        It wasn't even that funny to start with. It hardly even got a chucke from me. SNL hasn't been funny in yeaars, which is kinda depressing that they're still trying to keep the show going. They're just beating a dead horse hoping the random corpse spasm will keep the show on air. Just end it already or find ACTUAL TALENT.

  • Nath5000, on 05/12/2008, -0/+3It looks like they watched the trailer and played the first few missions in the game before writing the skit. The only people who would get the skit are people who've played the game, and yet the writer of the skit seemed to be highlighting the fact that he hasn't seen much of the game. Those who have played more of the game would know what I'm talking about. The trailer they got the hand thing from was probably the one showing the character Elizabeta Torres (I think) dancing where her hands seem to be animated in the manner that the skit poorly attempts to replicate. Even I noticed that back when they first announced the trailer and was disappointed but in all honesty the hand animation in the game is great and that one cut-scene was the only real time it stood out to me.

Then, of course there is a break-out star that people suddenly claim to have thought was funny all along. Chris Farley, Will Ferrel, Adam Sandler, etc were all ridiculed for being unfunny during their time on the show.

    Kristen Wiig is one of the most talented cast members they've had since the show has been on.

    Throughout SNLs history they have had many horrible skits and cast members studded with a few great ones. Guess which ones you remember now?

            I also hate it for what the huge collective circle jerk that it is now.

            If you don't have a huge network of friends to shout out to when you submit a story to get them to digg for you, it doesn't matter how good it is, it will just get ignored because nobody really pays attention to the upcoming stories anymore.

            If they fixed that, and removed diggs from comments - there should be an agree/disagree button in addition to digg up/down - digg would suck a lot less.

The last all-around good season was 94/95, I would say (http://snlarc.jt.org/season.php?i=1994) Chris Elliott, Chris Farley, Janeane Garofalo, Norm MacDonald, Tim Meadows, Mike Myers, Kevin Nealon, Adam Sandler, David Spade. All of those names are more or less famous now (Chris Elliot & Tim Meadows, maybe not). The bulk of the cast were rock stars.

      The Will Farrell years were pretty good too, but after he left the show was a sinking ship, in my opinion.

      Right now, I think that Andy Sander (barring his performance in Hot Rod, which had some funny moments, but was awful as as far as movies go ) is the only really funny one on there. And, I loathe how unfunny weekend update has become.

        Also, by 94/95 most of the cast were veterans with many popular recurring characters. By then they were already stars. I remember the first time Farley and Sandler appeared (they appeared together) and people thought they were terrible...

        Also, don't forget that in the early 90s SNL had been pronounced dead (yet again).

        As I said, every season people claim to see no talent on the show, and within a few years that same cast has produced some household names.

It's tough to compare them to the glory days back in the 90's, and some of the Lonely Island guys Digital Shorts are pretty good, you gotta give them that. However I do agree with most everyone in saying that it was a good concept but the delivery was mediocre.
