- Grimdotdotdot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+145Stephen Colbert AND the Wii in the same article?
I'm shocked that Digg hasn't imploded - isn't that like crossing the streams? - drum_bum, on 10/12/2007, -6/+59Why would he want to beat up Papa Bear O'Reilly?
- skywake, on 10/12/2007, -1/+45not only is there the Wii and Colbert in the same video
but he loves it.... and who can blame him
"the Nintendo Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!"
:D - swOhio, on 10/12/2007, -3/+41Wow, Stephen Colbert playing a Wii and singing it's praises. If there was a Macbook sitting on his desk and he was boxing a republican, most dugg story ever.
- Jrr6415sun, on 10/12/2007, -3/+34wii.. steven colbert and apple all in the same article would cause the end of the world.
This one came close. - thestorey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+28He probably just called and asked to borrow or have one for his show and they said ***** PLEASE!
- StevoCJ, on 10/12/2007, -3/+29Get Your Pants Off?
- RedGiant, on 10/12/2007, -2/+28Before I wanted a Wii.
Now?
I MUST HAVE A WII - DanteDefiance, on 10/12/2007, -3/+28It doesn't occur to you that maybe....just maybe, Comedy Central loves the Wii?
- jenoosia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+24My sentiments exactly- but I guess Digg can't be brought down by its own Digg effect.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+26He couldn't get a PS3
- ZeroMP, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16I'm pretty sure both Colbert and Comedy Central would have a pretty easy time coming up with a PS3 if he/they really wanted one.
- ZeroMP, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16Colbert/Wii strike the PS3 for massive damage!
- bobcorrigan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15Stephen Colbert should combine playing the Wii with the Green Screen Challenge.
- drlha, on 10/12/2007, -9/+23Who is Bill Gates? I've heard of Melinda Gates of the "Stephen and Melinda Gates Foundation" are they related?
- ghm101, on 10/12/2007, -7/+21So if I submit a link to the full show, I can claim an even greater
"my digg submission is better than yours" (nerd voice off the simpsons) - humanerror, on 04/03/2008, -0/+14I wonder what poor bastard had to line up all night to get that for him :)
Aw hell, I would have done it. It's Stephen Colbert! - ThinkBox, on 10/12/2007, -5/+19http://www.gamevideos.com/video/id/7638

- brotherfranciz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12What? He didn't put the wrist strap on! Someone's going to get their eye poked out...
- Narwaffle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11My dream Wii Sports boxing match is Bush vs Saddam. Pure. Awesome.
- culbeda, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11Because wanting something is childish.
"...And when you need something, that's a responsibility..." - Meatwad - Paroparo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13I just stayed up all night writing an academic paper on basically why prescriptive grammar sucks and you'll have to excuse me if I tell you to SHUT UP! He's clearly a native speaker of English and he's free to use whatever non-standard in his own tv-show without it being a mistake.
nothing personal =) - Lumiras, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8The thing is that he wasn't actually playing the game, he was just looking at a pre-recorded video.
It would have been much cooler if he had actually played the Wii - oneiroi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8He also calls the internet, the interweb/internets.
Everything he said is as planned...maybe. - Zoglog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6what a fricking cheater. nobody was even controlling 2p! Somone get Pelosi on the 2nd Wiimote......... I demand a fair rematch.
- washingtonydc, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9I love myself some Colbert and Nintendo...but I'm a little put off by the Wii's amount of exposure on Comedy Central...First South Park, then Nintendo sponsoring the Thanxgiving Weekend, and now this.
I really doubt South Park (which has had plots based on PSP, Xbox 360 and WoW) and Colbert would be selling out for product placements, but it all just seems like so much Wii coverage on one channel. - ragipy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5If he was boxing Bill Gates that would probably have done it...
- jls8705, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5The moment I saw this on last night, I new it would be on Digg's front page the next day haha.
- tombomb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Stephen Colbert + Nintendo Wii = Massive amount of diggs
- rajputwarrior, on 10/12/2007, -5/+10this is awesome media coverage for the wii, this will only help this stomp ps3 and xbox some more this holiday season and get people who don't really play games to get one of these. Like really, who would have thought Stephen Colbert would play one of these?
- Ignignokt01, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3That takes too much time for network television, especially his show where each little tidbit gets less than a minute to laugh about. That video and his motions got the point across
- Paroparo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Heh, sorry about that. Was very, very tired and didn't realise both of those posts were yours. Honestly I still can't entirely understand what you're saying though.
- CalipsoII, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3My guess would be because the nunchuck doesn't accept batteries, it's powered by the wiimote, and probably uses the IR sensor/(emitter?) on the end of the remote to send it's data to the device. Might have proved too expensive to load the nunchuck up with all the same hardware as the remote when just using one would suffice.
- enicholas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The Wiimote communicates via RF, not IR. The IR window at its end covers a digital camera, which is used to view the position of the sensor bar's IR emitters. You can cover the window and all that will happen is that the pointer ability vanishes; everything else still works.
- hamstereater, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1the nunchuck might then also cost $40, I will take the corded version :)
- mrfreeziexp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That is an awesome video
- sulthernao, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1More likely nintendo just gave him.
- levyjl1988, on 10/12/2007, -9/+10Hillarious! I see nothing like this for the PS3...
- T3hl33tg33k, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Im not the only one who wants to steal that wii from him, right?
- BobbyShaftoe, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1The thing about Colbert is that he's a mother-lovin' genius.
If you haven't seen this one yet, check it out:

Dude stood in a room full of mainstream press and totally ignored them because he knew his target audience was on the web! Print is dead. Web 2.0 lives. And he knew it... - phanthommania, on 12/01/2008, -0/+0http://www.boxofkid.com/games.php
- Elranzer, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4@23r17i05o42n:
No, he doesn't. - VeganG, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1You don't know what YOU'RE talking about.
- DigeratiPrime, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4entire video
http://www.colbertondemand.com/videos/The_Colbert_Report/Colberts_Holiday_Threat_Down - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Pretty impressive. Anyone have a ballpark figure what an on-air endorsement in a show like the Colbert Report might cost?
