However, when you look at it close enough, the contrast between the black and white is too powerful, and your attention is drawn to that. However, when you start to back up, your eye starts to blur the pixels together. At this point, the high frequency variations (the stripes) start to disappear, and you are left with the low frequency details (pedobear).

    If you take the image and apply a 3 pixel gaussian blur, that will remove those high frequency details and you'll be left with pedobear:

  • Phoetality, on 09/18/2008, -0/+40Nope, nothing to with thickness of the lines, simply copy and paste the region of the lines that do not contain the image of the bear. I copy pasted a couple of times till I had a large enough region. Then simply add another layer containing your hidden picture and reduce its opacity to about 2-10% (depending on the strength of colouring of your image). Its that simple. But very impressive :)
