- wedges, on 09/05/2008, -0/+104better question, i'm trying to build a shed to keep my lawncare stuff in, and i was thinking instead of buying one or using wood panels i could make one out of these blocks. are these strong enough to use for construction? if so do you know the best way to do this, or can you help me do it this weekend?

Just in case you really DO want to build a shed.
I would suggest that you stop by Home Depot, because they often give "classes" that teach you how to do various handy things like apply a faux finish to cement, paint, etc. They may teach you how to mortar. Yes, these blocks are safe for construction, but you'll have to get a few more things.
There is also a torrent of TPB under "Other" that has lots of "How to" stuff.
The (*****) blocks.
Mortar
Bracketry (for roof support and door hardware.)
Some treated wood. (Make sure it's moisture resistant. This will be your roof and door.)
Shingles (To protect the wood.)
Screws ( get some w/Plastic anchors too if you want to hang shelving. Maybe tapcons if you can't find the anchors.)
Caulk (Optional, but I prefer my work to not leak)
Paint w/brushes (Optional, but I prefer my work to look pretty)
Wire mesh (Optional, to provide some ventilation for the hot summer months if you live in the south.)
A lock or locking door knob. (So that the ***** thing won't suck.)
Note: if you use a door knob, make sure it's listed for outdoor use. Otherwise they can rust and completely crap out. You will also need a hole saw of the proper size.
If you want to get fancy, you could add a light/plugs. To be legal according to the Nat'l Electric code, your circuit must be ran underground. I'd run 2 sets of #12 hot (Red or Black in residential normally), Neutral (white), and ground (green). I'd put it in 3/4" PVC with a rigid (Steel) neck, so you don't accidentally break the pipe if you hit it with a lawn mower or something.
Also, if you don't want to mess with shingles, you could always get some sheet metal for your roof. It is easier to take care of. Just make you that you seal each screw hole.
It may sound difficult, but it really isn't.
Go to home depot and get some laborers if you're cheap. Call a mason, and an electrician if you want it done right. - wedges, on 09/05/2008, -1/+41somehow for this one i don't mind a repost.
- PopASquatt, on 09/05/2008, -4/+38No.

- dezertrat, on 09/05/2008, -1/+27http://www.craigslist.org/about/best/all/
- merreborn, on 09/05/2008, -1/+25No, the ***** blocks aren't still ***** available. Some ***** idiot bought them all 10 months ago.
- FriedTurkey, on 09/05/2008, -1/+25Yeah everytime I sell something on Ebay and Craigslist you get a bunch of ***** that waste your time. They aren't even serious. It is like they are shut-in who just want somebody to talk to. They request you do ***** and they never follow up. I was selling a PS2 game for 2.00 and some guy wants me to email him a picture of the DVD. I am like "***** You". They submit questions for things that are answered in the Ebay post. Doesn't matter how big I put the font for "includes manual and case." Some ***** always asks "Does it come with a manual and case?"

- Reziarfg, on 09/06/2008, -1/+24Holy *****, I know how to build a shed now...
I don't really WANT to build a shed. But now I could if I wanted to.

- bitterbug, on 09/05/2008, -2/+17Yeah, it happens with everything.
Or you post something (like an appliance) that was $400 new, in mint condition, for $200 and you get people offering $50, or giving you a big sob story about how they can't afford $200 and would you take less.
Really, if people are that hard up for money then buy the ***** beat up ***** other people are selling. - thatsmyaibo, on 09/06/2008, -2/+17Diggers probably ran out of Palin/McCain slander.
