- valetudomexican, on 09/04/2009, -0/+29I hate it when Socialists try to kill me with their free medicine.
- jeremymccurdy, on 09/04/2009, -0/+19I'm a Canadian, and I plan on calling kilometres Nazi miles from now on.
- ralph123, on 09/04/2009, -0/+15Total spending on health care, per person, 2007:
United States: $7290
United Kingdom: $2992
Average of OECD developed nations: $2964

- canadaboy, on 09/04/2009, -0/+14As a Canadian, I fully endorse this video.
- yorkhock, on 09/03/2009, -3/+17Should we blame the government?
Or blame society?
Or should we blame the images on TV?
No, blame Canada - jeremymccurdy, on 09/04/2009, -0/+13He makes Republicans everywhere weep with pride.
- jeremymccurdy, on 09/04/2009, -1/+14Well they could probably forego the taxes if they cut back on some other socialized program that saves lives, like fire departments.
- lyziwyg, on 09/03/2009, -2/+12I LOVE canadian accents. They are hilarious. (How come the doctor loses his canadian accent when he gets his stuff peed on?)
- pitchblack16, on 09/03/2009, -4/+10Good job Gus, you fight that free health care.
- o1hc, on 09/05/2009, -0/+5 it's true, most Americans are stupid.
bury me for speaking the truth if anyone wants to. - DaryLintheDark, on 09/05/2009, -0/+5not always, but then again we're used to sarcasm being funny...
- ralph123, on 09/04/2009, -0/+5Total spending per person.
- redfan, on 09/04/2009, -0/+4That's true of anything free though. Do we need to change the name of toll-free calls?
- photochopped, on 09/04/2009, -1/+5Do they have sarcasm in Canada?
- photochopped, on 09/04/2009, -2/+6Canada? What was he doing down there?
- SgtMjr, on 09/05/2009, -0/+4Yup, here and there. Canadians are slowly evolving regional accents like those found in the U.S., U.K. etc. In another 50 years or so it is speculated that there will be many more distinct accents and the stereotypical 'Canadian' accent will but one of many. Right now there are; Newfoundland, Eastern Maritime, Montreal Jewish English, Western Rural Prairie among others. The Newfie accent is quite distinct as is the Maritime. Jewish English speakers in urban Quebec use hard G sounds, rural prairie accents especially those in areas where German or Ukrainian is a second language in the home are as distinct as, say, a Lancashire accent is in the U.K.
- Checkerd, on 09/04/2009, -0/+3All this pride coming from a man that steals to afford medicine for his daughter?
- ralph123, on 09/04/2009, -1/+4@govsucks:
As all the other systems have universal health care and much greater government involvement yet are far cheaper than the US system, do you really want to argue that government is the problem here?
Or do you want to tell us that Americans are so incompetent that what works in other countries wouldn't work in the US? - DaryLintheDark, on 09/05/2009, -1/+4beacause there's no such thing as a Canadian who talks like those guys.
- ViscidGobs, on 09/05/2009, -0/+2By thunderin' Lord Jesus, ye got dat right der. Except when ye live on da rock.
- Checkerd, on 09/04/2009, -2/+4Unless he was Alaskan, he was going up to Canada.
- ViscidGobs, on 09/05/2009, -0/+2Gus go fer broke man. Don't cave into those liberal policies of free medical care. Pay that hard earned $20 for a bandaid. Don't cave in to that well run, whiskey-swilling, pirated-software using, 9/11 terrorist-havening, marijuana-advocating, same-sex-marrying, socialist knee-bending, commies to the north. So what if their medical costs and drug costs are cheaper. This is America. We have a right to be ripped off and ***** over by our own government and believe whatever they tell us. Because when it comes to sticking your head in the sand - we went for broke and did it in two countries.
- jeremymccurdy, on 09/04/2009, -1/+3@govsucks: So you're saying that the government should do nothing because it isn't as good as other nations? Why not work on making the government more efficient instead?
- korvan504521, on 09/05/2009, -0/+2some do, in varying amounts.
- korvan504521, on 09/05/2009, -0/+2or maybe mcgruber.
- BlizzardWave, on 09/05/2009, -0/+1Do canadians actually have that accent?
- korvan504521, on 09/05/2009, -0/+1No, hell is down.
/s - govsucks, on 09/04/2009, -2/+3The U.S. spends far more per pupil that other nations and has FAR worse results.
