sorry, the ***** in me comes out every once in awhile - systemghost, on 10/12/2007, -2/+34Now this is good humor :]
- robszol, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18I love how he comments that the scroll was better....is completely reflective of how it is at my work.
- kalleanka, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18Your dad was the support guy?
- D3koy, on 10/12/2007, -5/+21Who would be which? Books are more common in offices, but are usually more "fun"...and scrolls aren't good for much of anything...
Nevermind, I've answered my own question... - TheOtherGuy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11'Have you tried turning it off and turning it back on again?'
/irish accent - theone3, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10"Scrolls like butter."
There's your answer. Just put some butter in your Mac and see if it likes it. - NijiDaku, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Norwegian and Danish is similar in written form, but it's a COMPLETELY different story spoken out. So that's the reason there are subs in danish.. Danish sounds like the speaker got a potato stuck down their throat..
- dj_sea2005, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Looks like a hardware issue t'me
- Iceduck, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Actually the bottom subtitles are in Danish, which is strange considering that Norwegian and Danish is basically the same language.
- endlessfight, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I work in an office where I overhear help desk calls all day long. Hilarious and right on point.
- NateB2, on 10/13/2007, -0/+3Here is a link on metacafe:

It is not as good as the original-this one has an annoying ticker-tape English translation. It *is* better than nothing, IMO... - konrad8ha, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2He forgot to mention that it's possible to store much more text in the "book" than in the scroll.
- fuzzboxer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I wish I could show this to the users at my office.
- LilRabbitFooFoo, on 08/11/2008, -0/+1video has been pulled from youtube. Anyone got a mirror?!
- andergriff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yep. It's gone unless someone comes up with another link.
- Aroundtheworls, on 10/13/2007, -0/+1Mirror of the original: http://www.shoutfile.com/v/kBjrdxU5/IT_Department_ ...

Actually, as a person who speaks Norwegian, danish isn't all that different, even when it is spoken. I mostly understand my Danish friends. The joke is that the danish speak with a potato in their mouth.
As for some history of the Norwegian language, there are actually two official versions of Norwegian, and countless dialects (and don't forget the indigenous Sami language!). There is bokmål, which roughly translates to "book language", is spoken by most, and there is nynorsk (new Norwegian) that is a composite of many different non-danish influenced norwegian dialects that were assembled in the 1800's.
A thousand years ago, people in the region spoke Old Norse, which is what is extremely similar to Icelandic. Because of the deep valleys, it is hard to travel in Norway, and they lived relatively isolated lives, so very different sounding dialects appeared. In about 1450, Norway was put effectively under the control of Denmark through a royal marriage. To become a priest or go to a university, you had to go to Denmark. So you find a lot of Danish influence on the language today, especially along the coastal city dialects, and less so farther inland. - ju1io1967, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm a student worker in the college IT department here in Hartford, CT. and I swear on a stack of bibles that I had the exact conversation (concerning USB flash drives) with at least a hundred (no exaggeration) idiot students/staff (remember, I'm a supposedly academic environment) members of the college... hilarious!

HP !? - queondatavo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Thanks for the link on metacafe, although that scrolling text sucks really bad.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"This video has been removed by the user." Wa???
Oh well, have to digg it down now. - stiankarlsen, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3im proud to be a norwegian :)
- DeathBorn, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4The problem with scrolls is that you can't put that much information on it without it being really long and messy, and you can't hold your place unless you make a mark on it or rip it or something.
- BeccaLynn, on 10/12/2007, -6/+4Alright, you had me when he couldn't open the book because it was laying face down.
~Shakes her head, chuckles~ Good stuff. - qwertydvorak, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0i can't waiit until they come out with more episodes.
