- DeskFlyer, on 10/10/2007, -2/+26Submitter, don't you think 54 Flicklife video submissions in the past 10 days is a little excessive?
- masterskill, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8So I see flicklife got a new player. Better, but it still doesn't make it worth waiting for.
The only people who submit stuff from flicklife are ONLY submitting stuff from flicklife. The video may be good, but stop digging the flicklife spammers to the front page. - LordSlashstab55, on 10/10/2007, -2/+10It WOULDN'T be RAN by the government, it would be FUNDED by the government. Hello, the police, military, and firemen are FUNDED by the government. Why not let the ambulance follow suit????
- ironman110, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4not all things should be privatized. some things are good others are not . its that simple.
- rhinopig, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3It would be ironic if he was made of iron.
- dsmx, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3To all those people who think government funded universal healthcare is a bad thing, Can any of you name even 1 Industrialised country with free Universal healthcare that is ranked worse in the WHO rankings than the USA? I don't know of any.
Further to this you would pay less for healthcare than you do currently, get a better service than you do currently and you'd be a healthier nation because of this. How can you defend a system that means a huge proportion have no healthcare, means you pay more, get a worse service and to cap it all off even if you are "covered" by your health insurance the company will do everything in it's power to get any money it pays you for your healthcare back? - canadian8703, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4That was pretty good, i could hear the song in my head reading that
- Urusai, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3What gets me is that just going by simple dollar figures, it's cheaper to socialize medicine. You'd think conservatives would take that into consideration, but then modern conservatives seem hell-bent on spending as much money as possible.
- bugsy187, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5It works better than our health care system and in every other industrialized nation that I'm aware of. Isn't a better system the important thing?
- cranium, on 10/10/2007, -5/+8Seems kinda ironic that the same guy who decries the military-industrial complex is advocating the creation of the same kind of relationship between the government and the healthcare industry.
- Poco, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4I don't think that is irony. It would be ironic if he was advocating that the military be made private and health care be made public, but I haven't heard him suggest that a private military is the answer.
- Poco, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3I don't know why the comments about this are discussing health care. The most significant issue, to me, brought up in this video is that it is illegal for American citizens to go to Cuba (well, technically I think the law is something about giving them money, but it is hard to go there for free).
If you don't like the government of a country what is your best course of action? Block all trade with that country and pretend they don't exist or increase trade and communication to help inform the public and lift that country out of a dictatorship? The best thing that could be done for Cubans would be increase trade and increase foreign presence and ideas, not try to limit them. But I guess that isn't really about the people of Cuba, more about the government, but that is the problem.
The only reason Cuba hasn't turned into North Korea is that all the other countries around it have a reasonable relationship with Cuba (and it is not Cuba that is blocking all interaction).
If the government took that stand with Iraq (just ignore them and make it illegal to go there) then there wouldn't be a war. So maybe it is good to leave things alone with Cuba or we might have to invade. - ironman110, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I live in denmark and everybodys healthy (sort of) at least they get care and when everybody is feeling good its good for the country too. You americans are getting ***** big time and the companies are doing it. wake up and follow the money. its that simple.. There will always be a better way to do things. How are people feeling in America?
- epyon180, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Thank you for stating the obvious.
- RickRoll, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3I guess any journalist that tries to actually form a thesis with their work, cannot be considered one. I guess you've never heard of the term "investigative journalist."
- ratheunknown, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3Although he is selling something.......It still is very informative......We have the illusion of freedom, what could we want more
- EscapeVelocity, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2I'm not sure myself. Some people say flicklife is a lot slower than YouTube, but having broadband I doubt my eyes notice the difference in speed. YouTube's original intent was to be about the person submitting the video. If you ask me, users of YouTubeare trying to turn it into flick life, metacafe, and the others. YouTube is supposed to be about video blogging, discussions, home-made entertainment...not uploading videos of TV shows and other miscellaneous clips.
- rowlodge, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1anybody notice how fat he is?
- mindsnare, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1it annoys me because it's always slow as *****
- RGT88, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I think certain people are against universal health care simply for the sake of being against it...almost as if "hey damn it we're the US...we're too good for this sort of nonsense" Even though most other developed countries have such a system in place. They have private health care and public health care...so people have the right to choose where they go. And quality of treatment is top notch. It's so stupid not to have it here. It's pathetic...
- JJ, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Kids also often resort to name tactics when being scolded by parents.
- rhinopig, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3"9 ... 11!"