UK = 6,000 per pupil
Japan = 7500 per pupil
US = 9000 per pupil
and the US has far worse results on academic test scores.
If you think OUR government is going to end up SAVING anything and that things will get better simply look at our public schools.
Don't be a fool. - jeremymccurdy, on 09/04/2009, -0/+1Just be grateful that we don't sneeze when we do it.
- SgtMjr, on 09/05/2009, -0/+1Nazi Miles,eh! Beauty.
- a22e, on 09/04/2009, -0/+1Any one else think the thumbnail looks like MacGyver?
- valetudomexican, on 09/04/2009, -0/+1Is that total spending or total government spending?
- govsucks, on 09/05/2009, -1/+2I'm saying that government is an undeniable failure at every venture they have made. They spend more money and have worse results that any company has ever come close to. They wasted more money on GM than most of the ACTUAL company was even worth and still it went bankrupt. Fannie and Freddie have been a disaster with loses that value hundreds of average US companies in worth. The estimates for the cost of medicare are off by an order of 7. There is hundreds of million in fraud to medicare every years, thats more value than TEN or twenty Of my companies. They throw away the lifes work of an entire individual in moments. The post office is billions in debt, the social security system is TRILLIONS in the hole, we have a deficit of hundreds of billions, that will soon be trillions.
How can you possibly trust these people with ANYTHING else!?
For the ***** sake of matter on this world man. WTF!
Don't you think that concern is LEGITIMATE? - SgtMjr, on 09/05/2009, -0/+1 No way. I know Canadians in Manitoba and Saskatchewan who do talk like that. I lived in Calgary in the 70's and there were two brothers who I knew who were exactly the same as "Bob and Doug McKenzie". I ***** you not, eh! I thought the SCTV gang actually knew those guys the similarity was so exact. True story.
- Wareznuke, on 09/05/2009, -0/+1Just listen to the guys at Pure Pwnage. http://www.purepwnage.com/
- DaryLintheDark, on 09/05/2009, -0/+1well i've lived in Saskatchewan for about 27 years, and i i've never met anyone who talks like that, if anything the people with accents are those from the french communities, and that's just a french accent.
and as for Bob and Doug Mackenzie, as awesome as they are, they are responsible for making everyone believe that their MADE UP accents are really how Canadians speak, those guys you knew were either playing it up around you because they knew you thought it was hillarious, or else they'd spent so much time imitating them that they actually started to talk like that. Personally, my friends and i used to say a very pronounced "eh" all the time cause we thought it was funny, then eventually it was a habit, which i thankfully broke. now it's just a joke again
Viscid: ya got dat right baye, but dey's so far gone i's say dey almost arn't Canadian no more.
if a newfie went to another country, they wouldn't say they're from Canada, they say "i's from newfundlan" - ViscidGobs, on 09/05/2009, -0/+1***** no way man!
- BlizzardWave, on 09/05/2009, -0/+1thanks for the info man :)
- weazal, on 09/05/2009, -0/+1Awwww! Don't say that!
- TriTech, on 09/05/2009, -0/+1We don't believe what the government tells us unless it's a Republican administration. We believe Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck. How else would the shouters at the town hall meetings get such good info and phrases like 'Death Panels'?
- mizkitty, on 09/06/2009, -1/+0More examples of American ignorance...contrary to popular belief south of the border in the land of trailer parks...medical care here in Canada isn't free. It just happens to be a lot cheaper than the U.S. and most employers pay our medical and dental premiums anyways.
We also don't have any private insurers to reject any of our medial claims.
And as for the Republican propaganda about 9/11 terrorists coming from Canada...they all flew into the U.S. on international flights from Europe with proper U.S. visas. - echelonist, on 09/05/2009, -5/+1Unfunny sarcasm is covered, treated on spot.
- Natealus, on 09/03/2009, -7/+3***** wonderful. I never realized how American looking Thomas Haden Church was until this.
- Animan351, on 09/04/2009, -6/+1Great idea. I'm sure that'll work.
- CrimsonFlash, on 09/04/2009, -6/+1Because the peeing voice is his real "accent".
- Kranden, on 09/04/2009, -8/+1Thank you gus, fight for our freedom!
- inactive, on 09/04/2009, -10/+3Socialist...or better? You be the judge.
