watercooler, and should be dealt with in a similar manner.
And yes, although it's no physiologically dangerous; getting way too stoned can be a very unpleasant experience (even for somebody who already is "experienced") and it particularly easy with edibles.
@TopherT
nope, just patience: 1 oz. shredded shwag, 1 lb butter, 1 qt water. simmer for a several hours just under a boil, stirring occasionally; strain; let seperate in the fridge/freezer overnight; discard the water. Of course, this is for educational purposes only.... - dgh1973, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8"""
Atleast it was not LSD.
"""
Hell, our own government is guilty of tabbing people with LSD.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MK-ULTRA - bcasper1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8"somehow the THC was extracted and baked into the muffins" they make it sound like they had terrorist chemists working on this, are they ignorant or what? if i didn't all ready know how to make weed pastries, it would take me about 3 seconds to figure it out on the internet.
- chicken101, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Dangerous levels of THC? Lmao, those teachers probably had an awesome day... they scored a free high after-all.
- lemon67, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6funniest story ive heard all day.
"They didnt find the actual marijuana plant inside the muffins, but rather THC which is a substance that was somehow extracted from the plant and baked into the muffins." they seem sooooo confused at how this happened lol. And yea, just plain LOL at the WMD remark, absolutely insane - buckeye45, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5this is ***** *****. we all know that the teachers weren't sick, they were having a great time.
"the THC was somehow baked into the muffins"
***** YOU. - crestfall, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4reminds me of the camo guy in that "To Catch a Predator" episode on Digg a while back.
Anyone who says we need to spend more time and money on national security is a ***** wacko. - pands, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4aparently this is a new technique because whoever wrote this news story was probably used to all the stems and buds being mixed in
- chicken101, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6I love how the reported said "19 faculty members," while the ticker on the screen said 18. These people can't get their facts together.
- mrmots1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4OMG!!!! The guy who "somehow" extracted the THC from the MJ plant must be a chemist!!!! OH NO!!!!!
He must have some kind of advanced lab and he is probably enriching Uranium to....
how about googling how to make special cup cakes....
I don't mean to be a troll but this kind of stupidity is what is killing the US little by little... - nreynolds, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6The idiots need to get off the news is what I think you meant to say.
- Jonmad17, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Is it me or does that guy who delivered the muffins look allot like Kevin Rose?
- tokyopimp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I think that the point is that there shouldn't be a damn thing inside the food, besides the ingredients that need to used to make that food, inside the god damn food your given.
How could you not be pissed if an ingredient was used in a food someone gave you that ***** you up! I don't care what it is, it doesn't matter, you shouldn't be given a brownie or desert, or anything with some ingredient that isn't needed to create the actual desert or whatever your giving the person.
I am all for legalization of weed, but this kind of ***** pisses me off. It's one thing to be pro-weed and tell people that you are. It's another thing to give someone food with weed in it, and don't tell them about it. - Authustian, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Dangerous levels of THC?!? Hate to break it to them but no one has ever died ever from THC. ever.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3no
anybody who *wants* to should try it.
peer pressure is not cool. - Walt65, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I wish I could get sick on some muffins.
- sizbo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Did anyone else hear her say they were calling in the joint terrorism task force?
- kindrobot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3My favorite part is when the reporter confirms "there was no evidence of food poisoning" and then immediately says "so this was obviously intentional". What kind of doublespeak-style ***** nonsense is that??
- pands, on 10/12/2007, -8/+11to a someone who is not used to marijuana and has zero tolerence, powerful marijuana edibles can be anything but a fun experience. despite what you may think, marijuana is a drug and dosing people with drugs without their consent or knowledge is not a nice thing to do.
- kd1s, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It'd be funnier if you delivered a gross of adulterated donuts to your local PD. Of course it wouldn't sicken most cops because the biggest pot fiends I've ever met have been cops.
- minoss, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Oh, those muffins "sickened" the teachers? So that's what the news calls it.
- rajaal1977, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Pot Brownies: Weapons of Mass Consumption!
- thrallie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Um. It was probably the Benadryl that made them sick. People use Benadryl Recreationally too (well the idiots do). A Benadryl trip is ***** horrible, and I know many people who stupidly tried it and got sick.
- theShiba, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2mission accomplished.
- elarson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Those WMD headies always ***** me up.
- Ngai, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Marijuana is a weapon of mass destruction...
The government is afraid that we'll over analyze everything... everything... - oddmanout, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2i've eaten tons of magic brownies/muffins.... never gotten sick... but i want to meet this guy... how did he make them without them tasting so bad?
- Nick22, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2...And this is why I live in Canada
that and the fact I was born here, but the point remains. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2definately agree. "tricking" people with space-brownies is not cool in the least; and gives MM patients, recreational users, growers, and advocates a bad name everywhere; and sets back legalization efforts immeasurably.
