- danswan, on 10/11/2007, -4/+84I don't think anyone believed he wrote that for himself. Everyone knows presidents have speech writers. It's funny because he was willing to poke fun of himself and his administration. It's a character trait that is sadly lacking in most people.
Does the fact that Jay Leno or David Letterman have writers make them any less funny? - Salgat, on 10/11/2007, -4/+80Bush is the kind of guy you hang out and play football or go hunting with, not the kind of guy that runs your country.
- cawpin, on 10/11/2007, -16/+91No matter what you think about the man, he was pretty damned funny there.
- mattxb, on 10/11/2007, -7/+55Ive always thought Bush is incompetent not evil. Cheney on the other hand...
- alexforcefive, on 10/11/2007, -4/+44I don't know why politicians don't always speak with such candour and warmth. Cool video!
- mannayz, on 10/11/2007, -2/+33The pop up book is classic.
- bruenig, on 10/11/2007, -1/+22The funniest part about this are the msnbc captions on the bottom explaining the jokes.
- nreynolds, on 10/11/2007, -3/+20Jay Leno isn't funny, but your point is well taken.
- angle45media, on 10/11/2007, -0/+14that's why he's in office...your knee jerk reaction to this guy is, "Hey GW lets go shoot some horse shoes, grill some burgers and and drink a few brew-skis." ... basically he doesn't sound like a politician, he sounds like the guy who showed you where the copper plumbing isle was in Home Depot.
- nreynolds, on 10/11/2007, -3/+13we don't care.
- bagelpirate, on 10/11/2007, -22/+32You mean, the writers who wrote all his material line for line are funny.
- CosmoKramer, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9so his daughters are condemned just for being born? that makes a lot of sense.
- Frisbinator, on 10/11/2007, -5/+11Wow, you people absolutely hate admitting that the president of the United States of America actually did something right
- MasterFunk, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5For anyone who hasn't read Obama's book, "The Audacity of Hope", in one of the chapters he covers this side of the president.
It's a very good read and really shows a human side of politics for both parties that we rarely see anymore. - yensed, on 10/11/2007, -4/+9Wow. His writers are pretty good.
- artofwar420, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6It's how they deliver the joke that makes them (Letterman anyway) a good comedian.
- jrbrewin, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Billions of tax payers' dollars, of course.
- mrjeffery, on 10/11/2007, -3/+7Although he definately didnt write his own material, his delivery was top notch. Thats what can make or break a gag.
- sundancekid503, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Ok, I admit, he's somewhat decent at being a clown. Though it'd be funnier if he didn't have some much blood on his hands.
- sk545, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4dick cheeney is evil? Obviously no one has heard of Karl Rove.
- mannayz, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3No, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-bmT60TgjM0 was at the 2006 White House Correspondents Dinner.
- jrbrewin, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3and then laughs about it
- themastersb, on 10/11/2007, -7/+10He also just so happens to be the kind of guy who gets away with mass murder in his own country and in the middle east
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4And digg is giving him credit. Thousands have died and he makes self effacing jokes. Ooh, he's such a nice guy. I want to have beer with him. ***** losers.
- artofwar420, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Took the words out of my mouth.
- BlackStar77, on 10/11/2007, -3/+6I didn't find it particularily funny, to be honest. Just my two cents.
- bagelpirate, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Im sure Leno and Letterman have an influence on the majority of their content.
- ziffel, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3I couldn't agree more. Laughing at a man who is responsible for tens of thousands of deaths is ludicrous.
- DeathfireD, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2notice how after he makes a joke he looks around like why are people laughing at me? That face is priceless.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2George Bush made me laugh and endeared himself to me. Must shoot myself now. I'm tainted!
- MrLazySmurf, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1***** you, AND ***** your ***** stomping Republican offspring Morons!!!! Go ***** a CAMEL you Honky loving BITCH!!!
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I can vote you ***** dick. Every President should have a sense of humor because then there mind can be opened to more ideas. Like Regan. Regan was very funny and in my opinion he was one of our best presidents. ***** off you ***** digg ***** *****.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3Wow. Hundreds of thousands of deaths and people are giving him credit for being able to humble himself. That's ***** up. All you guys above are just plain idiots, and I rarely get offended...but this type of group think is ridiculous.
- ziffel, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3No, i have no problem admitting that. Hell, I'm sure he's done three or four things right. My problem is laughing at a criminal, a war-monger, and the person responsible the extinguishing of 3000+ young American lives, for absolutely no reason what-so-ever. I really don't care if people digg me down, BFD. I won't laugh at a person I believe to be a war-criminal. I don't care how "funny" his jokes are.
- Raian, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2Wow he found his calling... stand-up comedian.
I'm sure a team from the daily show wrote his material. - viviwanu, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Even a monkey could read from a script!
- viviwanu, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1How do you do it?
- bekind, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Most participate in group think in this country. On September 12th, most who now say Bush is a killer, were saying we need to bomb everyone. Things obviously didn't work out and the group think has changed to blame Bush. I guess it is more comforting to blame him for all the problems in the world now, that way you can converse around the water cooler about how incompetent Bush is and feel proud of how wise you now are about complicated issues.
Things are bad, no doubt and Bush has not been a good president and is probably incompetent, but for this country to act like they thought Iraq was a bad idea all along is ridiculous.
Admit it, when the statue of Saddam fell, you thought the war may be a good idea after all. Tens of thousands of deaths are on all of our collective hands if you are putting them on the President's hands. - hakz, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1remember guys, hitler was a comedian too.
- f201, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1nobody got nobody got the joke about how he "blue" it firing the attorneys.
nobody, that is.......... BUT ME. - rlbigfish, on 10/11/2007, -3/+2Did anyone watch Biff's Question Song afterwards? Hilarious.
- dapjang, on 10/11/2007, -3/+2so Bush finally found his true calling.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1Bush didn't throw us into war for no reason you asshat. After 9/11 you and every other single person in America wanted revenge on the middle east? What happened to that! We went to Iraq with many other countries to dethrone a dictator who was killing thousands of his own citizens. This is called being nice and helping others out.
- PrometheusPV, on 10/11/2007, -3/+1when was this speech?
- somedevil13, on 10/11/2007, -3/+1It's much more appealing isn't it? Really makes you wonder whats to be gained through needless deception.
- toxicvarn90, on 10/11/2007, -5/+2Of course, Karl Rove does write his speech's, but only Bush knows delivery and that's pretty much it.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -4/+1Bush is a man a man man man. I believe that every president in the white house should have a good sense of humor like Bush.
- orangery, on 10/11/2007, -6/+3making fun of your own self is an old tactic to make people like you better, come on.
