- JulieBrownfield, on 03/19/2008, -2/+20I love these. I've been to that beach in Kauai. Kee beach I think. It's calm beautiful. You have to park at the end of the road in trees where these signs are. Believe it or not I have been a few times and missed them. You don't park near them, BTW. I love the glacier one. Seems like they are doubling down. Parts of it might chip away and hit you in the head or global warming will give you deep water.
- burstaneurysm, on 03/19/2008, -0/+2There are signs on beaches on the North Shore of Oahu that pretty much tell you that you will die if you even think about going swimming. Those riptides can be ***** nasty.
- Birukun, on 03/19/2008, -0/+1That beach is on Kauai at Haena State Beach. As far North as you can go on the east side.
- LanceUppercut, on 03/19/2008, -0/+1Ke'e beach, and yes it is part of Ha'ena beach state park. Parking there is almost impossible. Oh and don't go there for a sunset without checking the cruise schedule. I went out there and got to see the sun set behind the ***** ship.
- EatingPie, on 03/19/2008, -0/+1The picture is funny because there are no waves, but the photo was taken in the summer when the North Shore isn't getting any surf.
I'm on Kauai today, and surfed 8-10 foot sets just a few miles from this spot. Ke'e and Haena are far more exposed to North Swells than Hanalei (where I surfed), and while I didn't see it myself, surf was reported at 10-15+ feet there. Indeed, those signs are IMPERATIVE during the season the surf hits that side of the island.

- digghandyman, on 03/19/2008, -0/+11You climb all the way up there and then there's not only a sign but the sign says don't trip. Where is the adventure in that?
- surKaz, on 03/19/2008, -0/+3The adventure is the story of the guy who felt the need for that sign... wonder what made him think they needed a sign up there..
- CatalunyaBob, on 03/19/2008, -1/+22What kind of beach is in #3? The only warning sign missing: 'Caution, Pirates.'
- roadnottaken, on 03/19/2008, -0/+13Yarrr, we takes offense to that, matey.
- ghgh1313, on 03/19/2008, -1/+3since when do pirates have wireless internet out there?
- DarkSamus, on 03/19/2008, -1/+7pirates have the best internets
- ghgh1313, on 03/19/2008, -1/+3since when do pirates have wireless internet out there?
- NeoCortex, on 03/19/2008, -1/+1It must be a ninja beach. That's why they don't have to worry about pirates. And all of those ways to get injured are just the ninjas, making you think it is only a natural phenomenon.
- roadnottaken, on 03/19/2008, -0/+13Yarrr, we takes offense to that, matey.
- R34L99, on 03/19/2008, -0/+5Maybe you would be looking at that amazing view and fall off? Great photo.
- meandnips, on 03/19/2008, -0/+2The last one was hilarious. dangerous and (so far) invisible waves and rocks, which I am sure would manage to find me!
- ErnestSixpence, on 03/19/2008, -0/+12I guess the glacier one is planning ahead. They don't want to hike back over there when it starts to melt so they posted the one for drowning too.
- DErallde, on 03/19/2008, -0/+4i like how the snow fall and rock fall on the second one are the same image.
- typicalusername, on 03/19/2008, -2/+1This makes me want to go on a road trip so I can take pictures of all the funny signs I've seen. There were some weird ones I've seen in Wyoming and the Uintas.
- mikeman10001, on 03/19/2008, -1/+8There's an apple logo on one of the signs in the 3rd picture.
- MasterThief117, on 03/19/2008, -1/+2Macintosh.
- krautkamel, on 03/19/2008, -2/+0die in a pile of fruit, fanboys
- MasterThief117, on 03/20/2008, -1/+1I am not a Mac fanboy. I don't even use it (at least not since elementary school, which was like 12 years ago for me). It is just common knowledge that that was in fact a Macintosh logo.

There ya go, 79 pages of funny signs.- jeremyduffy, on 03/19/2008, -0/+4Bah. Don't want to create an account to have to see them.
- thesonofdarwin, on 03/19/2008, -0/+1Only need to do so for the attached images. The hotlinked images appear.
Regardless, anytime we have a Dugg blog on here about HDR, Photog-Laws, signs, or anything to do with photography you are better off just going to one of the many good photography sites that will have done it better long in advance. So register, and the next time a "OMG AWESOME HDR" appears on the frontpage with a mediocre at best LDR, you can log in to your trusty account and see what good HDR/LDR's look like.

- RobotDan, on 03/19/2008, -2/+3I believe it was Socrates who was quoted in saying: "I saw the sign, and it opened up my eyes. I saw the sign" Still has substance to this day.
- geneticlemon, on 03/19/2008, -2/+3Or, y'know ... Ace of Base. But you were close.

- macweirdo42, on 03/19/2008, -0/+4You know, it's bad enough we live in a day and age where we have to have warnings about hot coffee being hot. But now we need signs warning people to move out of the way of approaching glaciers!? Geez... I'm thinking, if you can't move out of the way of a glacier, the glacier is the least of your worries.

http://divinecaroline.com/article/22242/45922-worl ... - disruptor108, on 03/19/2008, -0/+1#4 is on the north side of the Big Island in Hawaii. That's a really cool beach if you can hike down the 1/2 mile to get there.
- sashapave, on 03/19/2008, -0/+1You're probably right, but it also looks like Tunnels beach at the end of the road in Kauai.
- jasonsmith87, on 03/19/2008, -0/+0the beach signs are pretty common in Hawaii

- jerbaker, on 03/19/2008, -1/+1I'm pretty sure there are 18 signs in those images.
- FluffyWolf, on 03/19/2008, -0/+1Aha! The author of the headline tricked you. You thought you were clever in your remark, but if you analyze the signs properly you will find that only four of them are actually funny!
