- cyberwiz01, on 10/12/2007, -3/+60It still looks like a dude, after they're done though.
- suddenfalter, on 10/12/2007, -0/+35I always thought it was Captain Obvious.
- N080dy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+34What can you tell these pixels?
- Fjosnisse, on 10/12/2007, -1/+29I wasn't paying attention to the whole thing, but the chick on the billboard at the end is pretty hot.
- zionKing, on 10/12/2007, -2/+31Original (dove) version:

- sockpuppets, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19I think this is how Ann Coulter lost her adams apple.
- bennyboy371, on 10/12/2007, -3/+20Awww what a cute lil tranny. :D
- CaseyUCF, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15revolt against what??
- usmevans7, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13I'm more of a Brigadier General kind of guy.
- arcrad, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15Not trying to get Dugg down or anything, but I am making a formal request for a YouTube Version. I am currently unable to view MetaCafe videos and would appreciate it if someone could spend the time and provide a YouTube link.
- fjvwing, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12I am still wondering what the point is. "Make-up and photoshop can make anyone look like a pretty girl"? Well, that's not news, and arcrad4 points out, they barely got there.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+15The shape of his face is what gives him away, but still incredible what they can do.
- Providence, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10All of Digg is a WASTE OF TIME. GTFO.

Found it myself, my original request was for someone to download it and then upload it to Youtube. But, I decided to have a look and see if that had already been done. - Rekzai, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9i couldve done a better job on the photoshop part
- seanalltogether, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7huh?
would you prefer a link to the raw video bytes? - myheaditches, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8No, this is why she had an adams apple.
- Rorrim, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9While I was watching the video, I was like "I'm going to get creeped out now everytime I see a beautiful girl on a billboard," but they really didn't make it that convincing at all.
But it does have me worried about the future. *Thinks of ways to make sure future gf is a g* - Rorrim, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Dugg because this was the video linked to on the side,

It's The Flashbulb, the album is Kirlian Sessions, the song is Passage D
Buy DRM free here: http://www.bleep.com - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Wow, got waaaay too deep there, didn'tcha?
- Homunculiheaded, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3plus this is exactly the point of the original dove commercial, which they claim to be criticizing. I mean thematically the commericials are nearly identitical. Not that one shouldn't be cynical regarding the intent of the dove commericial.
- fangorious, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I think they were just challenging the motivations of the original Dove video ("industrial cosmetics" on the billboard at the end of this one). The implication is that Dove doesn't give a crap about your self-esteem and just wants to give you something you can identify with so you'll buy Dove instead of Olay (the "who defines you?" questions at the end of this one)
- Aeiri, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Why exactly are you unable to view MetaCafe videos? I wasn't because of Flash 9 (on Linux), but now that's not an issue because I have the Flash 9 Beta for Linux.
Sucks that it requires Flash 9, though. - berfmurret, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4thats not a woman thats a MAN, man!
- typo180, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I don't quite get it either. The original was pointing out that advertising (media) sets unrealistically high standards for woman - even creating a non-human image as the ideal for beauty. What is this one saying?
- HodgsonMoffat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Prime.....Sounds like you might be a homophobe. relax garbage. Just because other men/women have views that move beyond your own, does not mean they are "garbage"Or checking you out *wink*. Hopefully everyone will move beyond their own blocked societal views. It's nice out here :-), come check out the sunshine, we ain't asking you to suck *****. Just to be open to dialog.
- saintdesy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2If they spent as much time in photoshop as they did in the original Dove version, they probably could have pulled it off correctly, but they kinda half-assed it.
Now, if they could make that fat, naked Playstation-selling dude look like a girl, that would be something. - jocnnor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Probably the same reason I can't view metacafe videos. Metacafe is block by the proxy at my work being classified a Pornography, Streaming Media, Personal Pages site. Yay!
Thanks for the YouTube link :-) - whisk3rs, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Funny how this video: http://www.metacafe.com/watch/232524/jeans_removal_101/
was a top "recommended" video for this. You know, with the the girl wearing jeans that are too small and all. - stoppedcode12, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1lol, loved the poses.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1They should have gone with the TIGER pose... yeah BABY!!!
- spafbnerf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Flashbulb FTW!
- jdfoote2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Does anyone know what the music is from the original (I think it's the same music that these guys use)? I can't seem to find out what it is....
- Locke2053, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I think they mean "revolt against the beauty industry and be happy with who you are." Unfortunately, the science all seems to indicate that our brains do have an innate sense of what is beautiful--it's not a media conspiracy. The cosmetics industry just helps us look the way we naturally want to look. There's nothing to revolt against.
- dracomalfoy724, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Locke20531, So your saying that the constant exposition of unobtainable beauty in the mass media has nothing to do with our own images of what we should look like. Yes science has proven that we are capable of discerning what is innately beautiful by looking for patterns of symmetry and such, but the images that we see everyday on TV and in magazines are not possible goals of beauty. Children, particularly young girls are very suceptible to how beauty is presented to them to the point that their goal becomes unattainable and causes disease conditions like anorexia and bulimia. There is a lot we need to revolt against and as the Dove true beauty campaign is working on one of them.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2this is a great idea... produced to the level of mediocrity.
- adimaska, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1oh my...
- Mac2492, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That is SPAM. By, HodgsonMoffat.
- fuzzynyanko, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I like it. It not only parodies what Dove is saying, but also reinforces what they are saying.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The album is Kirlian Selections, not Kirlian Sessions
- QueerKombat, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I think what HodgsonMoffat is trying to say is with an ironic twist - beautiful or no, the final product is a construct, perhaps one more complex than the original, because there is a shift in gender as well as perceived 'beauty'. It is true that the media has warped our impressions of who we ought to be, but this is not a new phenomenon.
HodgsonMoffat take it one step further by spoofing Dove: a) look how much further media can go: the image begins as one sex and ends as another and b) there is a silliness to the global fascination with a little time-lapse photography... If read seriously, this video could also pose a question of self-identity: male/female/beautify/'ugly' why would we want to be something we are not? Also remember this was a SPOOF! Bitches - Tolzmaniac, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1what, exactly, is this commercial for?
- fangorious, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2@typo: "What is this one saying?"
that the original was just a marketing ploy, rather than a true social statement, I think. - mag4mag, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Has anyone noticed that the post comments on metacafe is only 3 and on digg is 53 !!!!!?
- Disease, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I'd hit it
- zigspective, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I honestly don't see the point of attacking the Dove campaign. Sure it's a cosmetics company advertising for themselves but they are still better then the majority of the companies out there.
Name another skin care line that doesn't constantly scream out you need anti-aging, you need anti-wrinkle, oh my god is that fine line?! Quick you need this you can't possibly look your natural age, 35? You need to look like your 20! Oil of Olay is one of the worst for this type of crap, most skincare companies dedicate half of their products to remove 'signs of aging'. Honestly Dove doesn't do this, to the best of my knowledge they never have, they don't have one 'anti-aging' product in their line and they stay away completely for any type of make-up.
In fact the only other campaign I remember them doing before this past year of the campaign for real beauty was Dove soap bar, and the declaration that it's 1/4 moisturizer. - ziki, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2http://www.bleep.com/player.php?track=SLR102_DM-03
- xipotec, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4I really want a link to the song on the background!
