- carlosos, on 11/08/2009, -0/+1As someone that had to live in one of those for 6 years (after my dad died), I have to tell you that you are better of in a house due to better insulation. They get very hot and very cold which means high power bill and with hurricanes in Florida they get damages easily. That was an 30-40 year old mobile home, maybe the new ones will have better insulation but new ones are not much cheaper than houses. If you can afford something else than go with a house or apartment. Mobile homes should only be used for emergencies like when losing your house and you need a lot of cheap room in an old mobile home.
