- mb3581, on 10/10/2007, -13/+70am I the only one who read tripping on SALIVA... i've never even heard of Salvia.
- BalsamLane, on 10/10/2007, -5/+36"This is going to be the best video ever"
I disagree. - RockStrongo1, on 10/10/2007, -4/+30That doesn't look like a fun time to me.
- Kinkistyle, on 10/10/2007, -1/+25Oh no Harry Potter! You don't need that stuff to win at Qiddich!
- hambend, on 10/10/2007, -2/+26I like to think of myself as a bit of a dope-fiend, but I probably wouldn't take Salvia again. It makes me feel like my mind has shattered completely, like I've been reduced to a thousand fragments of disconnected thought and I can't make sense of any of it. I remember once spending the whole trip staring at a shoe lying next to a potted plant while my visual system tried and failed repeatedly to make some kind of coherent scene; one second the potted plant was in the shoe, then the shoe in the plant, then growing out of the pot, and on and on faster than I could deal with. I couldn't even tell which was bigger, or by how much. My perceptions were shot.
Oh, and when I came down I found I'd drooled all down the front of my shirt. A definite negative.
But what really turned me off was the flashback. It only happened once, and only for a few seconds, but I was just walking along a crowded street when my vision went haywire, all fractured and distorted just like it had been on Salvia. Scared the bejesus out of me. I smoke weed all the time, take acid semi-regularly and shrooms whenever I can get my hands on them, but four or five sessions on salvia and I start getting flashbacks. No thanks. - age2gold, on 10/10/2007, -0/+21Salvia can be a scary thing when your on it. heres some info on it if any one is interested http://www.erowid.org/plants/salvia/salvia.shtml
- kertong, on 10/10/2007, -1/+21I can't believe this stuff is sold at smoke shops over the counter.
I smoked some (using a torch, holding it in my lungs for at least 30 seconds).
Before I knew it, I was staring at a metal leg of my desk. I felt my body stretching up vertically, like I was becoming part of the pole. My skin felt like it was peeling back, and I felt like my skin was hard bark, like a tree. Radiohead's "Nice Dream" was playing on my stereo, and the guitars/piano were slowed down - low pitched, slow, drawling.. however, the singer's voice was perfectly timed and pitched. Strangely, the music lined up and made perfect sense. The iTunes screensaver was on, where album artwork was flipping over one by one - and each time the song's guitar/piano would strike a note, the album would flip over.
This stuff really ***** with your sense of time. My neighbors were playing ping pong outside, and I heard a "thud.... thud..... thud....". The trip only lasted about 5 minutes, but it felt like 30 seconds and 30 minutes at the same time. I felt a strange "pull", as if something/someone wanted me to come to it - I got up out on my chair and bumped into my desk. As the "high" (if you could call it that), came down real fast, and the ping pong's slow "thud" sped up gradually into a "tick, tock, tick, tock". As I saw my spilled bubbler on the desk, I thought to myself "ooohhh yeah, I smoked that salvia!". I had completely forgotten.
Craziest ***** ever. I've tried (not bragging here, but hey, I went to berkeley) weed, shrooms, meth, ecstacy, vicondin, oxycontin, but.. salvia blew them all out of the water in terms of trippiness. I'd gladly do any of those drugs, but I would never touch salvia again. It took me about 2 full days to comprehend what had exactly happened during the ~5 min. salvia trip, and even to this day, I'm not completely sure. *****, it is.
To think they sell this legally over the counter at smoke shops, and marijuana is illegal, boggles my mind. - creep303, on 10/10/2007, -0/+19I literally laughed at this comment for about 3 minutes.
- Nowaiman, on 10/10/2007, -2/+21No, I think he actually smoked "essence of retard".
- supremespleen, on 10/10/2007, -0/+19Bizarre video, made me feel uncomfortable.
- RanIntoTheDevil, on 10/10/2007, -2/+15I don't know about you, but in my experience weed does not even compare to what salvia can do to you. Sure it is only 15 minutes but in that small time you can gain amazing an amount of knowledge and insight.
It is damn expensive though. - CammyBoy, on 10/10/2007, -7/+20I don't get how this isn't illegal yet.
- coheedcollapse, on 10/10/2007, -0/+13Apparently it had just recently picked up popularity at all in the US and while some people rushed to try to block it, in most cases the motions were thrown out because it has no negative effects (other than making you a rambling psycho for 10 minutes)
- Phyltre, on 10/10/2007, -1/+13I hadn't heard of it, either. You think everybody is a walking drug encyclopedia?
- Rekutyn, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10"My one regret in life is being myself" ~Woody
- YoctoYotta, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10Thanks for the good comment, I think a lot of people do not understand the league this drug is in. Salvia is definitely the most intense substance I've ever used, and I've ate a lot of hallucinogens and chemicals in my day.
- Gillagad, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10Weed does not equal Savlia, each is a different experience. Though I must say with Salvia it seems either people love it or hate it.
