He could have said so, so many things. - tizz66, on 10/12/2007, -2/+28Could also be because your title sucked?
- tizz66, on 10/12/2007, -1/+23What would you say anyway? "OMG HE'S JERKING LOL"? Other than that, I dunno how you could be less subtle about it than pissing yourself laughing!
- milomilomilo, on 10/12/2007, -5/+26Yes it's been on before.
So what?
If you know you saw it than don't view it, and better yet, dont fill up the comments screaming dupe.
I'm sure anyone who decided to watch this has not seen it before and could care less if you have. - Stonedonkey, on 10/12/2007, -6/+26I've seen this before. It's great. Gets progressively funnier.
- willjh, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20Because "Catchphrase" was a family show, i guess they couldnt say anything!
- elnerdo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20Please tell me you're kidding?
- SoullessDragon, on 10/12/2007, -8/+26I have seen this before but I am not sure if it has been on digg, excellent blooper, dugg
- elnerdo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15Well, if it's the "Funniest Ever!!!" then I guess I have to watch it.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13Shut up, Nancy.
- Xoligy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Perhaps it's because people are more inclined to click on "Funniest Game Show Blooper Ever!!!" than "Game shows are funny". Not to mention vulgarly explaining the joke.
- chicken101, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11Welcome to the internet.
You can get music for 99 cents over there --->
Enjoy your stay. - chris9902, on 10/12/2007, -5/+12it's so British aswell. they smirk and everyone knows what's going on but nobody says anything.
- Xoligy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8You are even more lame for clicking on it and commenting about how lame it is. Do you not have better ways to spend your life?
- P5ycHo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6just had a hard time getting off the floor after the rofl.
- cyssero, on 04/18/2009, -2/+8Man, this is hilarious. Loved the game show too.
For this whinging that it's been on the front page before, or on digg for that matter - think of all the people that only view front page articles via RSS feeds. Go to sleep, or go away for 12 hours and it's completely different. I've never seen this before and I look at digg constantly. - MeatFlaps, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6FCC.
- spikeismoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5"hence the idea of digg."
Damn right. This was on the digg front page 81 days ago. Over 2 months ago. Since then digg has recieved thousands, maybe millions, of new users... - vertino, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Roy Walker is a legend!
- surfit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4For those that haven't seen catchphrase before, the reason it cuts frequently is this part is spread throught the show. Each time a square is removed they switch to the normal part of the show, which probably made it all the more funny for the audience.
- RandomGuySteve, on 10/12/2007, -10/+13It violates the Stupidity clause by having 3 exclamation points.
It violates the Lame clause by having "Funniest Ever" and not being the funniest ever.
It violates the Age clause by having been shown on Basic Cable "Bloopers" shows 50 times already and being 10-15 years old.
Is it lame to criticize a link? Possibly. But Digg, by its very definition, is lame. Don't claim that someone posting their opinion in a thread about the link is not doing the same thing everyone else is doing just because their motives are different.
Also, "couldn't care less". - splendidbob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3"It violates the Stupidity clause by having 3 exclamation points."
Surely tho, something with 3 exclamation marks is roughly 3 times better than something with 1?
Although I suspect this may not be linear. Only a fool would argue that "!!!!!!!!!!" indicates something 10 times better than "!". One would hypothesise that the number of explanation marks loses correlation with the 'number of times better ' rather quickly. I would suggest the exclamation marks lose efficacy so rapidly it might be impossible to indicate something is even 10 times better with the use of exclamation marks alone.
Perhaps beyond even a mere 3, the addition of "Funniest Ever", or similar comment is required to really push the notion that something is (for example) 7 times better than standard.
It may well be that the author is fully aware of this theory, and knew that by saying "Funniest Game Show Blooper Ever!!!" he would more successfully convey his feeling that this clip is 7 times better than a regular clip than had he said "Game show clip !!!!!!!". - bevanl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2UK broadcasts are regulated by the ITC (Independent Television Commission) or the Broadcasting Standards Authority which can be strict when complaints are received, by the way that episode of Catch Phrase is years and years old as it is no longer shown on ITV.
And in the UK we restrict Sexual/Violent/Profanity content only to be shown after 9pm, this is called the "Watershed", if a programme contains suggestible content before 9pm it is considered illegal. Also no adult programs can be shown on designated Children Channels at any time, this is why Adult Swim is on Bravo in the UK instead of Cartoon Network. Verbal Warnings are given before a programme. - gaznet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2... how many times did he say "I have no idea".. LOL
- tizz66, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Oh my god, I think we need to sue the TV channel for being explicit and make them pay the biggest fine ever, think of the children!
;) - Catchpen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Seen it before too but this time I laughed when the game show host said "Here comes the bonus!"
- spankaccount, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1How many times am I going to have to watch this all of these old videos?
- Yoshi39, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3And you can get music for free over there
- dooder0001, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3If that were in the US the station would get fined $250,000 by the FTC
- CornStarch, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Even the original poster has said he's seen it before.
If this was some guy who just saw it for the first time then OK, I'll move along, but this was posted with full knowledge that it's a decrepid, ancient, stale (and any other adjectives for OLD) piece of footage that has been seen inter-*****-nationaly and by everyone here. - soupnrc, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I'm not tryin to be the a dupe nazi... but this seems to make the front page about once every 2 months or so. But who cares either way... it's flippin funny.
- dr3d, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0it's not really *that* funny .. c'mon
- fofusion, on 10/12/2007, -7/+4The FCC has no control over the UK and television broadcasts.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2funniest.............................. or OLDEST?
- Sammy20, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1HOLY RESURRECTION
- Kikineko, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Saw this a couple months ago on Digg.
- iLEZ, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0Hehe.. masturbation..
- MOJIRA, on 05/17/2008, -10/+3Fire the surgeon general is my favorite term. That's just clever.
- dhughes, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1Burp the worm
- spidermanspants, on 10/12/2007, -11/+4I hear ya
- 2006, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2Seen it before but still funny.
And 'Snake Charmer' - they could have come up with something more imaginative than that :) - f8pc, on 10/12/2007, -12/+3Gee, I wish somehow I could bury this story for being a duplicate. Oh, wait I can.
It got to the front page because some 100 diggers (114 presently) haven't seen it or dugg it anyway if they did see it. So obviously, some people liked it hence it being on the front page, hence the idea of digg. - dooder0001, on 10/12/2007, -9/+0wrong article, i'm a digg newb :(
- AkshayGenius, on 10/12/2007, -11/+1i was joking.
- ICSU, on 10/12/2007, -12/+1I can actually accept 'ever' in the title this time and also believe that audience's laugh wasn't staged.
- codered1200, on 10/12/2007, -18/+5There are times when I agree that not digging articles simply because they have been seen before is a stupid idea, there are always those that have not seen it yet.
This is not one of those times. - cadich, on 10/12/2007, -17/+1this is friggin' lame
- CornStarch, on 10/12/2007, -23/+4Hell I'm with you. I try as hard as I can to just ignore the old stuff, but this has been on so many dam blooper specials there is absolutely no reason to show it again as if it's new to someone.
- nights0223, on 10/12/2007, -28/+8It's been on digg many times
