- SiNN4R, on 11/15/2007, -4/+35You've just been viral marketed bitches.
- EvanVolm, on 11/15/2007, -7/+29TBS should just stay away from making its own shows. This will fail. Sorry.
- shawnanigans, on 11/15/2007, -0/+16Its like watching all your favourite stars... if they gained 40 lbs.
- JoeDiggsIt, on 11/15/2007, -3/+18Hopefully it will have enough variety to be funny, I've really liked Frank Caliendo in the past but this doesnt seem like its gonna have enough substance.
- terracottapai, on 11/15/2007, -3/+15I liked him before I had to see him every 5 ***** minutes during the playoffs.
- ChiSoxFan77, on 11/15/2007, -6/+16You're right, his Bush impression is one of his best. The problem is, it's about 7 years too late for any impression of this president to be considered funny. Now every time I (and probably many others) see his likeness and hear his voice, laughing is the last thing on my mind when he's destroying our Constitution more and more on a daily basis. The rest of his impressions will get very old VERY fast.
- UtopiaInTheSky, on 11/15/2007, -1/+9This guy is great and all, but he only does a few impressions. Time to learn some more tricks, bud.
- happytedium, on 11/15/2007, -1/+8Kevin Spacey is much better at impersonations: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O8JmN_-oudY
- Racerx52, on 11/15/2007, -1/+8Please god no...
Quit giving slightly humorous comedians TV shows..
Martin, The Jeff Foxworthy show(X4), The bill engval show, Carlos mencia, George lopez. They all suck terribly. This will too - anachronaut, on 11/15/2007, -1/+7Yeah, I'm having a hard time believing all the positive things I'm reading about this show on here. Those commercials are just spine-gratingly unfunny, and the show is going to be more of the same.
What's even odder is that they're placing that low-brow garbage after The Office to try and capitalize on that audience, as if anyone who finds The Office funny would find Frank anything but gut-wrenchingly awful. It's absolutely bizarre how these TV execs think -- they don't qualify their audience; they merely quantify it and expect those numbers to translate from one segment to the next, no matter what the content is. They won't, and this show will fail badly -- Office fans are going to change the channel when this crap comes on. Frank TV should be getting shown on Comedy Central, paired with Blue Collar, Mencia, Mad TV or similarly "easy" comedy like that, not being forcibly conflated with the subtle humor of The Office. Bad call on this show, TBS, and it's gonna cost you.
Personally, I can't wait for the show to fail just so the incessant ads will be over and done with. - Spanktacular, on 11/15/2007, -0/+6What makes you think this is sketch comedy and not just a Madd TV reject doing nothing but annoying impersonations?
- gllopc, on 11/15/2007, -0/+5Even Frank Caliendo noted on Howard Stern that he's tired of seeing himself every 5 minutes on TBS. TBS has talked me out of watching it.
- jmpeagle, on 11/15/2007, -1/+5I didn't even know TBS did original programming. I thought it was all movies, reruns, and baseball.
- TwwIX, on 11/15/2007, -2/+6I Agree.Somehow they are going to ***** it up.Frank's great but he should've pitched it to Comedy Central instead.
TBS just sucks at these things.I love their reruns though. - getjustin, on 11/15/2007, -1/+4How about we create a show around a person whose sole bit ISN'T impressions of other schmucks?
- cablemodemguy, on 11/15/2007, -4/+7he does the best dubaya.
- xOKxWhy, on 11/15/2007, -4/+7Have to love the Barkley
- tbenathan, on 11/15/2007, -0/+3I was totally blown away by how good he is.
- MikeFallopian, on 11/15/2007, -1/+4A show revolving entirely around impressions? FAIL.
- TheBigPoppaJW, on 11/15/2007, -1/+3strange...my brain was programmed to expect a dane cook "THERES ONLY ONE OCTOBER!!!" commercial immediately following a FrankTV promo....thanks MLB playoffs on TBS
- pussyWagon, on 11/15/2007, -0/+2This is getting dugg? Weren't you sick of the promo spots during the Baseball playoffs?
- happytedium, on 11/15/2007, -0/+2I know! I've watched it a few times over the last year or so and it still surprises me every time. Great actor.
- ChiSoxFan77, on 11/15/2007, -1/+3On a side note, it always puzzles me why they do those promos like Dane Cook did during the actual game. I'm ALREADY WATCHING THE GAME, why are you telling me to watch something when I already am?
