I let the lady go through her spiel for whatever product she was hawking. I had no idea what she was saying, I was just watching TV, waiting for the pause in the script where I'm supposed to give some response.
The opening spiel went on for a long time, but when my predetermined space for response came up, I said clearly and matter-of factly, "I'm not wearing any pants."
