But blaming it all on Bush is a great example of assigning a simple explanation to an enormously complex problem. And simple explanations to enormously complex problems only exist in very simple minds. Bush is responsible for some of the mess. Wall Street is responsible for more. The Congress (both when it was controlled by Republicans and Democrats) is responsible for some too. The SEC is responsible for a lot. And various accounting firms and financial analysts are responsible for a share too.
