- Czechxican, on 05/28/2008, -8/+52Haha. This is better than the Onion!
"This ***** ain't free" - Buddhaismybuddy, on 05/28/2008, -6/+43In republic America the gas station robs you!
- Lephtovermeet, on 05/28/2008, -4/+35was expecting the Onion
- Mr.Gone, on 05/28/2008, -4/+20The site should be called www.TheScallion.com because it's like The Onion, only not nearly as good.
- dreadlocks, on 05/28/2008, -2/+16Free Ass Press.com? uhhh..
- BlackJackJester, on 05/28/2008, -6/+20My red light started going off when you used "Gas" and "Indy 500" in the same sentence - seeing how Indy cars don't run on gas...they use pure, homegrown ethanol.
- franklymister, on 05/28/2008, -8/+19"Hi, this is my blog.
I wish I wrote for The Onion, but I'm just not funny enough." - MCA2142, on 05/28/2008, -3/+12She must have realized that she's spending all this cash on gas and going around in a loop.
When does satire get old? NEVER! - ACiDGRiM, on 05/28/2008, -0/+7no thanks, I don't want any ass-press.
- emptyo, on 05/28/2008, -4/+11It ain't no Onion.
- asskicker32, on 05/28/2008, -0/+7come on... suspend reality for a minute
- delmar14, on 05/28/2008, -0/+6They still have to pay for it. A deduction does not mean that something is free, just that a percentage of it may be non-taxable.
- inactive, on 05/28/2008, -0/+6Gas is a common euphemism for fuel of any nature.
- Dylson, on 05/28/2008, -0/+5When will it stop?
- MacEnvy, on 05/28/2008, -0/+5Well, if we're going to get pedantic about it, IndyCars don't even run on gas, they run on a 98% ethanol mix.
- PabloMac, on 05/28/2008, -0/+4We need more Free-Ass. Press. What little I have ever gotten has cost me plenty.
- asskicker32, on 05/28/2008, -0/+4OOOOH. Or maybe those pickled pearl onions? Who eats that *****?
- inactive, on 05/28/2008, -5/+9Retarded! We need more articles like this
- Mr.Gone, on 05/28/2008, -0/+4OH hell ya! Or TheChives.com
- pukedukem, on 05/28/2008, -4/+8Um, they used Ethanol in the Indy 500. So the jokes kind of miss the mark.
But the Ethanol caused us to have higher food prices. double awesome Bros. - MagicIcarus, on 05/28/2008, -0/+4I rarely enjoy the onion, yet I found this quite funny.
- SPEEKALS, on 05/28/2008, -4/+8I still agree Lame
- LP88, on 05/28/2008, -0/+3I find this comment shallow and pedantic.
Shallow and pedantic indeed. - Dragan0, on 05/28/2008, -0/+3yet.
- HMMcKamikaze, on 05/28/2008, -0/+3You know, the motivation to drive in circles is to be the fastest one to do it, but if they didn't keep track of laps would you even be able to tell how well you were doing?
- TreatsTheBear, on 05/28/2008, -1/+4No, then it would have been funny. Or at least the headline and the first few sentences would have been funny, but that's as much as you would have read of it anyway, because you would have gotten the idea already.
- Gephoria, on 05/29/2008, -0/+2hope those wasteful bastards feel the pain every time they stop their car also
- shof515, on 05/28/2008, -0/+2I love the domain name. Free Ass Press
hmm, i could use one now - elliotys, on 05/28/2008, -2/+4How can that not be a Onion headline?
- kh99, on 05/28/2008, -2/+4I don't get it - no one's dumb enough to believe that, and yet it's not funny enough to be a joke.
- Bears38, on 05/29/2008, -0/+1Scuba, this is a tax mileage deduction related comment thread. Please start a new section about your man-sweat fetish.
- MtheoryX, on 05/29/2008, -0/+1Well come on, it's free. You have nothing to lose, except that big fat ass!
- Bears38, on 05/28/2008, -0/+1My point is that the increase in gas price for the average person is much more on a percentage basis as we are not able to deduct mileage. So he is able to save around 35%, or whatever his marginal tax rate happens to be, on each gallon. It's a small difference, but they travel at such great speeds, I'm sure someone like Helio Castroneves appreciates every penny of the $.505/mile he is able to deduct.
- RacerX2727, on 05/29/2008, -1/+2Somebody didn't read the article.
SATIRE - Simpson5774, on 05/29/2008, -0/+1Lets not forget, if they are using a credit card, they (the gas station) are loosing money due to the credit card service charge.
Still a great line though. - scoffey, on 05/29/2008, -0/+1imo better than quite a bit of the stuff i've read on the onion
- jaybob007, on 05/29/2008, -0/+1No, you're wrong. Formula 1 does not run the Indy 500. It's the Indy Racing League, and they do run on Ethanol.
http://www.indycar.com/tech/ethanol.php - alpha754293, on 05/31/2008, -0/+1That's funny. So...if a toilet bowl race with...Priuses...the new HASCAR???
- inactive, on 05/28/2008, -0/+1Only if they use their own vehicle in the course of conducting business. Since the car is team owned, the driver doesn't get the deduction.
- Contige, on 05/28/2008, -1/+2Seeing how that flame war hasn't happened, it would seem as though you took a bit too much time figuring out that it was satire, and are now compensating by trying to put labels on things you don't understand. You'd make a damn fine over-protective parent one day.
- asskicker32, on 05/28/2008, -1/+2I like scallions better than onion, for the most part. I think this should be called http://www.shallots.com because hate shallots.
- CCB0x45, on 05/28/2008, -1/+2rhubarb
- Hello1024, on 05/28/2008, -0/+1oh so fermenting food... Which is also as expensive!
- alphadog, on 05/29/2008, -1/+2 It is a sport! No one says that they had to race.
Cann't we come up with a better use for all of the gas that used during the race.
It is such a waste of resources.
The way I see it, they have two choices. 1) quit bitching about and accept it, or
2) get out of racing. - iota, on 05/28/2008, -0/+1i see what you did there
- bluedig, on 05/28/2008, -1/+1Why? Can't they afford it?
- tHeSiD, on 05/28/2008, -1/+1what the hell!?
- ttam, on 05/29/2008, -1/+1I'm no racing expert but I thought those cars didn't use gas.
