- petergerickson, on 04/08/2008, -3/+260Lugnuts are a bunch of pussies! Mudcats 4 life!
- billflu, on 04/08/2008, -1/+228Woah, this group went from low budget fun to all out, professionally done hidden (or in this case, not so hidden) camera show.
- Daniel591992, on 04/08/2008, -0/+204Oh, and props to NBC and GoodYear for helping out!
- semeticstallion, on 04/08/2008, -1/+154Definitely the most heartwarming prank they've ever done. Thanks for making my day (and certainly the kids' season).
- getrealnow, on 04/08/2008, -3/+142I thought it was going to be lame, but it was surprised refreshing, I mean the kids are going to remember that game for a long time. Then the email at the end from the parent was icing on the cake. We need more pranks like this haha
- dareyoutomove, on 04/08/2008, -2/+117Fantastic
- Daniel591992, on 04/08/2008, -1/+92I love how the kid says he has to ger used to that kind of stuff. Great job to Improv Everywhere for another outstanding prank!
- ArthurArchnix, on 04/08/2008, -3/+71Yeah... it's amazing how they managed to get the goodyear blimp, the mascot, the portable big screen, the booth, the hotdogs... that's some mad "improv" skills. It was more like "Extreme Makeover, Little league baseball edition"
- stephenwq, on 04/08/2008, -0/+66One of the best Improv Everywhere stunts, very professional.
For the small cost of NBC getting out the jumbotron and the Goodyear blimp they are going to get a hell of a lot of exposure in return, kudos to them for helping out anyway. - Zipko, on 04/08/2008, -0/+62IE is awsome!
Every year when they do the no pants subway ride I join in the event myself at work. Though last year was my third time and afterwards they asked me to please stop. - Metman, on 04/08/2008, -0/+53I dream of a day that these kinds of efforts from people and communities dominate the news headlines instead of being bombarded with sensationalized 'doom' news reports.
- greggerm, on 04/08/2008, -0/+49From the I.E. site, looks as though this was performed back in March 2007. Also from the I.E. site, they were working with NBC on a pilot version of the show for national broadcast. This must be one of the pranks they lined up with the network for use in the pilot. The financial backing needed, the clearance to use the NBC logos... and it would also explain why a year-old prank was just published this week - NBC probably needed to "release" the prank to I.E. given they weren't going to pick up the show.
All told though - it was a great bit. I wish I was there to witness it in person!! - treelovinhippie, on 04/08/2008, -0/+44Damn, Improv Everywhere are really picking up their game.
- inactive, on 04/08/2008, -0/+43Yeah I wouldn't want to see their lugnuts or mudcats
- sagat, on 04/08/2008, -1/+38Now it's going big budget.
- mstubz, on 04/08/2008, -0/+31Yeah what kind of deal did you score with NBC? Is this on national television now?
- shooper, on 04/08/2008, -0/+26Ok, I'm a geek. First time I read this comment, I saw "IE is awsome!" and thought Internet Explorer instead of Improv Everywhere. Damn... need to get outside more.
- rhisc, on 04/08/2008, -2/+28LOL at the Goodyear blimp!
- Koush, on 04/08/2008, -2/+28Thank goodness, those guys kept there trousers on.
- LoadStar, on 04/08/2008, -0/+25The FAQ on their webpage indicates that a pilot episode was filmed for NBC, but not picked up. This mission and the Frozen Grand Central mission both are likely footage from that pilot episode.
- ricree, on 04/08/2008, -1/+24It's a damned shame that that they were not picked up. The group is absolutely hilarious, and some of the pilot missions should have been convincing enough in and of themselves. Between this one and the food court musical, it seems clear that they could have put on a great show.
- cldershem, on 04/08/2008, -0/+22easily my favorite one of theirs. all it was missing was Rob getting lost in the stands.
- robalesi, on 04/08/2008, -0/+21This is easily one of the most universally appealing acts of kindness I've ever seen. Charlie Todd is a genius.
- greatprojects, on 04/08/2008, -0/+14That's really too bad it wasn't picked up, if that's the case. I would tune in for this show much more than most of what is programmed right now.
- McReynolds, on 04/08/2008, -1/+15It falls a streaker short of the big time game.
- inactive, on 04/08/2008, -1/+14Check out the muscles on the mudcats team ! Clearly some doping going on in this league !
I demand drug tests - bs0l, on 04/08/2008, -1/+13It was really nice they did this for kids too, not people who wouldn't appreciate it.
- LloydBentsen, on 04/08/2008, -1/+13Where's the Beer Man?
- LeonidasStokely, on 04/08/2008, -0/+11Screw you douchebag! LUGNUTS! LUGNUTS! LUGNUTS!
- joosebuck, on 04/08/2008, -1/+11...i heard u liek mudcats?
- p0pcorns, on 04/08/2008, -0/+10Good on them for making it that much more memorable for the kids and the parents.
- Goombellaofgoom, on 04/08/2008, -0/+9Or maybe Root Beer Man?
- inactive, on 04/08/2008, -8/+16Pretty cool, but where's all the steroids?
- MrJagil, on 04/08/2008, -1/+9Hmm.. you call the NUTs pussies, and the go on saluting the CATs?
- shaun1018, on 04/08/2008, -3/+11y helo thar /b/tard.

/disgruntled grammar nazi - jaewon223, on 04/08/2008, -1/+8yeah they really went all out here. i thought there would be a bigger crowd though
- dwninjungleland, on 04/08/2008, -0/+7ROB!!!!
- RockMuncher, on 04/08/2008, -0/+7Well done for Improv Everywhere. They consistently show that large pranks don't have to be malicious or embarrassing to be funny as hell. I love this group, and eagerly anticipate their next stunt.
- Psythik, on 04/08/2008, -0/+7So how about airing the pilot on a cable network?
- dwninjungleland, on 04/08/2008, -0/+7I heard that the mudcats violated recruiting regulations....
- biotch, on 04/08/2008, -0/+7Yeah they're "gonna have to get used to that kinda stuff"
- kyouteki, on 04/08/2008, -0/+6Well, it LOLs right back at you, mister!
- heavystone, on 04/08/2008, -1/+7AMAZING! Them guys have a big heart! I couldn't stop smiling!
- goeatsmsht, on 04/08/2008, -1/+7But who won?
- zman1117, on 04/08/2008, -2/+8Yes, but even thought they may have a large Internet following, that doesn't translate to good TV ratings.
- Jrr6415sun, on 04/08/2008, -0/+6When I was 12 I was lucky enough to get to the world series with my little league team and I remember being so excited because they said our names over the speakers every time we came up to bat... If I was that excited then, I can't even begin to imagine how excited these kids must have been. This is so awesome.
- bs0l, on 04/08/2008, -0/+5I agree, they've built up a HUGE internet following and the show would do really well.
Friends who I believe to be out of the loop of things come up to me talking about "some Best Buy prank" and "the one where everyone just froze in a train station". -
