- veriix, on 09/30/2008, -23/+265Here's a tip for the rich folks: go ***** yourself
- cyrusuncc, on 09/30/2008, -9/+200140 Billion
- tm13lke, on 09/30/2008, -2/+169Cheap bastards only putting in a dollar.
- thecheat1, on 09/30/2008, -3/+154Politics aside, this is hilarious.
- pintomp3, on 09/30/2008, -1/+82$700 billion is just the tip.
- kurupttek, on 09/30/2008, -5/+71Thank you
- cyrusuncc, on 09/30/2008, -3/+60That's what she said!
- inactive, on 09/30/2008, -3/+45America... ***** Yeah!
- abran1984, on 09/30/2008, -0/+36I really want to make a political statement here but I'm not sure who to be mad at
- SanTe, on 09/30/2008, -7/+40Since when is 16% cheap, and since when is 20% the new norm?
Tipping used to be 10% for good service. Sometime while I was growing up it sneaked up to 15% for no discernable reason other than a whisper campaign. Now people demand 20% for doing their jobs, but nothing beyond the bare minimum. Pretty soon it'll be up to 25%.
I tip only for table service in a restaurant, and cab drivers if they are nice and are helpful. If it's self service in a food/drink establishment, screw the tip jar on the counter. That isn't personal service beyond what's customary and expected; that's you doing the basic requirement of the job. If you don't like it, learn some skills and find a better job, or unionize and demand a living wage from your employer. - Fhwqhgads, on 09/30/2008, -1/+33Right click to save and I get spaceball.gif which is a blank image.
Why does flickr do that sometimes? - linagee, on 09/30/2008, -1/+31No thanks, I've already tipped 25% of my salary to the government. (25% is a good tip, right?)
- pathouston22, on 09/30/2008, -5/+34Here's a tip for the poor folks:
NO TIP!!! HAHA. - KingGorilla, on 09/30/2008, -1/+25Buy a go kart?
- SLYK, on 09/30/2008, -6/+29go home. you're ruining it for everyone.
- alecks, on 09/30/2008, -1/+23on a serious note, does anyone know how the money will be allocated. Is there really a possibility that CEO's of failed said failed banks could touch even a penny of this 700Billion ??
If so they should be shot - kurupttek, on 09/30/2008, -1/+22http://i36.tinypic.com/xwnzm.jpg
There you go - Chompy, on 10/01/2008, -0/+21Yeah but the service sucked.
- fuzzmeister, on 09/30/2008, -5/+26Too bad "the rich folks" form the backbone of the economy that gives you your livelihood.
- bigmac375, on 09/30/2008, -1/+20until you decide to file bankruptcy, and do it all over again.
- Sornos, on 09/30/2008, -8/+26It's really naive to think that bailouts only affect the rich and that economic bankruptcy of the huge corporations which provide most of the economic impetus of the country won't affect the middle class.
- twertyto, on 09/30/2008, -5/+22Do us all a favor. Stay on reddit and don't come back.
- inactive, on 09/30/2008, -2/+19I don't care if you guys call me cheap, I do twice tax (~16%), its easier and it saves time.
- shortbusgeek, on 09/30/2008, -4/+17Actually, W isn't the only one. Obama and McCain are both for the bailout too. Bob Barr (Libertarian Party Presidential Candidate) has been saying no to this bailout the whole time though. Might wanna take a look at his website - http://www.BobBarr2008.com
- easthigh, on 09/30/2008, -1/+13Anyone have change for a button?
- gametavern, on 09/30/2008, -1/+13if the photographer doesn't want to share the image (see no "all sizes" link), you get that crap... screen capture still works.
- carnivore0311, on 09/30/2008, -3/+15If the rich ***** pooled some of their own money together they could bail their own asses out.
- Demener, on 09/30/2008, -2/+13Palin and Bush were adamant about giving the CEOs their severance pay of tens of millions (each).
