That lady's "dancing", almost ruined it though. - donjaime, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16But she danced like Elaine from Seinfeld...
- Jonh, on 10/12/2007, -7/+21That bird must be molesting children in his spare time.
- a3r0, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15The eggs were never the same again...
- xtmno3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I don't know about that:

I say this bird beats it. - EXreaction, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5What does this have to do with evolution?
Naming it "Moonwalking Bird" would have attracted more attention. - crgnetworks, on 11/03/2007, -1/+5That lady kinda looked and sounded like Michael Jackson...
- kb0x, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I'm surprised that bird has even heard of Michael Jackson.
- orangekid13, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3BWAAAAA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAAAAHAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAAA
- hobbers, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Elaine was hot. Your friends are weird.
- tony134340, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This bird blatantly ripped off my client, your honor!
- h3nry, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2i agree that the lyre bird is the shiznit
now we need to cross breed the lyre with the manakin and teach it to imitate michael jacksons music while doing its moonwalk...
now THAT would be evolution at its finest, albeit by artificial selection - bsolidgold, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Fresh to death!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1who said silly is bad? :o)
I personally enjoyed the commentary and background, and i couldn't agree more that scientists are awesome; but as far as inane internet clips go, i think it works better with just the bird.
you said "real video": are you just contrasting with the clipped version I posted, or is there yet another video cut straight from the documentary? (without the slo-mo I'm sure she doesn't look quite as silly) if there is i would love to see it.... - chamel, on 02/14/2009, -0/+1I seen birds like that before when I used to go fly fishing at
http://loopflyfishing.com - peternatural, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2haha, by coincidence a couple hours ago my daughter was watching an old episode of the PBS show "nature" called "deep jungle" ... it was that very clip (but longer).
with that info i could easily track down more info online: http://www.pbs.org/wnet/nature/deepjungle/episode1_bostwick.html
oh and the "silly human" who supposedly can't dance was actually rocking out pretty good in the REAL video. plus which she's a scientist at cornell, so all you naysayers STFU!!!!!!!!!
(this being the internets where everyone is crabby and insulting to each other, is permissible to say??)
(she is Dr Kimberly S. Bostwick: http://www.pbs.org/wnet/nature/deepjungle/episode1_bios2.html) - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1without the silly human this time

- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1First i want to say i Have seen this before on digg,
Second, i would like to say that it is well worth seeing again, and again, and again. That is the coolest bird alive, and im sure it has plenty of luck with the chicks - TGDuff, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I would not hit it.
- spence1818, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2too long didn't read

- markperia, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2@donJaime
When I was watching Seinfeld I thought Elaine was hot for some reason. My friends just gave me raised eyebrows. - gpit2286, on 10/12/2007, -10/+1I can't wait until the iBird comes along and starts singing Michael Jackson tunes. Now, that would be evolution.
