He has a very physical way to tell long (mostly) funny stories/tales, which is understandably why he is a very black or white comedian. Either you like his style or you don't, there really is no middle ground.

Whenever you ask someone (usually 16-25 years old) what their favorite comedian is, they'll either say they like many of them (like Lewis Black, Jerry Seinfeld, Jim gaffigan, Brian Regan etc etc), or they'll immediately say Dane Cook.
I have the suspicion that those people don't really like stand-up comedy, but they just say Dane Cook because it is "cool" to like him. It sounds like you've never seen Chapelle's stand-up. While his show had a lot of race based content, his stand-up had only a small amount. Chapelle's HBO stand-up specials (I believe there are two - a 1/2 hour and full hour) are some of the funniest stand-up I've ever seen.
Chapelle is also *incredible* live. I saw him once, about a year ago, he went on for roughly 3 hours! Every other stand-up I've seen, they do their set, and leave. Chapelle had some jokes that he'd probably done before but most of it was off the cuff. For the last hour or so, it became a kind of dialog between him and audience. He only stopped when he literally couldn't think of anything else to talk about and the audience stopped feeding him topics. Like all the people who were all over "the SuFi", "Get the jelly, *****" and "Someone ***** on the coats" last year and now ***** on the people who are championing "A:F6" and his newer material.
One of the things I like about Dane is that he's always throwing out new material. It might not always be gold, but it's entertaining.Think about it: He put out a double CD last year, and then had a full HBO special this year, and repeated extremely little of his act. It seemed like Jerry Seinfeld had the same hour of material his entire stand-up career. Countless stand-ups do the same.

This impersonator has spent too much time watching and not enough time listening, I think. He should check out a Dane CD and stop apparently relying on footage for inspiration.

He's not so much a comedian. He seems like an actor playing the part of a comedian in a one man show. Some of his observations were spot on funny, but personally I don't give a crap about his disgusting sex life, (real or imagined,) which was about the last 1/4 of the show. That's where he completely lost me.

I was a fan of Dane and I have even seen him at the Comedy Store here in Los Angeles but his over exposure, everyone of my friends quoting his lines over and over, his very unfunny HBO show and special have made me get over his humor really quick. He is really just an attention whore and I he pulled a "Don't you know who I am!!" To a friend of mine. So, all and all....good job digg.
