- Exhaust, on 01/05/2009, -3/+14I thought it was hilariously personally.
Only thing ignorant are the fairtale believers that get offended by stuff like this. So strong is their belief that joke videos and billboards represent a "war" against them... WAAAAAH!
Lighten up. - inactive, on 01/05/2009, -5/+11Dont worry Exhast, thats the christians new thing to call anyone who disagrees with them a racist, or ignorant, or a nazi, basically all the stuff christians actually are.

Also, the video had been up on youtube for more than 8 months, and been seen 9,000 times... when it was on the front page of Digg for only a few hours and started to become popular (43,000 views) youtube decided it was 'inappropriate' - newfrickinshow, on 01/05/2009, -3/+8I pose a question for y'all. The religious right wants both theories of creation taught in our sciences classes right? Both the peer-reviewed, scientifically agreed upon theory of Evolution and the largely believed, though with no evidence of any kind, hypothesis of Intelligent Design. But why stop there? Let's push to have Dogma taught in all sciences classes. In Astronomy we will teach both the Big Bang Theory with a round globe and the Christian flat earth, geocentric universe belief that some people still believe today. In biology and medical classes we will teach both the idea that diseases and ailments are caused by virus and bacteria that can be cured with medicine and taking care of your health, while we also teach that they are caused by the wrath of God and the only way to cure your pnemonia is through prayer.

- ru486, on 01/05/2009, -0/+3Why was it pulled from Youtube?
- captainpugwash, on 01/05/2009, -0/+3because it made fun of religion (one would assume )
- machinepolitick, on 01/06/2009, -1/+3I'll digg because zealotry is scary, but that's as far as it goes. I'd rather not watch it. I have good friends who are religious and I respect their views. They don't go around harassing people with it, though.
- inactive, on 01/05/2009, -1/+3That has to be about the dumbest attempt at justifying creationism I've ever seen.
It's exactly this black OR white, Republican OR Democrat, Communism OR Democracy type of mindset that is the cause of most of the world's problems.
The answer is never one of the polar opposites, it's always somewhere far away, or right in the middle. - newfrickinshow, on 01/05/2009, -1/+3Unsupported? You see the fundamental problem with your argument is that evolution IS supported. What do you have to back up creationism, a book filled with a whole bunch of disproven "information" and a contradictory world creation myth. We have found human evolution fossils:

If you know the scientific method, then you know theory is code for almost proven. Intelligent design is still idling back there at hypothesis, which is code for an idea we came up with and haven't yet been able to prove it. And *****, virus and bactria evolve, so evolution does help aid our understanding of disease. Rapid evolution of the cold virus is why we've been unable to cure it and have had to settle for treatments. Talk not of what you do not know. And you don't even have to take my word for it.

And irrelivent? The origins of human life are never irrelivent, even if they are the origins you don't believe in. - designbydave, on 01/06/2009, -0/+2Dugg for truth, buried for Ebaums
- newfrickinshow, on 01/06/2009, -0/+2Or when that airplane got struck by lightning last year while on the runway, and nobody got hurt, it wasn't because of competent employees who knew what to do. No, it was a miracle! And the Giants winning the Superbowl last year, was that due to some queationable playcalling by the Patriots, good play by the Giants, or plain dumb luck? No, if you believe Bill O'Reilly, it was simply because it was God felt sympathy for the attacks Eli Manning was taking from the media. Of course if that's team, all other 31 teams can blame God for their team not winning.
- captainpugwash, on 01/05/2009, -0/+1funny but should have been a bit more picnicface
http://www.collegehumor.com/video:1761896 - chewbacca77, on 01/06/2009, -0/+1Christians are racists and Nazis? That's a bit of a generalization.
- inactive, on 01/05/2009, -1/+2evidently
- chewbacca77, on 01/07/2009, -0/+1That very much depends on your interpretation of those verses.
Fixing the Earth could easily mean that its fixed in its path around the sun, not necessarily fixing it in a point in 3D space.
Obviously, the passage in Job is being metaphorical. Even the people of those days didn't expect God to literally shake the wicked off of the Earth. Why should the first part be taken literally. Even today we refer to the "corners of the Earth."
The verse in Daniel was a dream, and those are NEVER taken literally. Every dream in the Bible is abstract and requires interpretation.
The verse in Isaiah is actually good evidence to the contrary of what you're saying. What does a sphere look like from one perspective? A circle. - AtheistPride13, on 01/06/2009, -0/+1if i remember my history class the nazis were christians they were killing jews for jesus
also mormans said that the only way blacks can go to heaven is as a slave