- Lazyboy0172, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9I actually bought some on ebay and smoked it, and its the worst experience of my life. I fell back into the chair and exhaled the smoke, but didnt see any smoke, so i blew it out, and when i blew, i flew right through my chair and the floor into abyss, i saw the room i was in and each instant as i fell there was another 'me' where i had just been, there must have been 1000 of me just in a crazy pattern flying in the abyss, each one belonging to a different demension. I looked around and found myself in the room again, but the colors and voices were all completely off, as I flew around with my other selves I looked wildly for my real room, and when I was there, I violently grabbed the coffee table in front of me, and exclaimed "i want to stay HERE" to the other people in the room. One said "did you enjoy your trip?" and then I looked at the table and saw the bong and salvia sitting there, and I just thought "WOW". Coming down was the scariest experience of my life too, I was watching tv, some pirate cartoon, and after a couple minutes the screen went black, i turned to my friends to see who had turned off the tv, but they told me it was never on. I felt like the ground was trying to suck me back into it and take me to the abyss, so i struggled to keep my balance and not give in. A couple minutes later my friend expressed how scared he was, because I laid motionless after just a hit of this stuff I bought on ebay, and didnt really know what it could be. From that moment for the next day, I spent all my time convincing myself I was not in a coma in the hospital somehwere, but was indeed alive and well and it was only a trip.
There were funny parts though, looking back. When I came back, I said "Where am I? Is this Earth, like 3-demensional Earth?", and when I looked down at my pants, the cargo pocket was tucked inside the pocket, so i saw no top to the pocket. I was convinced I was not in the right place, and just a similar place where cargo pockets dont have tops, and was scared to death as to what else may be different in this cargo-less world.
So looking back, it is something I'll probably never do again, but am glad I got the experience. - wootup, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10How about we keep it legal, like we should keep other drugs legal because prohibition is a huge cop-out that criminalizes nonviolent behaviour, fills prisons, destroys families (see: jailed parents), and gives enormous power to gangs and other black market forces to profit from the illicit sale of said banned substances.
And yes, I did smoke salvia once or twice when I was younger. Big deal. - feebie, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9I wonder what someone who is very articulate would describe when experiencing this.
I mean, this guy said something pretty interesting along the lines of "when I close my eyes, I wonder if that is the world that is actually real"
If it gives you that sort of point of view...I bet a lot of amazing ideas come out of it.
But then again, seeing other people experiencing this just scares the hell out of me. - 47knight, on 10/10/2007, -3/+11In my opinion this guy is better:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jd-oObbsVU - SlappyMc, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9I dont think you know what you're talking about.
20x had me on my ass visiting other universes man; this guy is still somewhat normal. - coheedcollapse, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7I think a lot of people buy it because from what I can find out about it, it's a different kind of feeling, and also it's legal to buy or grow in the states so if you're caught with it you won't get into any trouble whatsoever.
- skyshock1, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Salvia Divinorum: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salvia_divinorum
I've smoked a 10x extract before, and it is ***** nuts. - SlappyMc, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8Great comment. Yeah salvia is definately something else.
I've done 20x a couple times and it compares to nothing else Ive ever done.
I'd still recommend it - Nowaiman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7i disagree with your disagreement.
- SuperMoses, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Best comment ever.
- geoboy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5The reason salvia is legal is simply because the drug is not popular enough yet, and government is slow. But don't worry, the Fascist States of America will prohibit the drug soon enough so as to keep your children safe from yet another devil plant.
- SlappyMc, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Good comment.
I'd guess even the most articulate person would be forced to use a load of very vague descriptors. There arent words for all the things you experience on it. - number9ine, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5I'll reply to you since your story is comparable to the times I have tried it. The first time I tried it I was in my room and laying on the bed after holding it in. I started hearing a lot of screaming, like thousands of different voices screaming in terror but kind of far away. Eventually somehow I realize that the screaming is coming from the rain drops that are falling outside, and as soon as I realize this my point of view shifts and I can see the house from up above and I am falling really fast towards the ground and I start screaming along with all of the other raindrops screaming around me. It felt so real and I was terrified of hitting the ground. I landed in a puddle and I could feel myself mixing with all of the other raindrops and I felt myself losing my individuality and I could literally see and feel and hear from a hundred different perspectives, then a thousand, then millions and it just kept going as I kept melding into the puddle until it became infinite and then I was laying in my bed and the blankets were blue so for a minute i thought i was laying in the puddle still but had turned back into a person. I was afraid to move for a while. The second time I tried it with a friend a year or so later. It was quite a bit different. I never felt like I was tripping. I was laying on my bed and I looked over in the mirror and i saw myself as this 2 foot tall white plastic doll thing, almost like a storm trooper but with less joints and less complexity. As I'm staring at this version of myself I remember thinking "this stuff isn't working, i wonder if its going to kick in" I don't know what happened for a while but eventually i found myself in the bathroom sitting on the side of the bathtub and my friend is sitting on the toilet. i look into the big mirror in the bathroom and all of a sudden it looks like a window out of the side of a plane. i can see the ground and its storming and i can tell we are getting blown around by the wind. I look back over at my friend and now he has like 1940s fighter pilot headgear on and the bong he was holding is a flighstick. i lose my balance and fall back into the tub and i could feel the shower curtain all around me but it felt like running water and i thought the plane had been damaged. after that i kinda zoned out and when i was mostly back in reality i was walking back into my room and i felt my back all wet and i was freaking out because I thought somehow the hallucination of the plane and the water had come back into reality and then i realized that there must have been a little water in the tub and my shirt soaked it up as i was laying there.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Cannabis should NOT be compared to Salvia.
