- decline, on 10/12/2007, -2/+45Makes you miss the fact of how funny the Simpson's used to be.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+24i love how people spout the cliche "simpsons used to be funny"
do you even watch the show? it's still funny today, maybe in your opinion not AS funny, but it's still a great show - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+20You try thinking of genius ideas for a show after already making almost 400 episodes.
- mikesherov, on 10/12/2007, -3/+20Family Guy sucks! The jokes in that show used to be a twist on an obscure reference, now the joke is simply the reference. If anyone WAS going to take the reign from the Simpsons, it was Futurama (made by the same people). Unfortunately, that show got canceled because it was viewed as a dumb Simpsons spin off, when it was genius in it's own right. It wasn't given enough time for people to discover it's hilariousness.
To be honest, there are tons of great animated shows out there, but none even in the same league as the Simpsons and Futurama: South Park, Ren & Stimpy, Beavis & Butthead... just to name a few. Don't get me wrong, I loves me some South Park, but it's oftentimes too heavy handed and deliberate.
There just will never be another Matt Groening or David X. Cohen (who coincidentally wrote for not only Simpsons and Futurama, but wrote two episodes of Beavis and Butthead). - KiDD420, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9They can only remake the same episode twice...
- Lari, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6From perhaps my favorite Simpson's episode of all time: [4F10] Mountain of Madness. It is from season 8, which is packed with classic episodes.

- Tr33fiddy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Yeah, season 8 was pretty much the last of the great era.
You Only Move Twice (do you have any sugar?)
The Twisted World of Marge Simpson (watch out for *sigh* millipedes)
Genius.
But also I feel it was the start of the unravelling of the show; Mary Poppins, the drug scene in the chilli competition, Lisa starts dating - it started to lose the persistence of the characters and the creativity began to dry up. - Tr33fiddy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Yeah but I don't lament it. I just don't watch the new ones and thank the sweet lord that the great era ever existed.
- krazikamikaze, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Notice how the fire alarm goes off while Carl is microwaving popcorn. When I was living in the dorms at school we must have had 5 fire alarms caused by morons burning their popcorn in the damn microwave.
- ArcticCelt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2What the hell is wrong with Youtube? I use to like links to Youtube because they were the ones that always worked but since Google bought them they work like *****. Every time a Youtube link is posted it's almost always screwed up
- edzieba, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4The Simpsons went through a period of comedy drought. The newer ones, however, are so incredibly random that they're funny again. Not quite Zim-level random, but approaching it.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4I like the one where homer buys a gun... The scene where he surprises marge with it (who is napping on the couch when he gets home with it) is hilarious... "Maaaaarge... Wake uuuup, I have a surprise for you" At that point you see what marge sees... the back of her eyelids slowly opening and staring point blank down the barrel of homers gun. LMFAO
- da_bradler, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2My only problem is homer is a little too extreme he used to be just like a really funny almost average man "I'm sorry you'll have to speak up I'm wearing a towel" But now he's almost turning into a peter griffen in that he's always at the extreme of retardation. still funny but a different funny.
- spriggig, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"I think I won Mr.Burns".
Having won Mr. Burns, I wonder what Homer plans to do with him. - racer108, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"They'll never stop The Simpsons. They've got stories for years,..."
- indraneel24, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1i watched the chili episode when i was three, and now i have some weird trauma and i can't bring myself to watch it. eh.
other than that i think the show got progressively worse after 2000. but then again it was already so good. by simpsons standards, this new season is pretty crappy, but by regular show standards, it is still excellent. family guy is another genre, it's not supposed to have deeper meaning, so we can't even compare the two. - krazikamikaze, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I'm not saying the popcorn caused the alarm in this case. The point is the juxtaposition of the fire alarm and the popcorn may have been a clever joke by the writers.
- thewatchmen, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Here's one of my favorite simpsons moments:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bv1B_jxGB-I - jmp478, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I think the creators of the simpsons have crossed the line a long while ago. I just saw the preview for the upcoming episode this week, and Bart apparently gets his girlfriend pregnant. It's sad to think how good the show used to be and how much has gone downhill from then on.
- macamatition, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11.He thought that the fire alarm was the bell for the microwave saying his popcorn was done.
2.You can see in the bowl that the popcorn was not done, they were kernels.
All the burnt popcorn fumes must have gone to your head. - macamatition, on 10/12/2007, -7/+4To all my fellow Simpson's fans and family guy haters, Lets Bury Em!!!!! http://www.digg.com/videos/comedy/Family_Guy_The_Creation_of_life_on_Earth
- lewikee, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1@Tr33fiddy
The chili competition drug scene was the moment I knew deep in my heart (without knowing the term for it then) that the show had jumped the shark. - Culled, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2"You try thinking of genius ideas for a show after already making almost 400 episodes."
I hardly ever watch The Simpsons so I really have no opinion but if your excuse is that it's okay for them to have bland unoriginal episodes because they've already done 400 then they should just stop now. A crappy show is a crappy show no matter how long it has been going on. - carguy84, on 10/12/2007, -37/+1Makes me thankful for Family Guy taking over the reigns.