Seriously, I liked sicko a lot and am even more in favor of universal health care because of it, but Moore really looked like a dick in this. As Jay pointed out, he wasn't subpoenaed for helping 911 workers he was subpoenaed for visiting Cuba (which was to help 911 workers, as well as make his movie, but that isn't why the subpoenaed him). And then he went on about donating to 911 and how George Bush doesn't care about 911 workers etc. (after being all coy about mentioning the subpoena.)
I do support universal health care, and I do think the ban on visiting Cuba is ridiculous, but Moore really came of as a whore in this clip. - xerus, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Wow, guess diggers arent fans of Chocolate Rain... well, since they're all AOL Grandmas now, I'm not surprised.
- dsmx, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1The USA can afford universal healthcare, all it would have to do is cut the bloated Military budget by 10% and you could pay for universal healthcare. Why are you insisting on arguing against a system that is cheaper to run than the current system?
- afx1, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2submitter is flicklife's spammer. instead of spamming us with their crap and hoping one sticks (like this video), they need to upgrade the connection on their server. feels like a 10mbps pipe.
- jthen, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1This nation cannot afford universal healthcare. It would just end up borrowing/printing more money, causing an increase in inflation, and hurting the poor. Granted, in an ideal situation, universal healthcare would be better than the status quo. But there is a better answer that does not require bankrupting the country--the free market. A lot more people got healthcare (from charities and churches when they couldn't afford it) before the government stepped in. The free market also allows innovation. Can you name a country with universal healthcare that is as innovative as we are in medicine?
- rowlodge, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1i get where he's coming from but it's just worn off now. funny at first. he's a voice for the poor and downtrodden, okay.
- artofwar420, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Because people like jthen don't want it to, much to our disgrace he form part of a majority.
- jthen, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1So who decides what kind of care is paid for, or is every medical procedure, prescription, and consultation free? And, by the way, the government doesn't FUND anything--taxpayers do.
- BESTenemy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Travel ban is not about Cuba being good or bad in present or in the past, but more about our government calling this place "a free country", yet telling citizens what they can or cannot do. Was the current generation responsible for the Cuban revolution? Was the current generation the cause for Cuban Missile crisis?
What does any citizen living today have to do with political tensions between the 2 governments? I'm a citizen of this planet, damnit! Any Cuban is as much of a relative to me as any other person. I'm no political tool. I do whatever the hell I want! - fragile00, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Universal Health Care? As my friend from the Navy would say... 'Roger that *****!'
- jester55, on 10/10/2007, -3/+4what is wrong with flicklife... i think i missed something
- bugsy187, on 10/10/2007, -4/+4Moore makes good arguments about the problems of the US health care system. We would all be wise to consider his points, rather than writing them off as "spam" from a "spam" site. Let's vote to make a change.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -3/+3The main reason is because they spam digg with dupe submissions with one account and another. Have a look at this submitters submissions http://digg.com/users/pchound1955/videos/submitted
- xerus, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2+100
Take that. - jthen, on 10/10/2007, -6/+6There is something seriously wrong with healthcare in this country, but it's definitely not that the government is not involved enough. It might work in a small country (or at the state level), but having federally controlled universal healthcare will yank down the quality of care and jack up the price of anything NOT run by the government. Moore does a good job of revealing the problem, but he doesn't understand the solution.
- noonzie, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1who cares were it comes from. All my video posts come from youtube.com. Maybe we should ban youtube
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2MICHEAL MOORE FOR PRES.
- jthen, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1He did take non-journalists with him, though, for non-journalistic purposes.
- RedSharpie, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0So all innovation comes from the USA? Don’t think so because newer treatments are very expensive and would not be covered because there is less incentive for the insurance company to make a profit. All single payer is doing is removing the middleman that wants to deny you coverage. It's that simple. And talk about an economic stimulus. Think the small business growth explosion by not having to worry about health care benefits for employees.
Because you are young and healthy and can afford insurance now, doesn’t mean you will always be able to. - Fhwqhgads, on 10/10/2007, -3/+3The Almighty Moore always gets my digg.
- Lrn2Fish, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Ironic? No I think you meant harmonic. One system brings death, the other brings life. They are exactly the opposite. It seems that you would HAVE to have that point of view. You pretty much have to be for one or the other.
- knockout2007, on 10/10/2007, -2/+0I think flicklife is going to buy youtube
- LordSlashstab55, on 10/10/2007, -3/+1it's about the content over medium
- pchound1955, on 10/10/2007, -9/+7this comment burried because you posted your real pic on your profile HAHAHAHA DORK!http://digg.com/userimages/a/n/a/anarchrist/large6130.jpg