Salvia (when used properly) can be an extremely powerful psychoactive tool and should be approached with caution, first time users should not try this alone. That being said, there is little to no *immediate* danger from toxicity or drug reactions; and the "trip" is short enough so as any unpleasant experiences will be over shortly (though your sense of time may be distorted significantly). Salvia's consciousness altering powers are *far* greater than that of Cannabis (albeit for a shorter duration), and act via entirely different physiological/chemical pathways, so unsurprisingly they have vastly different effects. Salvia is a true hallucinogen, in every sense of the word; Cannabis however, is more in a class of it's own.
A simpler (if somewhat hand-wavey) way to explain it might be that while Cannabis augments/alters reality for an hour or so, Salvia creates it's own reality for a few minutes. - wafflez, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7salvia isn't as great as I'd hoped. First time I tried it bout a year ago, a friend gave me 60x or something, and i couldn't stop rolling on the floor having no idea what was going on >_>. maybe I'm a pussy, but I like weed alot more.
- YoctoYotta, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6No way, he's still talking. A real salvia trip will have you spouting incomprehensible gibberish like a baby.
- Frozo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Here's a good info link on the salvia, to help you make sure if this is something you really want to try or not. I, for one, am staying far away! lol
http://www.plot55.com/health/s.divinorum.html - Sp0rAdiC, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4That's like comparing shrooms and alcohol, they're completely different. Also, I don't know where you're getting it, but $50 for 2 grams is a ***** ripoff, you can buy an oz for that much at some headshops around here.
- blocguy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4It sure as hell is intense!
Second time I did it, I actually went into the fourth dimension. As in, I looked at a wardrobe and it back into a tree in front of my eyes, or I looked at my friend and he became a baby, then a feotus, then nothing, then I fell over, and it was over :P.
As for the drooling, that is ridiculously annoying. Came out of it with a nice puddle next to my mouth on the dusty carpet :/. - RanIntoTheDevil, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4I'm taking it you haven't had much experience with ethneogens.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5I'm still a bit confused as to why it's fun to do.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -4/+8Salvia is way to intense for the 5 min I experienced doing 15x..
this guy looks like hes doing 60 - Marijuana, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4I've tried it, it's some ***** up *****. I thought I was part bed part wall...part everything. I know that sounds weird, but there's no other way to explain it.
Oh and if you're ever going to try it, use a bong/torch lighter. - melve, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Everyone reacts to these things differently.
- atavist, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Yeah, I've done it a few times. Every subsequent trip seems to get weirder and weirder. The one thing that seems to stay constant though is the complete inability to describe just what you are experiencing. As you come down, thoughts become easier to convey, but even days later it is difficult if not impossible to accurately depict one's experiences. It's almost as if there aren't the right words in any language, in my experience at lease.
The most intense visions occur, as with most all hallucinogens, when your eyes are closed. On one very memorable trip, I distinctly remember climbing a latter in an empty black void. At the top of this latter was a submarine style hatch. Once I came to be approximately on body-length away from the hatch it violently flung open and I was greeted by a glowing radiantly against a vivid forest like background. On an interesting note, this "goddess" (I hesitate using this word but it is the only that accurately describes he powerful presence) was dressed in something like 1960s stewardess attire. - krusader3z, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Absolutely true.
- TheFBI, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Much like weed, except for the rambling psycho bit. Instead, you just eat all the snacks.
- ScrumFritter, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3He speaks truth, things are always better when your pants aren't there.
- BlackOp, on 10/10/2007, -0/+32nd half http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UpocXQqBPGw
- esotericguy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3dugg for the last sentence
- FrankieB078, on 10/10/2007, -3/+6You obviously haven't smoked Salvia before. Depending on how strong it is, you can have a good 15 minutes of a different take on how your brain interprets reality.
If that scares you , then yes, it won't be magic. - XZanatos, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Its great stuff. It only lasts 15-20 minutes, and so far as anyone can tell it has no other side effects after that. The reason it isn't already illegal from all the other drug laws we already have out there is because its active component is fundamentally different from everything else. Get some while you can.... if you are into this sort of thing. Its the best LEGAL way to trip out.
