- TheAnti, on 10/12/2007, -4/+140That guy signed his death warrant with that comment, I think Bill was trying to send him a deathray but his brain bluescreened.
- skellingtonjr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+124Man that punch line was great. But the look on Bills face was priceless.
- Haroldx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+98I loved bill's expression
- combatchuck, on 10/12/2007, -1/+62"I loved bill's expression"
That was about as close to him saying, "you *****" that I've ever seen.
Digg because it's funny. - masterjenkins, on 10/12/2007, -1/+62I was having trouble determining if it was the look of death, or the look of confusion Bill gave him.
- hvatsun, on 10/12/2007, -5/+44I bet that guy was moved into the basement to deal with the cockroach problem.
- bbeahm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+39I bet he went home and cried in pile of hundred dollar bills.
- afx1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+37Famous from the NT logon...right...
- foolonthehill, on 10/12/2007, -1/+32Oh I'm sure he knew exactly what he was saying (whatever he claimed later on). I don't think Bill Gates was actually that annoyed though. He looked to me more like he wasn't taking it too seriously but couldn't come up with a good/funny response.
- justinmt7, on 10/12/2007, -3/+33awesome. I always wondered where that came from.

"I may have invented control-alt-delete, but Bill (Gates) made it famous." — at a gathering at the twentieth anniversary of the IBM PC, whilst sitting in a panel with Bill Gates.
knowing that he is the inventor of the 3finger salute, he definitely the right person to make the bashing... but still, it take much gut to pull it up. - Lumiras, on 10/12/2007, -1/+26Bill Gates seems like a pretty easygoing guy most of the time, but he sure can give a stare of death, as evidenced by this video :)
- iChris, on 10/12/2007, -2/+26Dave worked for the IBM team that designed and built the first IBM PC in Boca Raton, FL. He never worked for Bill. This clip is from an anniversary celebration of the PC. Dave has explained that he didn't really mean to slam Bill for writing buggy software, requiring lots of three-finger-salutes. He was tryingto say that Microsoft documented and featured his programmer's shortcut. It was just one of those priceless, Freudian slips.
- shagen, on 10/12/2007, -4/+23Found it hilarious to get back at your boss publicly; and yeah...that's what he meant...lol...
- sneakerelph, on 10/12/2007, -4/+23"so if you could get a can of pesticide, that would be great...."
- Simen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19Kinda fun how the audiences' "Hahahaha" turned into an "Oooh" when they realized how Bill was taking it.
- missflibbles, on 10/12/2007, -3/+21Does Bill Gates leave a horse head in your bed, or what?
- Wavey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17Haha...now that was a real BSoD. Bill's Stare of Death.
- ChessPoker, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18@foolonthehill
That's exactly right. Bill's initial reaction was a polite smile. Bill didn't find it hilarious so that's why he didn't laugh boisterously. I don't believe Bill is a witty person, so he just smiled politely rather than invent a funny rejoinder.
It's Dave who made the situation awkward by dwelling on it with his lame explanation for what he meant. It's better to just let the moment pass. - n8dawg87, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15You know what thats the exact same expression that was on his face when Windows Media Centre locked up on him on Conan. Classic.
- Simen, on 10/12/2007, -5/+19...and he made billions doing it.
(Got to give the guy some credit) - rbanffy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Back in early 98 or so, I was doing a demo of IIS 4 for a room full of ISP employees, showing how IIS had that process isolation thing it used to prevent IIS from going down because of a buggy DLL in one hosted site.
I installed the demo following the script to the letter. I tested it on my notebook at home and it worked. I tested it before the presentation on the same notebook and it worked. I rebooted and gave the presentation from that same notebook.
When I was showing that specific feature, IIS crashed bad.
A couple months later, on Comdex, when 98 BSOD'd on Bill, I felt vindicated. - yokat, on 10/12/2007, -11/+18told
- Zippo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Nothing beats the "I'm going to kill you in your sleep" smirk Bill sports after that.
- golgo13, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Anyone know where I can the rest of this video?
- honorablesauce, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6It was the stare that made it uncomfortable.
- Sukino, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Control-Alt-Delete
- Travisncs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6David Bradley (last i know) is alive and kicking. One of the best professors i had in school. He was an adjunct prof. that taught random EE classes. I took data structures from him. Did a lot of vegas/gambling examples. Who knew school could be so fun
- Ratty, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Win2k is NT 5
XP is NT 5.1
Vista is NT 6 - drpatter, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Dr. Bradley was an adjunct professor at NC State University for a handful of years. I was lucky enough to have him teach a few of my Fundamentals of Logic Design course, freshman year. Great teacher, lots of fun. He was very modest about the whole ctl-alt-del thing at the time.
I wonder if he gets royalties each time it is used. *cha-ching* - steve693, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Wilford Brimley sure told Bill Gates a thing or two.
- kallgaier, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Man, I needed a good laugh today, and that certainly gave it to me!!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8Meanwhile, Gates is still one of the richest men alive with a killer house and legacy.
- SoxFanNH, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Hillarious, what a stare from Gates, and the reaction Bradley was priceless, after he realized what a hole he dug for himself.
- airstrike, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8argh, quicktime
- chris86wm, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6look on bill's face = priceless
- Jarama, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Very funny.
You can download the avi from
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-3877405527381660901 - david76, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4A Microsoft Architect giving a presentation didn't take it as well when I gave him a little dig about Windows 95. He was talking about how some people actually design systems to be rebooted every day. And I said "Oh, like Windows 95?" He then went on a little tangent about compromises between a 16 and 32-bit architecture.
- denaje, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4No kidding! That was hilarious.
- TravisS, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6When I see videos like this it always makes me wonder, When Bill Gates uses his computer does it crash? does it get spyware? Of course it does. OR does Bill secretly use a Mac when no one is looking ;)
- olego, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5dubwai, you are an igroramus.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Gates#Personal_life - PissedGodzilla, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4..... And that was the last time that man was ever seen again....
- erslincoln, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4that's way funny. gates is shooting some major daggers there...
- hayden.evans, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1OH SNAP!
- elmerfudd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is poetic! One of Bill's early road kills once told me, "f**k him if he can't take a joke...". My friend's story is a long one, but suffice to say that Bill wasn't known back then for playing nicely with others...
Rockefeller turned his image totally around through some philanthropy and a lot of PR, to the point that little children cried when they heard he died (or so the story goes). Looks like Bill is trying to pull that off also. He'll probably get away with it too. At least it will benefit a lot of truly suffering and needy people, so who am I to judge? - enclave2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1In the words of the rap group Outkast:
"ICE COLD" - fjacky66, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Great video,dugg...
- Millan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wow, the expression on Bill's face is priceless!
- yathosho, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1hm, i've seen this before. from where would i have gotten the link if not on this site? double post?
- manitoba98xp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1He was just talking about how Ctrl+Alt+Delete is used when the system hangs. Also, Ctrl+Alt+Delete is used to reboot a system after a Blue Screen of Death.
