However, as someone on there pointed out (and this seems to be my observation as well), reddit users like to bash on digg, or think there is some sort of rivalry, but people on digg generally seem to ignore that reddit even exists. It's kinda one-way.

On digg, you get to see these comments that have been buried and your own curiousity may wish to see these comments. On reddit, these comments don't exist. There is no dissenting opinion and you have no real opportunity to see the opposing side of the argument. Thus, redditors only see comments they agree with in massive quantities, so they deduce that their user base is more intelligent and mature, when in fact, their user base is the same.
