- AshamedAmerican, on 11/28/2007, -1/+44Looks like dogs don't trust ANY football players anymore.
Way to go, Vick. - pintomp3, on 11/28/2007, -1/+44unnecessary ruffness
- nizzy1115, on 11/28/2007, -8/+45if you attack a police dog, its assault on a police officer.
this is assault BY a police officer. - evi1, on 11/28/2007, -1/+27Inaccurate, that is a cornerback not a wide receiver that got bit.
- limewood, on 11/28/2007, -3/+25what are dogs doing on the football field anyway?
- chkdg8, on 11/28/2007, -1/+22At least the dog didn't pull out the taser.
- rhavenn, on 11/28/2007, -1/+14The guy spread his arms quickly near the officer and the dog probably understood it as the guy trying to take a swing at his master. Obviously, the guy was doing no such thing and it sucks that it happened, but to think that said same dog should be put down or would bite a child is ludicrous. The dog is in a large stadium and can feel the energy, the excitement and was most likely pretty on edge. Also, look at how happy he was when the cop was leading him away..tail wagging. He thought he did a good job and was protecting his master. There are some police dogs who are definitely on the aggressive side, but many are also used for old age home duty and public meet and greets for school kids. It's up the trainer / master to ascertain their dog and I would bet that K9 cops are probably just as devoted to their partners as they would be to a human partner. Would you guys be saying the same things if the cop was on a horse and the guy ran into the horse and got bit or knocked down?
Looks to me like there wasn't enough sideline to stay away from the field and perhaps students shouldn't consider running on the field and tearing down goal posts a right. - GhostWithToast, on 11/28/2007, -3/+16Racist dog.
- kalleanka, on 11/28/2007, -2/+12If the police officer makes the dog attack you then yes it is assault by an officer.
If the dog however by himself attack you and the officer did what he reasonably could do to prevent it, then no it is not assault by an officer. - jscnet, on 11/28/2007, -8/+181984 (police in black SWAT gear w/ K9's at a family ***** football game.)
- slps, on 11/28/2007, -2/+12Why am I the only person to notice that it's not an Auburn WR, but an Auburn safety? Unless Alabama's QB was throwing to AU's safety...Which is possible.
- RyanHCO, on 11/28/2007, -0/+9I guess dogs just don't like Auburn players
http://students.kennesaw.edu/~mlh5094/UGA%20attack ... - sleeknerve, on 11/28/2007, -0/+9its the south, they have state troopers everywhere too
- mrjit, on 11/28/2007, -2/+10Good thing that cop didn't have a taser.
- m1zl3d, on 11/28/2007, -1/+96..
=) See you guys next year same time? - wevegotthejazz, on 11/28/2007, -2/+10that announcer is a ***** douche acted suprised it was a home team dog, as if the dogs were trained to bite opposing team members or have any inclination to wtf the spectacle is all about
all that dog saw was some dude charging violently at him and acted accordingly - reeder, on 11/28/2007, -3/+11AT the very least he deserves an official apology from the police department in charge, and the dog needs to go back for additional training. Any dog that attacks unprovoked needs to be seriously retrained.
However, all dogs, unlike most people, can have aggressiveness trained out of them. - leahcim, on 11/28/2007, -1/+8The football player didn't do anything wrong, but he waved his arms in a manner right in front of the dog that caused the dog to react. It wasn't like the dog charged out onto the field and jumped a bunch of players, the dog was provoked, albiet innocently.
- JigoroKano, on 11/28/2007, -0/+7Alabama was the opposing team.
- inactive, on 11/28/2007, -4/+11unnecessary roughness - 15 yards - automatic first down
- gapingass, on 11/28/2007, -3/+10If I wanted to see every single break.com video, I would go to break.com
- dezman2003, on 11/28/2007, -1/+7It must be to discourage streakers, a dog doesn't really go for your core he goes for appendages.
- BamaStangGuy, on 11/28/2007, -1/+7Yea John Parker Wilson sucks ass.
- Elliuotatar, on 11/28/2007, -0/+6You can't say it's an officer when it's convenient, and say it's not an officer when it's not convenient. There shouldn't even be seperate laws for assaulting an officer vs assaulting a normal person nevermind for assaulting a damn dog which is much stronger than you and potentially deadly.
- redrock34, on 11/28/2007, -1/+6Hopefully the dog wont get euthanized for that indiscretion.
