- philovivero, on 10/11/2007, -2/+71It's illegal to order a chalupa if you're a robot? I mean... did Optimus not have cash on him... her... it...? Or what? I don't understand the problem. Is this another in a long string of the "In the post-9/11 world, we must not have a sense of humour" consequences?
What cracked me up was the bewildered girl that first came to the window. You could see that she looked at Optimus, considered whether or not her life was at stake, decided "no," but that she didn't want to do any work anyway, and wandered off in search of the fat manager. - blorc, on 10/11/2007, -2/+62Rofl, that's pretty good. I think their manager has been eating too much of their food.
- Bob042, on 10/11/2007, -0/+57I think part of the problem might be that McDonalds doesn't sell chalupas...
- JKVM, on 10/11/2007, -1/+57Wow, that manager was a fatass *****.
- sphark, on 10/11/2007, -1/+40Err... Make that Gizmodo... another great blog. Damnit!
- kevinway, on 10/11/2007, -4/+38It seems pretty inappropriate for the manager of the McDonald's at 5454 Mission St , San Francisco, CA, (415) 333-1011, to call the police over somebody attempting to order food through a mask.
If you agree with me, that it's a waste of taxpayer resources (and wholly inappropriate), perhaps you'd like to give him a call, and share any managerial advice you might have for him. - supermanred, on 10/11/2007, -2/+35Manager is a doofus. This isnt funny at all. Very sad. In Canada, you can order as Optimus Prime any time yu want.
- fudgeigor, on 10/11/2007, -2/+32It's Optimus ***** Prime. He should be able to get a chalupa at a Chinese restaurant if he damn well pleases. Hunger get what Hunger Want.
- h4mx0r, on 10/11/2007, -0/+25What an ass. If I were the manager, I'd give her two fajitas for being so damn awesome.
- iamjames, on 10/11/2007, -1/+16I KNEW Optimus Prime wore pearls.
- resplence, on 10/11/2007, -0/+15I find it amazing that you cannot freely walk around in a costume. Unless it's Halloween, I suppose. But try hanging around in a mall, in a regular day, dressed as Darth Vader, for instance. Mall security personnel will escort you out in no-time. Getting transportation is also a pain. Somehow people think it's illegal or something, and deny all sorts of services.
I know, it happened to me. - fudgeigor, on 10/11/2007, -1/+15Thats wonderful, counter an idiot with a racist remark. Thank You for bringing the collective IQ of Diggers just that much lower.
- ygrof, on 10/11/2007, -0/+12Equality for robots!
- cyberwarriorx, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11Don't forget what happened to the last guy who posted contact information and encouraged digg users to harass.
- zweben, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10I have a feeling the cops already know to ignore this guy.
"Hey John- That McDonalds fool has an ROBOT ordering today.
That definitely beats the ketchup incident." - trubbleshute, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10Craig from Malcolm in the middle?
Seriously, why take down the license plate? I'd laugh it up. - thehuntedpossum, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9target sells them in the toy section.
- themastersb, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9This is more of an outrage than that armless woman being refused service! Optimus should sue for 5 million!
- FoolishMortal, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8Where do I get one of those helmets?
- iamjames, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7why didn't the manager just say "we don't sell chalupas"? Why call the cops?
- truman48, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7I can see it now, 'children witnessing Optimus Prime getting tazed and maced'
- Whammo, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8To her it was a harmless prank on a chubby McDonalds manager. But for him it was an exciting opportunity to call Homeland Security on a dangerous white girl in a terrorist mask. Just another day livin la vida loca as a Mickey D's manager. He probably jacked off thinking about her later.
- dinobot, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Chalupas is a right for all sentient beings!
- fudgeigor, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6I think if the manager deserved wrath to be brought on him, Optimus could do it his damn self.
Not that I am against giving this manager trouble or anything. - NeoCortex, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6"I want a boy toy for my Happy Meal"
Any girl willing to wear an Optimus Prime mask outside and order fast food in it is a keeper in my book. - mal1964, on 10/11/2007, -7/+12I would of served her a real pearl necklace..
- brucerchapman, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Dugg up for featuring a pimping 1970's Mercedes. Those things are great.5
- tektalk, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Well what did you do?
- ozid, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6so you wouldn't have splooged on her neck? just ponied up 125 bucks for a necklace?
- djphatjive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Ummmmm Target.
- Urusai, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Too many chalupas shoved into his fat face, obviously. McChalupas, even.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Or as Cheeseburger Eddie from The Longest Yard would say, he's a "McAsshole"!
- KielKilla, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Do you not remember how that guy got into legal troubles from someone posting his ex girlfriends phone number on digg. LEARN FROM THAT. And on top of that if you go give your "digg justice" your probably much more of an ***** then he is.
- KielKilla, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3-1
- parkermauney, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3It's a public resturaunt.
- magus_melchior, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2A public place doesn't justify harassment, let alone negate it.
In one sense, it's worse for one to do it in a public place, because you'll give the victim witnesses.
Not to say that anyone should be harassed under any circumstances... - ozid, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2what are you talking about? what race ARE Hispanic people, then?
- Zoshchenko, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Thanks to our government's constant warnings about how dangerous a world we live in, everyone is SO uptight! This fat ass manager calls the police because someone is wearing a robot mask in the drive through? I'm sure the cops would be just as humorless, which is sad.
- grantmoore3d, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I bet someone dressed as Darth Mual would be able to order McDonalds, despite being a inter-galactic terrorist.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2You're not on a public roadway. There was no gathering.
- GTMopo3, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Isn't there a law prohibiting the covering of your face during a peaceful gathering? I think the KKK ran into this or caused this law. It is possible to that wearing a mask while driving could hinder your ability to drive.
- S1ngular1ty1, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2In Soviet Russia, robot dressed as person orders you!!
- toonworld, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2I'll take "Fat ugly McDonald's manger with no sense of humor for a 1000, Alex"
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Dude, its a public number. That guy posted that woman's personal cell phone number.
- nonstop87, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1if you didn't notice they did order but nope the fat ass manager withheld her food. So them ordering and and leaving was sorta out of the question seeing how they wanted some food
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1"Is this another in a long string of the "In the post-9/11 world, we must not have a sense of humour" consequences?" ---- yeah, because before 9/11 every joke was laughed at.
- CryptiniteDemon, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2You guys are morons if you're trying to defend this person. She was in that stupid optimus mask ordering Taco Bell food at a McDonalds. Obviously it's harassment and I think the manager acted accordingly. And of course the only thing you guys can insult him about is that he's fat. Same tactic people use against Michael Moore when they're too stupid to come up with intelligent insults.
- Sawta, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Speaking as someone who's just gotten out of the fast food industry (Thank god) I can say that a *large* amount of managers at fast food managers will react the same way this guy did. The sad part is that I'm sure that that manager is a perfectly normal guy outside of work but for whatever reason, fast food jobs lead to large amounts of needless stress (one of the reasons why I quit.)
This wouldn't have been an issue if they had actually ordered something and left, but by refusing to move they were blocking the entirety of the drive through. I don't know if its illegal or not (I doubt it), but managers will usually just phone the police to scare kids off. Even if this wasn't illegal, it's still very disrespectful to the people who were just trying to work their ***** job. Sorry if they didn't find it as hilarious as the people who were filming it. - Zuhaib, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Its actually sad that i know that McDonald's as its not to far from my house. Never eaten there much to know who is the Manager. Then again, like someone said does McD even server a chalupa?
- grantmoore3d, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1What are the "feds" going to do, send the bloody Decepticons after poor Optimus? I think we all know the ass kicking that will ensue...
