youtube.com — This is sort of old but i didn't find any other copies of it on digg. On John Mayer's first and only episode of his tv show, the first skit he does is wear a bear suit and interacts with fans outside in a parking lot before his show.

    This is a kick-ass video of him, I saw this show live. It was indescribable. YOu just need to see this if you in any way appreciate music.

The difference between them is that while he can play the same things as them, they invented what he's playing. Nothing he's done is original, he just put a pretty face on a genre that--by its nature--was supposed to be gritty; then dulled it down and made it fit under the cookie cutter "pop-rock" label to make money. And he has. But he's still a douchebag in my book.