Kind of like this - chewbacca77, on 01/06/2009, -0/+1The Bible doesn't say that the Earth is flat nor that it is the center of the universe..
- Ouchimoo, on 01/05/2009, -2/+3The thing that's going to infuriate me is that when SCIENCE get's enough research that they can regrow limbs, anytime an arm or a leg or a spine is regained the thanks will be to god. I mean, look at the way it is now. When someone survives cancer, goddidit. Pnemonia - god, car wreck- god, heart failure - god, freak accident - You guessed it - god.
You know, if god is so damn good at healing, maybe those people who believe it so exorbitantly should stay home when they are sick and injured. See how well god heals then. - Ouchimoo, on 01/05/2009, -2/+3 I personally won't watch anything from ebaumsworld but it's been resubmitted on to Youtube.

I have to say this is pretty disgusting. My vague memory is that when people started putting video's up about people 'desecrating the communion cracker' theotards went like mad to ban peoples' video and accounts. Yeah, sure say's something about how great and honest their religion is. It can't even stand up to the slightest criticism because it is so weak. - newfrickinshow, on 01/07/2009, -1/+11 Chronicles 16:30: “He has fixed the earth firm, immovable.”
Psalm 93:1: “Thou hast fixed the earth immovable and firm ...”
Psalm 96:10: “He has fixed the earth firm, immovable ...”
Psalm 104:5: “Thou didst fix the earth on its foundation so that it never can be shaken.”
Isaiah 45:18: “...who made the earth and fashioned it, and himself fixed it fast...”
In other words, the Earth doesn't move. Which means that the change in constellations, the sun, and moon, means that they all have to revolve around the earth in order to have the movement relative to ours. Theat is where the Bible says that the Earth is the center of the universe.
Now, the Bible doesn't specifically mention a flat earth, but it numerous times mentions the world as having "edges" or ends, as well as being a circle rather than a ball, sphere, etc.
(Job 38:13 NIV) that it might take the earth by the edges and shake the wicked out of it?
(Dan 4:10-11 NRSV) Upon my bed this is what I saw; there was a tree at the center of the earth, and its height was great. The tree grew great and strong, its top reached to heaven, and it was visible to the ends of the whole earth.
(Isa 40:22 NRSV) It is he who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers; who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, and spreads them like a tent to live in - tsproule, on 01/05/2009, -5/+2You are misrepresenting at least part of the religious right. My part. If you can, I'd like you to IMAGINE that a God created the earth over a period of 6 days approximately 6000 years ago. IMAGINE that is THE TRUTH, as many Christians believe. And I'm not talking about fuzzy "whatever makes you feel good is true for you" truth, but about "this is what really happened whether you like it or not and no matter what you believe or how much you believe it" truth. Can you picture that version of "the truth" just possibly being the real version of what happened in this planet's past?
Now look at the way evolution is taught and the language which ITS believers use: "This happened millions of years ago" and "That happened billions of years ago" - statements made with confidence as though there are no doubts - all in reference to things which are INFERRED, not witnessed. Evolutionists (people who believe in evolution, whether or not they are scientists) rarely say "we believe this" or "evidence SEEMS to suggest that".
If you believed "special creation" was true, you would feel, as I do, that evolutionist are wildly irresponsible in the way they convey information. They represent theory as fact and some beliefs (which just might turn out to be true) as "proven" impossible.
I am a Christian AND a scientist. I do responsible research five days a week, following the scientific method and not stating as fact any but the most basic conclusions I reach. Everything beyond that is extrapolation and conjecture. Christians like myself do not ask for equal time in the schools to state as fact our version of history as our opponents do. We ask that science classes, and any other classes in which there is need to refer to events beyond human experience and record, deal with those events responsibly. If I had my way, evolution would be dropped from science curriculums as IRRELEVANT, as well as unsupported. The ONLY application it has to our lives is its influence upon our belief systems. Evolutionary beliefs do not in any way help us to better build cars or fight diseases or do anything else worthwhile. And if they are really leading people away from God, because people are told "if it's supported by science it must be true", they are doing a great deal of harm. - eastcoast1978, on 01/05/2009, -14/+6Pretty ignorant video