- Cowfrommars, on 11/15/2007, -0/+2It's... a promo.
- jackhole, on 11/15/2007, -0/+1Talented guy, but I'm most disappointed by the fact that the premise of this commercial apes the (better) trailer of Jerry Seinfeld's "Comedian."
http://movies.yahoo.com/shop?d=hv&cf=trailer&id=18 ... - Spanktacular, on 11/18/2007, -0/+1Sketches built around annoying impersonations aren't good to build an entire show around. Even at SNL's worst, they don't make the whole show about gimmicky impersonations.
- Jerryskid02, on 11/15/2007, -0/+1I admit, this show will probably go down in a blaze...but I've seen the man live, and he's funny as hell. Should probably just stick with stand up.
- slipdisc2, on 11/15/2007, -0/+1LOL OHAHAHAH
- davewashere, on 11/15/2007, -13/+14Has Digg gone nuts? You're excited about Frank TV? The promos for this make me think it'll be the worst comedy show since Fox News' 1/2 Hour News Hour. He's a guy who does impressions, but apparently doesn't have any writers to come with any decent material. Here's an example from a promo ad:
(As Jack Nicholson): People ask me why I go to Lakers games but they never see me at a baseball game. One word: cheerleaders.
What the hell is that? Does Jack Nicholson have a reputation for being a pervert? Even if he did, what's the joke there? Has he ever been arrested for groping a cheerleader? If not, there's no joke there. That's just god-awful writing. - Antibland, on 11/15/2007, -0/+1Frank Caliendo's impressions are like relatives. You get sick of them but miss them sincerely about once a year.
- ngnboone, on 11/15/2007, -0/+1I agree he is a good impressionist but I want to see a good impressionist just a littttle more than I want to see a good ventriloquist.
- sleeknerve, on 11/15/2007, -0/+1i love the madden and charles barkely ones, but other that that, it looks like im just watching the same stupid stuff all over again
BOOM! - remyz16, on 11/15/2007, -12/+13See his amazing impressions of John Madden, John Madden...and, uh...John Madden!
- hd95, on 11/15/2007, -4/+5hope franks pull it off but most sketch comedy shows have a short life span
- ChiSoxFan77, on 11/15/2007, -4/+5Wow, what an intelligent and well thought out response...
- PhonicUK, on 11/15/2007, -2/+2You can't handle the troof!
- ophello, on 11/15/2007, -2/+2dugg down for lame use of the word "penis"
- defectDS, on 11/15/2007, -1/+1The "Toasters don't do sketch comedy" teaser ad that played in theaters cracked me up everytime.
EDIT: Found it - http://www.tbs.com/video/0,,118397|349226|,00.html - TheNik, on 11/15/2007, -3/+3I'll probably check out the show a few times before making a firm decision, but those impressions are pretty spot on.
- votrenomici, on 11/15/2007, -0/+0Never been a fan of Frank Caliendo.....
- hd95, on 11/16/2007, -0/+0straight from the website...........
"Frank's sketch show 'Frank TV' starts November 20 on tbs."
or were you driving at something else? - jordanlgta, on 11/15/2007, -0/+0Well...John Madden...um...
- SpeedyG, on 11/16/2007, -1/+1You think too hard about your comedy.
Also, it's fun when everyone's an armchair TV executive. - deese64, on 11/15/2007, -2/+1Check-Tivo is set.
- PunkHop, on 11/15/2007, -5/+4Go on YouTube and search for Letterman Impressionist Week - watch the 4 guys that went before Frank, then watch him. It's easy to see that he's lightyears above all the other guys out there in quality of impressions and comedic material.
I have a feeling the show will be awful, but Frank Caliendo is an incredibly talented comic and impressionist. - tim507, on 11/15/2007, -4/+3his characters are funny.
- geogia456, on 11/15/2007, -1/+0The biggest impression that it give me is funny. However, it is attractive. I believe he will be also loved by many old people from millionairematch.com.
- jordanlgta, on 11/15/2007, -1/+0Baseball sucks. It's all America has as a "good" sport that was truly started here, so a bunch of ***** act like they enjoy it. How SLOW can a sports game progress during the course of 3-4 hours?
- sweetlez, on 11/15/2007, -4/+2One of the best impressionists out there. He definitely deserves his own show.
- jmpeagle, on 11/15/2007, -5/+3how about you go suck a ***** you whiny little bitch
