Mel Blanc (Bugs Bunny, Yosemite Sam, Porky Pig) plays a store clerk who Jack tortures by continually changing the card on a gift he purchases, and the gift itself. Mel Blanc starts crying and whimpering, and you can see Jack trying to cover his mouth to hide the fact that he's laughing.
Just for those who don't know Jack Benny's comedy routines, one of the common themes is how cheap he is with money, and his age. He also has a bit of Seinfeld's selfishness "oh that's a shame". I'll find a link to the scene, but I recommend watching the whole thing. Feel free to skip the music number and the state farm commercial in the middle as they are rather dated.
