- eastwood24, on 11/11/2009, -1/+4Vigilante bear justice is as American as denying others health care.
- Insightful, on 11/11/2009, -0/+3Stephen Colbert would disagree that assessment.
Nation, we as a country are definitely not above bear hanging. Bears are soulless, Godless killing machines and the No. 1 threat facing America.
Furtherm, polar bears and grizzly bears are mating to form an uber-race — pizzly bears.
So, hang them if you've got them. Bears that is. - bluto36, on 11/12/2009, -1/+4thats what im counting on. hopefully congress will make it against the law to deny due to pre-existing condition. then i will just wait until i get cancer to get insurance. i save money and i get my chemo paid for... win win for everyone
/ - eastwood24, on 11/11/2009, -1/+3I guess you've never been turned away by private health insurance companies as having a pre-existing condition. Even if you rebound from cancer as a teenager, its effects will be with you for life.
- skos, on 11/11/2009, -0/+2Ah, okay. Thanks man.
- skos, on 11/12/2009, -0/+2Good question. I guess it's partly because I like to multitask and partly because...well, I don't know. Is "boredom" a good reason?
- nubnub, on 11/13/2009, -0/+1We were, not was.
- bluenile, on 11/11/2009, -1/+2bondage? doggie style? we as a nation are about all that.
- skos, on 11/11/2009, -0/+1My work's Internet filter blocks me from clicking on the image, so all I can see is the tiny thumbnail. All I can make out is a...teddy bear? Color me intrigued.

***** illiterate idiot! - zacharytelschow, on 11/11/2009, -3/+2Yes, not purchasing something for someone else is denying them that item. Why are you denying me the BMW I covet?
- zacharytelschow, on 11/12/2009, -3/+2So if people can't be denied for pre-existing conditions, what incentive do logical citizens have to carry insurance?
- jeremiahjw, on 11/11/2009, -2/+1RACIST!!
- zacharytelschow, on 11/12/2009, -2/+1Just one small problem, bluto (I think about things such as this often, and I'm sure you're realized this as well based on your "/")... Once EVERYONE starts doing that, the price for insurance will basically become the cost of the procedure you're getting covered plus the insurance company's profit margin. Then you might as well pay out of pocket.
The following cycle will repeat itself a katrillion times:
-Person gets sick.
-If insurance is less than cost of treatment, they purchase insurance. If insurance is more than treatment, they pay out of pocket.
-Only people who will take out more than they pay in buy insurance, so insurance premiums rise.
-Liberals blame failure of free market.
As long as the penalty for not carrying insurance is comparatively low, the cycle above is what every rational citizen would do. If the penalty is relatively high, we're going to have a lot of poor people get even poorer or get free health care. In prison. - MistrBrownstone, on 11/11/2009, -3/+1I thought we was past it too.
