- thumbup, on 10/12/2007, -1/+34Dr. House in a comedy? He has a name you know, it's Hugh Laurie.
- penguinix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+29You mean he's not a real doctor?
- maquiavelo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19"the british guy is..." - Hugh Laurie is british too. Just clearing it up.
- theodenking, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16I had no idea that Hugh Laurie (outside of House) and Stephen Fry were this unknown across the pond.
- foxymcfox, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14This title and description are as daft as they come. Next time, take the extra 30 second to write a proper title and description so that you don't sound like a *****.
- EnoshKhan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11Check them out in the series Jeeves and Wooster

The beauty of it is just how willing it is to revel in its own contrivances. - Aeiri, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I didn't either, and I live here :o
Black Adder is one of the funniest shows in the universe. Unfortunately, Rowan Atkinson is known here as being a quiet idiot (Mr. Bean), yet he's much better at being a complete *****, and Hugh Laurie is known for being a cynical doctor, yet he's better as a complete doofus! - SkippyDoorknob, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10But he does live in a house, though.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8the british guy is Stephen Fry. He was in V for Vendetta and was the narrator for the Hitchhikers Guide movie and the Harry Potter movies
- phatmikey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Agreed. They should show 'Blackadder goes Fourth' in schools as part of history lessons.
- Norweed, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9Jeeves and Wooster sucks. Black Adder is the best Fry Laurie combo. WWI was the best in the series
- zephc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I'll disagree about Jeeves and Wooster - i rather enjoyed it - but will agree with everything else

- AndrewJC, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Wait, there's a narrator in the Harry Potter movies?
- CanceledCzech, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Hell yeah, I've got the entire box set of that. Absolutely amazing.
- neutrascrub, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Flight of the Phoenix was also good
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0377062/ - mandarin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Just watch Black Adder, all of them were there originally..
- so1omon, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Who would have ever thought that Hugh Laurie would do so well at comedy?
Please note that I am being sarcastic. Some of us were impressed by how well he pulled off an American doctor. - brianpeiris, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The skit is from episode 2, season 1 of "A Bit of Fry and Laurie"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_bit_of_fry_and_laurie - Norweed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The guy's got real talent. I like his American accent. :-)
- orangekid13, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1the show "House" is a comedy to me and my friends... we watch it to see him be an ass to people who respond with a "WTF? did he really just say that?!?"
- DarthChaos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The character that Hugh Laurie plays in House is very different than his parts in, for example, Blackadder and Jeeves and Wooster, both of which are amazing comedies in my opinion. In both programs Hugh portrayed characters that were buffoons but often had many opportunities and wealth and were very, and comically, shallow. I new him first as House, but, seeing is I liked British comedy, I decided to look into Hugh Laurie's work. If you do not laugh at least a little at any of his British comedy, you'll get your money back... I guarantee it!*
Stephen Fry was around as a major character starting in season two of Blackadder, though Hugh Laurie does appear in the last episode of Season 2. Laurie plays a pivotal role in the third season of Blackadder but I seem to remember Fry infrequently if not at all in that season. Meanwhile, in the last season of Blackadder, both Laurie and Fry play key parts throughout the season.
*All guarantees are void upon being offered. - nonchai, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Blackadder is PURE GENIUS and very very funny!. forget Mr Bean watch Rowan Atkinson + Co and youll be in fits.
It was co-written by the same guy who wrote 4 Weddings and a Funeral and Notting Hill. - nonchai, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hugh Laurie and Fry have a long comic history in the UK. They also have written books , the Gun Seller By Laurie is a very good intelligent thriller.
Fry is pretty much an "Institution" in the UK - much loved and admired for his vast intelligence and wit, He currently hosts a TV quiz show called QI. - pdkirke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Actually, Stephen Fry is the narrator for the Harry Potter audio books in Britain, just as Jim Dale is for the American version. I much prefer Fry's versions, for the simple reason that Dale's Hermione voice grates on me.
And Hugh Laurie is indeed quite a well known British actor. So the fact that my fellow Americans assume he is one of us because he's good at the accent is amusing. - bgii2000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Or his even more amazing ability to imitate other characters on the show *while* playing House. (Season 2, finale)
- dabomb, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1wow to bad that sucked ass
- jackminardi, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1Yeah, Fry is in almost every british movie I have seen.