- Elliuotatar, on 11/28/2007, -2/+7Yeah maybe we should have a police officer in every classroom, and every office? After all, you never know when someone's gonna burst in with a gun!
- bonjourmr, on 04/25/2008, -0/+4Break Media players....top notch *****.
- Cerebral, on 11/28/2007, -0/+4Well it was at home and at the end of the game so it was to keep people from rushing onto the field after the win. They did that here in Tampa when USF beat WV however they eventually did let people run onto the field to celebrate. WTF is wrong with this country?
- Dundasbro, on 11/28/2007, -1/+5You want to jail the dog or something?
- gadgetuk, on 11/28/2007, -4/+8Don't bite me bro!
(sorry) - TheSolomon, on 11/28/2007, -0/+4Yes, but the dog should be trained to be calm while under the control of the human officer. The dog should know when it's time to "work" and when it's time to watch. The human officer certainly didn't give the dog the signal to become aggressive, but the dog still bit an innocent person. What if it was child *without* a gloved hand? That dog and its handler need more training. Period. (You'll notice he was walking the dog off the field shortly afterward, probably instructed to remove it from the premises.)
- wicketr, on 11/28/2007, -0/+4How is that any worse than the "my OS is better than your OS" runaround we hear every day on here. How about the "my politician is better than your politician" as well?
- TheRedNewt, on 11/28/2007, -0/+3It was a major rivalry game, and it was most likely there to prevent people from storming the field at the end of the game, which can be very dangerous for everyone.
- pintomp3, on 11/28/2007, -1/+4pigdog.
- WilliamDavis, on 11/28/2007, -0/+3Often, when a dog bites someone, they kill it. These are in cases where the dog made the bite on its own. So, what happened to this dog? Was animal control called? Was the dog euthanized?
- mercuryfalling, on 11/28/2007, -4/+7WTF are the Dogs doing there in the first place?
It's a football game...... - MeMongo, on 11/28/2007, -0/+3manbearpig
- dustPuppy, on 11/28/2007, -0/+3Damn... now we just need a Tiger to do it...
- grandolp, on 11/28/2007, -1/+4that dog is going to be put down
- Huknows, on 11/28/2007, -0/+3Where is Cesar Milan when you need him?
- floridiot2, on 11/28/2007, -1/+3I thought dogs don't see color.. ;)
- TheSolomon, on 11/28/2007, -0/+2Again, the dog should be trained enough to know when it's time to work. If the dogs can't be controlled enough not to bite innocent people, they should be kept away from the stadium until the last seconds of the game. The players certainly aren't watching out for the animals. What if he had full on charged the dog while making a leaping catch? "Oh, look how the dog is mauling that receiver. Oh well, the dog is just doing what it's trained to do." All sorts of crazy things can happen during a game, and the players can't be expected to watch the ball, the other players on the field, and the killer dogs surrounding the playing area.
- vhold, on 11/28/2007, -2/+4A dog's behavior is the responsibility of its handler. The police department should be held accountable for this. I don't see how having attack trained police dogs makes sense at a sporting event.
- nizzy1115, on 11/28/2007, -0/+2you thought wrong :P
- auburntygur, on 11/28/2007, -0/+2I was at this game. It was the Iron Bowl (Alabama vs. Auburn, biggest game of the season for both teams). The troopers were out there to prevent students from rushing the field after the game. Kinda sucks that we don't get to do that, especially in such a big game as this.
- VelvetHammer, on 11/28/2007, -0/+2Yeah, apparently leahcim drank the 'Constant State of Fear' coolaid our government has been serving for the last four years. It exactly that mentality that has allowed the men in black with dogs and guns to permeate our daily lives.
- AuburnTigers, on 11/28/2007, -1/+3Ha, it's no longer fear the thumb now, now it's fear both freaking hands! WAR EAGLE!
- Elliuotatar, on 11/28/2007, -1/+3Yeah what are they gonna do, sic em on some streaker? Have a dog bite people who aren't committing violent acts seems like excessive force.
- atbnet, on 11/28/2007, -0/+2At least it wasn't James the dolphin
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EFSkAOU8vvA - m1zl3d, on 11/28/2007, -1/+3I'm an Auburn fan and went to Auburn for a while. I was actually at that game when it happened. Pretty funny. That dog has almost bit other people before too during various other games.
