http://digg.com/people/Anything_For_The_Perfect_Sh ... - mat831, on 06/21/2009, -4/+89I'm pretty sure someone just took this picture from a previously posted digg article
- infinityredux, on 06/21/2009, -5/+70So photography skill depends on the shortness of your pants?
- bstew22, on 06/21/2009, -10/+59When digital cameras were first becoming popular it was all about how many megapixels you could get.... now everyone i know uses their cell phone for pictures which have low megapixels. weird how we wanted better quality before, but now just more convenience. Just a random thought, and i know it doesn't apply to all.
- strangewill, on 06/21/2009, -0/+40I think a lot of it is in mindset of HOW to take a picture, typically people early on stand there stiff as a board and just take a chest high picture, where as typically as you get more skilled you're willing to climb trees, get on the dirt, etc. for the perfect picture.
- PaulTron3000v5, on 06/21/2009, -1/+39yes. yes it was.
I also remember looking at it and being only slightly amused. - mohsenxp, on 06/21/2009, -1/+35I've heard and read some jokes in my time and I can say this isn't one.
You can tell by the lameness. - LiquidIse, on 06/21/2009, -4/+34Buried as a shameless duplicate from a worthless poweruser
- Llanowar, on 06/21/2009, -0/+29Just for the amateurs though. I'm positive the professionals and dedicated hobbyists aren't going out shooting photos with their cellphone.
- hipnerd, on 06/21/2009, -1/+27And much, much ***** optics and cmos. Pixels aren't everything.
- fishbeef33, on 06/21/2009, -1/+25True. Besides, for Britney's crotch I'd need a wide angle lens.
Ba-dum. - fishbeef33, on 06/21/2009, -3/+19So, that final stage of evolution...is that a hardcore wildlife photographer, or a paparazzo? I'd hate to think that in a few years all of my hard work as a photographer would lead me to hiding in the bushes taking pictures of Britney Spears' crotch.
- IDCrewDawg, on 06/21/2009, -1/+17Nope, depends on the uber cool fishing vest.
- taox, on 06/21/2009, -0/+15Yeah, that is sad.
You should settle for someone younger than Britney Spears. - ICSU, on 06/21/2009, -0/+15And the last stage should have been a guy sitting at a computer with PS.
- fxspec06, on 06/21/2009, -9/+20Do you REALLY need a higher res to understand what's going on?
- yacks, on 06/21/2009, -1/+10I laugh at people who try to print out pictures from their cellphones and expect a great quality image blown up to 5x7
- LPhilM, on 06/21/2009, -2/+10we used to be able to take a picture WITHOUT a camera?!?!?!?
- Confusinator, on 06/21/2009, -2/+10.
- leetninja, on 06/21/2009, -3/+11your caps lock is obviously broken. not funny.
- themastersb, on 06/22/2009, -0/+7Anderzole saw it on Digg and enjoyed it so much so he thought that he would share it with everyone on Digg because he has a memory problem.
- johnn11238, on 06/22/2009, -0/+7Google search trend is more likely due to the fact that "digital camera" to most people now simply means "camera".
- rk23x, on 06/22/2009, -0/+7Why would you put millipedes inside any person, regardless of their attire?
- Nereus90, on 06/22/2009, -1/+7I always try to find the cameras with the most jiggawatts.
- gringer, on 06/22/2009, -0/+6More pixels means more noise (or a lower signal-to-noise ratio). To get a good noise-free image in low-light conditions, you need a pretty big sensor.
- BrewBeau, on 06/21/2009, -2/+8I'll take 6mp with a $1400 lens over 15mp with a $3 lens.
- whitenerdy92, on 06/21/2009, -1/+7thats really dumb
- plageius, on 06/22/2009, -2/+8for some ***** up reason you guys got dugg down... honestly there was no reason to be dugg down. ***** stupid ***** on digg. you didnt see ***** like that in 2005
- CrazySpaniard, on 06/21/2009, -1/+7so were a bunch of other people
- jamesgott, on 06/21/2009, -1/+6Chase Jarvis - a great commercial and fine art photographer from Seattle has a portfolio dedicated to iPhone shots. http://tinyurl.com/dbt4v3
- 33PercentGod, on 06/21/2009, -4/+9I think he was making a joke...because it's an article about photographers.
- Hillsfar, on 06/21/2009, -0/+5You'd get paid a lot of money in exchange for the loss of your self-respect though!
- KyleGoetz, on 06/21/2009, -0/+4That would be...a shrubbery.
- pygmy, on 06/21/2009, -0/+4I was just gonna say 'like me' too
- WDM01, on 06/21/2009, -0/+4You're switching from an slr to a point and shoot to a cameraphone. I don't know if i should slap you in the face or not for that.
- brwmstr, on 06/21/2009, -0/+4...cue the knights of ni references
- MrJagil, on 06/21/2009, -2/+6meh
- wild, on 06/21/2009, -0/+3He's clearly in a stake-out. Stubble comes with the territory.
- shadymoh, on 06/22/2009, -0/+3lol @ korea
- y0urcl0ne, on 06/22/2009, -0/+3Yeah why does this have negative diggs? I'm in the same boat, I have my first decent camera but extra gear is a bit out of my range at the moment.
- geoboy, on 06/22/2009, -0/+3I've seen people use cellphone images to print a 20x30. It's an abomination. What a waste of perfectly good ink and paper.
- whitenerdy92, on 06/21/2009, -0/+2you're right, that's why i buried you
- razmig, on 06/21/2009, -0/+2you'd be surprised these days though. I was just at a gallery opening and one of the artists "thing" was shooting with a cellphone cam...They were 8x10 and surprisingly really good.
- eanbowman, on 06/22/2009, -0/+2LOL Ken Rockwell
That said, some of my nicest shots are made with my 3.2Mpix Sony Ericsson k790a.
When the moment comes and I don't have my dSLR with me because it's a giant cumbersome beast compared to a cell phone, I capture it with what's in my pocket and the results can be stunning.
It does depend heavily on what you're trying to capture. The arty shots are sometimes hard or impossible to achieve with such a small aperture.
*shrug*
That said, if this guy is worried about douchebaggery for owning a dSLR - I think he's pretty much dug himself deeper into that hole anyway. XD - joshr03, on 06/22/2009, -0/+2Your camera doesn't matter http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/notcamera.htm
- Soar, on 06/21/2009, -3/+5I was about to comment the exact same thing.
- turpenine, on 06/21/2009, -0/+2with adequate light and decent optics (not too uncommon in higher end smartphones) you can get crisp high quality photos that print to 8x10 from 3mp.
- thewonster, on 06/21/2009, -2/+4Bury bomb!
- Gbobrt4, on 06/22/2009, -3/+5This is stupid.