- BoneStamp, on 09/30/2008, -3/+14The credit market froze on the 15th until the "bailout" was announced. The middle class NEEDS the credit market to borrow money for houses, cars...etc. Without the credit market, their standard of living will decrease. This is not a bailout, we're not giving money away... we're buying part of a company, 80% of that company... and if we can make it profitable then this will help the economy more than if this company was successful on its own.
- ani625, on 09/30/2008, -10/+21Corporate Socialism for the super rich ftl !
- biggerapple3am, on 10/01/2008, -0/+11I tip 437% every time, no matter the circumstances. Unless it's Tuesday, then I run out without paying.
- fuzzmeister, on 09/30/2008, -6/+16The very same "corporate socialism" that will keep your bank from collapsing and your credit line open.
- hilo4321, on 09/30/2008, -0/+10dragon drop? i like it
is this an ESL thing or just funny? (or stupid?) - bigmac375, on 09/30/2008, -3/+12you were dugg up until it made it if thgat makes you feel any better
- diskit, on 09/30/2008, -0/+9I can't remember 100%, but I think using Adblock I right clicked and blocked spaceball.gif.
After that I can save all the files I want. - bluewithinblue, on 09/30/2008, -8/+17This is stupid dangerous joke, popular though it is. If we go into economic meltdown it will be the poorest people in America that suffer, not the richest. This isn't a game anymore.
- Drax0n, on 09/30/2008, -0/+9Was it ever a game? Well I suppose to the fat cats making millions a year its just been one big game of monopoly for years, To bad society just landed on boardwalk with a hotel.
- Oea420, on 10/01/2008, -1/+9I was going to reply with something witty about how it's not rich-folks who form the backbone of the economy, but working-class Americans.
Guess what? I couldn't figure out anything witty to say.. because rich folks pretty much do form the backbone of the economy.. hah - UnstableMind, on 09/30/2008, -3/+11If there are businesses out there whose business model is not making goods, servicing, or providing a real product or solution and are so dependent on these bad investments to sustain their businesses, then they probably deserve to go under. Don't try to convince me that I will lay off my employees b/c some investment banks do not get handouts from us taxpayers and are forced to sell what they have left to other institutions who made better choices than them.
- Hincapie, on 09/30/2008, -1/+9agreed. the whole thing is a bit confusing
- Deonos, on 09/30/2008, -2/+10Copyright protection? Not sure.
- Jordan117, on 09/30/2008, -0/+8The rich people whose financial systems fund the day-to-day operations of most small-to-medium sized businesses in this country.
Seriously, people. Yes, greedy speculators are part of the problem, but letting their institutions totally collapse would be cutting off our collective noses to spite our face.
It's a ***** situation all around, but we've got to do something to keep our basic economic systems afloat to avoid a total collapse of the credit market. - franklymister, on 09/30/2008, -1/+8All you have to do is view the page without CSS formatting, and you can download any Flickr images, even if the photographer has turned off that ability.
In Firefox, just View > Page Style > No Style - inactive, on 09/30/2008, -0/+7It's good to know people still care.
- megapeg, on 09/30/2008, -5/+12I'm pretty sure I served you food out of the bus tub once.
- oldhick, on 09/30/2008, -0/+7When was it a game? When companies made horrible business decisions? When CEO's got rich while destroying their own companies.
The market MUST correct. All a bailout will do is postpone the inevitable, devalue our currency further, punish well managed companies and reward poorly managed companies.
Who's talking about games? - inactive, on 10/01/2008, -2/+9Yeah dude! Stick it to The Man! You're such a rebel! Everyone, let's follow this guy and digg him up, he's a rebel, and he's fighting the power!
- Paulorific, on 10/01/2008, -1/+8Pretty sure it's customary to tip 15%, not 20.
- diggopolous, on 09/30/2008, -0/+7the only good use of pennies are for insulting waiters
