Drunk Dialing for Dummies

divinecaroline.com — What is it about taking fifteen tequila shots and dancing on the bar to “Pour Some Sugar on Me” that automatically makes you turn to your trusty cell phone? Is it really a good idea to call the ex you haven’t spoken to for five years or your current love interest for some sloppy late night lovin’?

Then they'll get pissed off, scream at the phone five minutes after the other guy has hung up, and start in on anyone near them.

    Anyways, drunk dialing always ends up being a terrible experience for me. I broke up with my first girlfriend, from high school, in a drunk dial call. Of course we were having problems already and it was imminent, but the next day I talked to her and she was like "We broke up yesterday, you idiot, get away..." and I I just said: "Really? Well don't remember ***** about it."

    I always set my self a couple of rules when I'm drinking and I know I'm heading for neural destruction, such as "Don't piss on yourself, Don't throw up in public, Don't start trouble, Don't Drunk Dial or Text", along with the location of 3 things: my wallet, my cellphone, my house keys.

    I am a drunk, but an ordered drunk, he, makes it less depressing :)

    *in all honesty when I'm drunk I just don't give a ***** and forget about it. :(

    As much as I would've wished it had resulted in something, I ended up keeping my phone off long enough that any possible responses would've timed out. I still don't know whether or not the message was ever received, or who knows about it...

    Her mum answered, but I didn't realise. At any rate I ended up asking her out instead of her daughter.
    She declined unfortunately.

  • Nelka, on 03/30/2008, -0/+2The only drunk phone calls I’ve received were from wrong numbers. It’s extremely frightening to wake up at 2am, to the sound of a drunken phone message. When you’re half asleep, you think some crazy person has wandered into your home.
    One night I was fortunate to have the cell phone number of the person who woke me up in the middle of the night. So I called his cell phone, and played his phone message into his voice mail. I hope he found his drunken tirade amusing. I sure did.
